Ricky Hatton Finally Details Violent Brawl With His Dad - Boxing News

Jesus, what a mess that guy turned into outside the ring.
I suppose this book is probably his version of 'Bouncing Back' by Alan Patridge. I read his last book, but it was definitely very airbrushed with its rise to the top, 'one of the lads' approach.
Hopefully the brawl with Dad will be put into the end of the book fight chronology to bump up the record of his latter career.
The fuck is wrong with these people. Why would you even want to tell stories about chinning your dad and falling out with your family. Could understand it if it was for money but this funker is loaded
Who cares would be my question.
Looks like he's not expecting a reunion with his dad anytime soon. What a thing to say.
He may be trying to sell his book but he does have issues of depression which he needs to address. Not a good thing to have him as your manager.
My first thought was why make that public, no class at all from Hatton.
As long as he didn't foul his dad he's still a role model right Beanz ;)
There's only ONE Ricky Hatton
I have never once claimed that Hatton should be a role model you seriously need to let it go now Lyle. Wlad is engaged and you have missed your chance.
It seems money is the problem again, trouble is when large sums of money are involved,
the old green eyed monster comes out in people.
Great pity but family's, and there problems are not uncommon but when your in the public eye,
people do seem to air there dirty washing in public.:(
Couldn't even knock out a 60 year old man. :shakehead:
Was this before or after the bouncer laid Ricky out?
Don't pay attention if it bothers you, why are people so silly about shit on here... Hatton was a terrific fighter and obviously a bit of a troubled sort, I liked him a lot but do think he's a bit thick with his publicity stuff. Figure to have had that kind of backing from fans, it was a bad trip to lose that so quickly and he didn't cope well.
But think of the world he exited boxing in. Its made up of 140 characters and people telling the world that corn does not digest well on some face book thing and texting someone to ask if they turned the heat down. A world of reality tv that in fact has nothing to do with reality. He spoke all in an interview that included a punch up with his dad. He and his brother were raised boxers. He has a blow out with his old man and says so and this is somehow shocking given what he has been through?
Very true but the average boxer, is not a Brain Surgeon perhaps we expect too much from people
after all it is a sport, were two people get in the ring and knock 7 bells out of each other.!!!
In modern times it seems, people in the public eye love to tells us how many shits they take
in a day,! why I do not no strange but it's seems common placed.
I always liked Hatton. I don't think he is saying this to sound like a badass. I think the guy just wants to finally answer questions that he gets asked till this day. He has been mute for quite some time on the subject.
Just like how when he says he wanted to slit his wrist and he was doing drugs is not for cool points. The guy is just being honest with his fans what's to hate about that? We all done something we are not proud of and he is man enough to admit to that.
I think so too, Outspoken.
It doesn't score you any points to come out with things that will seem strange to most. It will only cause the blinkered minds of people of people on boxing forums to look at you strangely.
In that sense Hatton is a brave person, he wears his heart on his sleeve. I respect him for that.
You would Miles:p
This just seems so minor to me. Given all the circumstances I'm surprised people can somehow be shocked about this. I'm sure he's not the only man in boxing that has had a scrap with his dad. I'm sure it happens on a regular basis all over the world with non boxers.
If people want to read about dysfunction just wait until the Hilton family tell all book comes out.
