Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Somebody step up to the plate and fight this beast of a man.. I dont give a shit what anybody says.. Hardcore Amir Mansour is one of them throwback HWs from the golden era of Boxing like the 40s-70s when HWs were fast like a middleweight, threw combinations, and punched like a mule..
Mansour has this thing about him. U watch him fight and he's definitely not like any of the current HW fighters.. He got speed, skills, punching power, Boxing IQ, but more importantly, he stays in shape at all times and the man is truly dedicated to his craft.. How many other HW can claim this?
Straight from the horse's mouth

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
I've been a fan of Mansour for a minute too. The problem is that he isn't with a big promoter and hasn't fought anyone. He needs a big step up in competition. He's not going to get a fight with Tony Thompson, Cris Arreola, or Bermain Stiverne because they are one step above him. He needs to fight and beat someone like Joe Hanks or Kubrat Pulev or Denis Boystov, a fight with real risk attached to it that will put people on notice. So far, he hasn't put anyone on notice. His threats ring hollow until he faces a risky opponent.

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
AMir was a hot prospect back in the early 2000s until he commited armed robbery and went to the joint for 10 years.. Since his release, dude has been wrecking everybody.
THing is, most people never seem him fight yet they just dismiss him due to his age.. IT's stupid..
Today's HW division is so weak, one dont need to be a young stud to make noise and shit. Age is nothing but a number especially in today's weak ass HW division..
Hardcore amir is only known in the hardcore Boxing circle..
It's about the mileage on the odometer, not the age, and Amir is a young 40...

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
He's a throwback alright he could have fought in the 70's......he just that old
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
LOL, well I don't blame him for calling out the upper echelon right away. Time isn't exactly on his side.
I'd like to see him fight a guy like Arreola!

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
The problem is that he remains with his local Delaware promoters. When was the last time he fought outside of Delaware? Of course, he is content to do that, it's fine, but if he wants to jump onto a bigger platform, he needs new people. I know almost for a fact that bigger name advisers have reached out to him and he hasn't elected to do it.
He can't realistically expect to face fighters that are already TV attractions. If he is attempting to make moves, he needs to take a risky fight in someone else's hometown. He should be gunning for a fight with a top prospect.

That's what's really holding him up and it's bugging man!! He's really a notch above guys like Arreola, stiverne, and even Thompson but he needs to face them in order to prove that.
He needs to reach out to Dan Goosen or Shaw at least..
All he needs is some exposure and rest of the Americans would realize what a gem he is..
Amir Mansour would beat all the oridinary Euros right now...

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Faruq Saleem had a mighty good looking record for a while too....heck how would Mansour do vs Monte Barrett and the fact I even have to ask should tell you everything you need to know about the guy.
Fine he's fun to watch, but he's small, he's light, he's old, and I think he's just a free swinger who has not met someone who isn't afraid of his power yet.
He called out the Klitschko's not all that long ago....I mean come on, delusions of grandeur much?

The Delaware boxing community isn't big. It's basically run by the Tiberi's [As a short aside, Dave Tiberi beat James Toney in his prime, but was robbed of a decision back in 1992. He retired after the fight.] One of the barbers at the barbershop I went to for a while in Wilmington was friends with the Tiberis and had boxed himself a bit in the past, had it on pretty good authority that Mansour had been spoken to by a couple of big promoter's/advisers, and for a while there we speculated whether Mansour might make the move to a big time promoter. However, this was more than a year ago, and nothing has happened. It makes me think that he's not doing it. It's a bummer really.
I think he needs to take short money to face Boystov or Hanks or someone like that, and with a win, he puts himself into the picture.

Amir is just a free swinger did u say? LMFAO U dont know what you are watching then.. Amir is a txtbook boxer-puncher with poise and high ring IQ.. He's very technical for a fighter of his size..
HE's anything BUT a free swinger.. U are trippin
U think Barrett would be a threat to him at this point?? haha he wouldnt.. He'd put up as much resistance as Dominc Guinn did.. Amir is ready for a real opponent, not no Barett..
I really dont think u know who Mansour is..

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
I dunno man I generally like my prospects to be a bit younger hahah

He's set to fight Maurice Harris next. He's some what similar to Barrett. Either way not much of a step up.
I understand why Mansour called out the Klitschko's. But I'm sure he knows they don't even know he exists.

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Harris is no pushover so once Amir puts him to sleep, that should open some eyes..
Through with the right matchmaking, Amir can be the next American hero in the HW division..
America needs Amir

Based on that comment, it's obvious that you havent been into Boxing for long cuz first off all, the losses on the resume dont always define a fighter..
So you are calling Harris a pushover because of his 11 losses? smh
There's a reason why he's labeled as the Mr. Upset .

Come on now homie. Harris ain't a push over. But I don't see him as to much of a threat either. His best days are long gone. He couldn't even beat them UK bums in Prizefighter

You should see the records of GGG's opponents, people talk out their asses and are hypocrites

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
He and Kelvin Price kick off in about 30 minutes on NBC. Ok measuring stick for old time, Price being arguably Wilders 'freashest' opponent thus far :-X
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Yea think I'm going to watch this one now. For whatever reason I don't like Santa Cruz all that much, and I've never seen Mansour.
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Not impressed with Mansour at all, he'd get spanked by all kinds of guys imo.
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
If Oliver McCall and Levi Billups eve adopted a brother, it would be Mansour ;D Not a pretty fight but Price up?
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Mansour is a bum. Price has been ready to go TWICE!
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
They're stopping the fight? BOOOOOOOO BOOOOOOOO BOOOOOOOO
Mansour is a BUM
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Ok so at 5'11" Amir would seem a little too short for todays HW division although at 226 and ripped as he is, he does look very strong. I think he would definitely still pose a very tough opponent.
The main problem I have with him Finito is that he has spent most of his time in prison. Were he not to have suffered these fates, he would probably be a top contender.
I find it difficult to pick him over Stiverne, Arreola and Thompson.

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Yea I agree. You can't do well as a southpaw at HW without some slickness. Kelvin Price is comically useless, and still landed some good right hands even though he doesn't really have one to speak of.
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Price was ready to go a few times and Amir couldn't end it. Price landed a few good rights. Maybe 20 years ago Mansour may have been a contender but not now.

I wouldn't go that far. But he's clearly not championship material. Barely contender material

El Kabong "He's a bum" LOL powerful post right there!! The simple things make me laugh lol
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Mansour is ready to step up..
Ya can't be serious.. Do u realize how difficult it is for a short fighter to face a giant?
When a short man fights a much taller fighter, the fight is going to turn sloppy often times because the lankier guy with a much longer reach advantage is going to smother the little guy and that's exactly what happened here..
As a short HW, even a young Tyson has been in these kind of fights..
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Yes I'm sure all the prospects fear hm with that recorded:)

Adamek and Thompson ducked him for good reasons. They view him as a high risk/low reward so they want nothing to do with him..
The fact that they view him as a high risk opponent says something.
Hardcore Amir would fuck Chisora up
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
He's not terrible man, but he's not going anywhere and there are a lot of other giants in the division who aren't basketball players. Kelvin Price was utter shit and could have landed his right hand at will anyways if he knew how to set anything up. Wlad would KO Mansour in a round if he wanted to. A realistic opponent would be say Steve Cunningham who fought on the same card tonight. He'd probably beat Mansour imo.
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
I think he might be able to expose some of the smaller up and comers like maybe Jennings. He could have a good scrap with Chisora.
Chisora also gets a bit underrated sometimes though too.
-
Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Amir Mansour will have a 'what if career', as in 'what sort of career would he of had if he never went to prison'...

#1 Price got caught FLUSH a number of times and Amir couldn't put him away.
#2 Amir stopped moving his head
#3 There are a glut of guys just as big as Price who are a lot more talented
#4 Mansour was fading fast which is typically the case with that style.
20 years ago he might have done something but he's prepped for a loss now.

Jennings could handle Amir fairly easily.
I'm thinking maybe Fires Oquendo is a good fight for him at this point

Re: Amir Mansour " Tony Thompson, Arreola, and Stiverne dont want to fight me!"
Last night was my first time watching Mansour. The performance was kinda meh :-\ He did okay but I was expecting a bit more after the hype he has received on here.
Style wise...he reminds me of a heavyweight Chakhkiev...in the way he throws punches and he has no plan B. He won't beat the top 7-8 heavies but the lower rung fighters vs him would be entertaining. He'd have a punchers chance at least.
-
I missed the fight but what about him vs Jennings on nbc sports both guys have made appearances both guys r exciting anyone have the video from last night
