Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?????
I just found out that Andre Ward is worth 2 million dollars, that is sad considering he is boxings pound for pound best fighter outside of Mayweather.
-
Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Klitschko Brothers aka The Righteous bros makes shitload but unlike Floyd and Pac, they dont splurge money like foos.
-
Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Depends what you consider significant money

Top fighters of the 80's and 90's seemed to get paid way more than that.

I'm gonna win $100 in the predictions contest.

Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Broner and Mallignaggi got 7 figures for last fight. Thats significant enough. Macklin got 300k for fighting GGG, and prob got more against Sergio. Fury gonna get 7 figures against Haye. Not much they can compalin about.

He was the world champ remember. I think he got like 1.1 mil and Broner got 1.5

Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
wladimir was in the mid 20s in the list of 100 top earning sport starts of 2012, obviously floyd and pac man were way ahead, I think wladimir made 26 million dollars in 2012... according to the list... not bad... it inculdes sponsor deals and so on... I think floyd pacman and wlad were the only 3 boxers in the list
-
Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Does anyone know how much Lucas makes per fight. I bet his stock is going up. I am curious to know what he and Garcia will make on the undercard.
-
Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Does anyone think they dont make enough? Floyd makes 100 mil a year and has 2 fights? I would guess Ward made at least a mil from the Froch fight. Think he got 600k for the Allan Greene fight which is far too much for him to be getting paid cz he is so boring to watch. If you want to get paid more you have to sell tickets and PPVs which he just doesnt.
I wouldnt worry about how much any of the guys at the top are getting paid. More worried about journey men and prospects who get injured and have no alternative career prospects

Floyd made 46 million for the Ortifz fight my friend. He could hit 100 mil for the Alvarez fight. Montiel made a million for the first time in his career against Donaire. The separation is truly out of this world.

Yea was a typo meant to be 100 mil not 10 mil. I wouldnt have thought Montiel would have got a mil for the Donaire fight. In any case he is making enough to live comfortably when he retires. Unfortunately fighters seem to think their career will never end and spend the money quicker then it comes in.

Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Edwin Rodriguez was paid $650k for beating Grachev and Grachev got $350k in defeat.
Berto was getting paid over $1M for his previous fights on HBO a few years ago.

The amount of money in that super 4 or whatever it was called was a joke.

Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
I think Klitschko's last purse bid was $23 million but unlike some personas, I don't believe they don't actually tell how much they really make so keep most of it.

That's cuz he didn't. They didn't even come close. Montiel got $250,000. Donaire $350,000. Together it's not even a million.
Nonito Donaire Gets $350,000, Fernando Montiel, $250,000

He made in one fight what I would say a lot of Mexicans wouldnt make in a live time. He cant have any complaints. Id say he made over a million easy in his career

Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Well lets just thank god that they don't make what mma fighters did or they have to work 10 other jobs. Wald makes a shit ton of money think like between 10 and 20 mill because he gets all the cut. Boxers do well i say the top 100 do very well not sure about all fighters though its a big sport.

Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Im pretty sure Khan gets a shit load of money per fight
-
Re: Outside of Mayweather and Pac is anyone else in boxing making significant money ?
Khan had a $1.25M guarantee with HBO/Golden Boy + TV rights not long ago. Not sure how the loss affected the deal but you can bet he's still around the $1 million mark.
David Haye is one of the biggest earners outside of Floyd, Pac and Wlad. He's made fortunes through Brit PPV. With another reported £5million+ (roughly $8m) payday coming up for the Fury fight.

Matthysse and Garcia are both on seven figures, the exact amount wasn't reported. And yes this is Matthysse biggest purse by miles.
Against Soto - $125,000
Against Dallas jr - $225,000
Against Peterson - $700,000
So yes his stock sure is going up.

What's "significant" to the op though? 500k? 1 million? 2 million?

My Christ. Do you know what “lost the plot means” Its slang and derives from Britain at it literally means you lost the story line. So fucking what if he made less then I said he did. You actually made my point showing just how wide the gap is. It was reported prior to the fight that it was going to be his first million dollar pay and I saw numbers from 600 grand to 800 grand after the fight and I’m calling bullshit on the numbers you posted and I don’t care if you provided a supposed pay link. If I never had a full time job to contend with, worked alone while managing to Karalian Bear dogs I would dig up some other numbers but there is simply not enough time in the day. Jesus Christ! Prior to that he was about to be sold out by his fucking pimp scum bag piss pack charlatan to fight Moral for 80 grand because Arum threw in a 100 grand purse bid.
Anyway whatever. The difference in the pay scale is off the charts and if you provided the more accurate math then you made my point better then I did.

Lucas got 750,000 for Peterson but Peterson got 800,000 pretty good for someone who had just fought Holt on ESPN for 50,000. The numbers tha boxing voice are saying for Danny vs Lucas are so high I don't believe it till I see the official release.
-
Ward has had 1 fight in 20 months so that messing with his money also take into account that tax rate, he's in California he has to make 4 million to have 2 million.
Broner will clear 4 million this year
Bradley will make about 5 million
Danny Garcia should do over 3 million
Golden Boy to my knowledge isn't robbing fighters if you our getting over 100,000 for a fight you should have a nice life.

Considering the numbers were obtained from Nevada State Athletic Commission chairman, Keith Kizer, I'm pretty sure there accurate.

That is not the point of the thread, we are comparing fighters salaries to measure the popularity of the sport, over the last 10 years purses have been at an all-time low due to the casual fan having no interest in boxing.

I read that Floyd makes all his money from boxing with no endorsements unlike the other sports stars.

I have to admire him for that, whilst others literally sell their ass for extra money which is significant amount for little work Floyd says forget it. Other stars sell watches, cars, banks, Floyd makes himself more exclusive for a huge deal. :)

Fucks sake....;D
Floyd hasn't got any major sponsership because he has a ton of convictions (prison time) for battering women and shit.
