Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
How far can this fella go?
Amazing amateur record with nearly 400 fights and only 1 loss.
Made a good debut and straight into a full on fight and impressed me a lot.
Decent power too , I see a big big future for him ;-)
-
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
He is not better than Rigo and nonito or anything but he's good.
Im more impressed by russell and felix verdejo

I'm with you. Was very impressed by him. Good power. Impressive speed. Good composure. Has that good arrogance where he knows he's good. I'm expecting big things from him as well

Russell just doesn't seem to wanna fight anybody with a pulse. Verdejo ain't fighting nothing but bums. As a former Olympian, he should be fighting better opposition. I think there gonna be extra careful with Verdejo considering every recent Puerto Rican prospect has crashed and burned when it was time to step up. Some weren't even stepping it up when they were exposed.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
You know what VD, I'm getting sick of your ignorant double standards and I don't give a flying f*ck who in here doesn't want anymore P.R.-Mexican battles. They don't like it.... they can go to hell.
Canelo Alvarez's opponents had the following records in his first 8 fights:
0-1
0-1
debut
0-0-1
3-5
2-2
1-1
4-5
All from the comforts of little ol' Jalisco, Mexico. I could go on..... but I assume you can read and can see for yourself what he followed that lineup with. And yet.... Canelito can do no wrong. At least Verdejo has ventured outside his own backyard, unlike some of your coddled Mexican fighters.
You're a f*cking buffoon who tries to intimidate, and it comically seems to work with some idiots in here. Me..... I keep showing you up for the brainless moron you are.
Carry on, f*ckwad.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Wow hey lets take our shitfest into a thread about a ukrainian fighter, ya'll would find a way to make shit about mexico-puerto rico if the topic was about german shepard dogs...wtf. Yall just argue the same shit over and over again vd "man puerto ricans are bitches and fags wit no heart, they always be quitin like chumps" tito "man puerto ricans at least fight someone before their 50th fight, margarito used plaster, cotto is amazin" seriously yall dont get borred with it?
-
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
You're right. Let's move this thread to Let's Get it On also.
And no I don't get bored. Violet talks shit.... I answer.
Someone needs to put the little bitch in her place.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Violet talks so much shit, I've lost track of it all. The latest was his tirade about how Orlando Cruz deserves to die and shit like that. He gets a free pass, as was mentioned by someone else with brains in here. I respond.... and get all kinds of shit.
Know what? F*ck that. The gloves are off. Ain't gonna be no control in this god forsaken place? I'll take matters into my own hands. Frankly, I'm tired of pussy-footing around this goddam idiot because everybody else is scared of the bigoted, ignorant bastard.

Isn't nobody scarred of anyone on a forum he been called out plenty in regards to his views of gays and what not, but you two literally argue the same shit over and over and over and sidtrack posts that have nothin to do with the pr mexico debate, also sometimes you just go for the bait like a shark. You ever think that maybe just maybe if you didn't respond he'd let it go??? Like this post its like he threw out the pr olympians name cause he knew he'd get a bite outa ya

I know you mean well, armin. And for the record, I don't always "go for the bait". As an example, the (cough) thoughtful, intelligent thread "Boxing Embarrassment" (or something like that) was at least 100 posts old before I posted something of my own.
I ignore the real asinine shit. But for someone who boasts to know so much about boxing, VD throws around some senseless shit. And much of it is biased, racist, homophobic, and sexist. Yes.... many times I do respond. My bad.
I'm hoping this crap will die off into a dull roar, and we'll get back to normal hostilities as usual, instead of this WW-III crap. But I do appreciate your feedback.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Listen, I gotta call it a night. I'm on a way different time zone than most of your guys. ;D
And tomorrow IS Monday. Can't tell my boss I was up all night fighting on a boxing forum.
Sorry for the endless battles with VD. I promise to try and tone it down somewhat.
I just feel the poor soul needs some guidance once in awhile.

All I know is I'm in for a laugh when a half mexican half puerto rican fighter comes along and becomes champ and claims both heritages.

Tough question. He's got skills in excess. Its kind of a mirror image of what Arum did with Rigo. We expected him to be fast tracked especially because of age and he was not. Opposite look here for a much younger man. Its kind of brilliant really because even if he loses its not a career ender. He challenged for a world title in his second pro fight.
I think its a mistake to make the fight but who knows. Salido is so tough. He will prepare for this like no other. Even Lamotta beat Robinson once.
Btw I've been trying to find out what Lomachenko's reach is and cant find it anywhere. It's got to be mid 70's.
-
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
It's hard to say. He has all the talent to do great things but has has many flaws from gearing his tendencies to be effective in the amateurs. The question is can he make the adjustments, if he can the sky is the limit.

He does look so cool and slick , great footwork , is Salido a good fight for him in fight number 2 ? im not sure . However if he takes that fight and wins it would be a fantastic achievement .

Good choice. Stop crying and highjacking these threads Tito. You always bite the bait and get rattled too easily.
Im looking forward to Salido-Loma.. Im not sure if he can take the hear this early but we'll see..

You're taking this stuff way to serious. You guys don't like each other. So i know you're not going to agree with this. But the problem seems to be that he's in your head. He gets to you way to easily. You react to everything he says. And its gotten really out of hand. A lot of good threads are being ruined by you guys constantly bickering. Both you guys are to blame. But Im a be honest here. I think you're a little more at fault. And here's why. You both bait each other. And you both bite. But you don't seem to get to him the way he gets to you. Its seems like he runs into your posts when he posts while you actually seek out his posts. You're not only taking all his bait but you're taking bait that's not even there. This thead is a good example. You got upset over nothing. His comment regarding Verdejo wasn't a slight against him. It's actually one that makes a lot of sense. With a lot of Puerto Rico prospects coming up short recently, I can see them being extra careful with him. If anybody else would of said that I don't think it would of upset you. But since it came from him It did. That just my opinion on how I think things have been going. I think you're both good posters. But this has gotten way out of hand.

So looks like Salido is next in Jan , I think its brilliant new that this kid wants that in his 2nd fight.

I was impressed too. Never seen a guy look that polished in his debut. He already looks a class act and if he keeps improving as he has more fights then he'll be one hard man to beat. Hope they don't make a mistake with matchmaking though in an attempt to make history. He has the style to beat Salido but he'll need more experience to go in there with Rigondeux. A loss after only 3 fights wouldn't look good.
If they take their time though I'm predicting this guy will be will be on the p4p lists within a couple years

Indeed. If successful its most definitely one for the record books and has never been done in history to my knowledge. Leon Spinks would be the closest in his cough, cough, win against Ali. There have been a few attempts though and the following were title attempts in pro debuts.
Pete Rademacher got a shot at Patterson is his pro debut. 1957
Jack Skelly also against George Dixon in 1892
Rafael Lovera against Luis Estaba IN 1975

Davey moore won a title in his 9th pro fight, having beaten an undefeated Kevin Rooney on the way.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Veeropol Sahaprom in his fourth. Damn these Thai fighters. That kick boxing background must be the reason.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Is Salido next aiming a bit too high? No one would begrudge the guy for taking a smaller step up in competition.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Lomachenko seems more of "the real deal" than Zou Shimming
Nice to see he has the hunger to skip all the bullshit fights trying to build up his resume. But still, time will tell. I am always cautious with new pros, it's like new pitchers in baseball, sometimes hitters just haven't seen enough of them to prepare, more fights means more film which means more of his tricks/tendencies on tape which makes him easier to study and prepare for. But here's hoping he continues his success.

What are you basing this on? I'm curious. He was regarded by most as the best fighter ever in the amateurs. He beat a decent fighter in his first pro and looked impressive doing so. He is fighting a solid fighter for a world title in his 2nd where he will be a massive betting favorite. Can't really see how you have men more impressed with Russell or Verdejo. As for not being as good as Nonito or Rigo only time will tell but there is very little between them in my eyes and given his size advantage over Rigo he will have a very good chance v him if the fight does go ahead in the next year or so

Suicide surely??
I mean this has to go wrong. Salido is a top competitor, a seasoned pro, hard as nails and has beat the shit out of some serious fighters. No, no no no... I'm calling suicide on this one.
Epic fail.

I think all you need to know about Loma is he hits very hard for a fighter who's been an amateur so long. No question his skills are better then Salido. He is a lot lot faster and his defence is better. Salido is probably tougher but can't confirm because Lomas so good he hasn't been tested. Salido ain't winning this and anyone who wants to back him I will certainly take their bet

I agree. I like Salido. But it's a bad style match up for him. I see the Garcia all over again
-
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
I think he looks great, certainly doesn't fight like an amateur and waste energy and appears to have a whole bunch of tools. I think he'll beat up Salido but it's very interesting and I love that it's likely happening.
-
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko, real deal..?
Lomachenko looked good; he certainly improved his footwork from the amateur fight I watched. He wastes too much movement, moves more than he needs to, and he gets to square inside a lot of times.
I don't understand how the guy he fought got to be 24-1 or whatever he was. He is certainly one of the slowest punching boxers I have ever seen.
