Brooks next opponent ....
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on Hearn's 'big name' is!
Personally think it could be Maidana or maybe Mosley!
Discuss.

Re: Brooks next opponent ....
I get a bad feeling that it's going to be Mosley or Julio Diaz.
It's funny u mention that cuz I was thinking of MOsley too..
I think Brook is going to be matched up very carefully for the time being and someone like Mosley is an ideal opponent.
I doubt it's gonna be Khan.. Fights gonna be in September and not enough time to promote a fight of that magnitude.
And I doubt it'll be Alexander. There was a reason why Brook pulled out 3x and i dont think we'll see that fight anytime soon..
It'll be MOsley or Julio Diaz.

Re: Brooks next opponent ....
It's definitely not Alexander, that's dead, plus he's linked with Khan for December.
It's about who he can afford to bring over here. Mosley is probably too expensive, Julio Diaz is probably about right, Victor Ortiz is coming off two losses

Maidana's name is tied up with Broner at the moment and pretty sure that fight will be made seeing how Broner is a bigger name than Brooks, and a Mosley fight would well be pointless, lets see if Kell's ass is ever healthy to fight a REAL opponent and if he'll actually step up to Alexander, other than that he'll probably just fight a local guy in the comfort of his backyard

He pulled out through 2 legitimate injuries, you loser conspiracy theorist.
He was nearly crying on ringside because of it.
Oh I see no mention of Alexander's pull out? Eh? Eh?

Do u believe everything u hear.. WHy are you so gullible?
Sure, injuries happen during training but not once, not twice, but three freakin times? this doesn't sound fishy to you? Why didnt they at least provide medical documents to prove the doubters wrong because most peope didnt believe he was injury was legit.. But even medical documents can be bought nowadays so i guess it doesnt really matter..
If the Alexander fight was so important, they could have easily rescheduled the fight, but instead, they pulled the plug completely and oddly enough, they announced the Jones rematch almost immediately..

You're beginning to remind me of Ross with all the shit you're making up.
Brook got injured only twice (as they said last night).
And he did reschedule it, but they didn't let him reschedule a second time because they wanted money for an Alexander fight so they took the fight away from brook (as they said last night).
Stop lying to fit your own reality of events.
Like I said Alexander got injured and postponed the fight as well, was he scared?

About a week after Alexander pulled out the Floyd tweet happened so maybe he wanted that, you believe what you hear.

Mosley got 300,000 for Cano, so this fight is possible money wise. If I'm Mosley I take it, if I'm Hearns I don't make it.
-
I can't see Broner coming over here for a Brook fight. I'd say he'd have to go to America for that and I think it would be a good clash of styles.
I think if he faces an ex world champ or someone who has challenged for them Recently I think that would bring his rankling up.
Ortiz is a good shout.

Re: Brooks next opponent ....
My guess is someone like JoJo Dan or maybe even Bailey. I’m not sure how far he dropped in the rankings and specifically the IBF as they have not updated their rankings since February. I guess nobody brought a hat to the last meeting.
Brook is a very skilled fighter. What he lacks from what I can gather is the will to go along with the skill. He’s physically gifted but to mentally deficient imo to operate at the highest level. To put it quite simply, he seems petrified to travel and fight for the very thing he wishes to possess when he’s in a position to do so. I’m not calling him a chicken or anything but resolute in not leaving the comforts of the womb. He has the attitude of some present day world champions w/o being one.
Even last night he seemed to me to convey a sense of entitlement. He fights a guy he already beat 2 months past a date for the title he couldn’t make and fights the guy at a catch-weight. In the post fight interview he said in effect that they never bothered with 147 because this was not a title fight. WTF? In a role reversal in the twilight zone vain, his fists seem to have written a cheque that his brain can’t cash. I think he lacks something crucial in the old melon and now has the perfect opportunity to wait out the division.

I think paulie Is the safe bet , they won't want Kell in with a big puncher . Plus he won't mind at all about coming to England , if not him Senchenko

I think Paulie will be too expensive. Mosley is the guy id be putting my money on. Hed definitely travel and cant see him caring if he wins or loses anymore, just cant believe hes still getting paid.
Senchenko? Maybe but he isnt that big a name, particularly after what Paulie did to him. Berto is far too dangerous so for me that leaves Bailey who again isnt really a big draw and with his big punches could be considered too big a risk?
-
Re: Brooks next opponent ....
It is not Shane Mosley. Looks like Mosley is fighting Anthony Mundine in October.

My guess is Senchenko, he'll have name value because he stopped Hatton. They won't put him in with anyone too dangerous with him so close to a title shot.
-
Re: Brooks next opponent ....
The way they're now hyping it up someone like Senchenko/Diaz/Bailey will be a massive let down. They've also said the word "dangerous" which surely rules out Paulie.

True, but Hearn wants Brook-Khan, I think he'll be looking at that as a possibility for next summer if Khan beats Alexander so he won't want to risk that fight by putting Brook in with somebody too dangerous that could upset him. Senchenko can be billed as the former World Champion who ended Ricky Hatton's career, it'd be a pretty easy sell. If not him then Peterson might be a possibility, the drugs issue and getting blasted out by Matthyse might make it more affordable to bring him over. Plus there's the Khan link with that one. I'd be amazed if it's Paulie.

I agree with everything you said, just saying they're hyping it up so much now, that if it's one of those solid opponents instead of a real threat it's gonna be seen as shit.

Re: Brooks next opponent ....
I heard a few whispers its gunna be Julio Diaz. Like @Fenster said, with the way they hyped it up that would be a huge let down.
I think we all want Carson Jones III or Matthew Hatton II though.
-
Re: Brooks next opponent ....
I think fighting Diaz would make the most sense to compare against Khan. However I think Brook will stop Diaz in impressive fashion and scare the living daylights out of Khan and Amir will never agree to fight him.

He's tied up with Broner. Fight is not official but if Broner doesn't face Maidana next, he has to give up his title..
Maidana and co are doing everything they can to secure a matchup with Broner next..

Broner will not be fighting Maidana and its just forum talk. Broner most likely goes to 140. Besides Broner would have an optional at 147 first and chances are it would not be Maidana. If he wants to get his mandatory out of the way first then it would be Chaves

It would be Thurman if he wins next week, Thurman Maidana for the vacant belt is my guess

I could easily see that or Thurman/Maidana in an eliminator should Broner decide to stay. Or I suppose the two Argentinians for a crack at Broner should Chaves win. Btw that's going to be one hell of a fight between Thurman and Chaves.

Re: Brooks next opponent ....
Thurman is a beast I would love to see him work his way into a fight with Floyd Mayweather.

Little to crude my friend and slow. I don't think he will get past Chaves tbh and will find him a little to diverse.
