He is an honest warrior , no frills , he just does his thing like a machine.
Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
Anyone know how long Roach has been working with Prod. I tried to look it up but couldn't find the answer

I think Roach had trained him for the Torres fight though he wasn't working the corner. That put his short 'experiment' with McGirt to an end, then they brought him in to spar Manny in preperation for the Pac-Bradley fight and has been trainer since. Not long, but benefits are showing.

Thanks. I now remember them saying that prior to the Bradley fight. Prod is incredible, he just keeps coming forward. Doesn't seem to worry about anyone's power.
Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
He's a killer, tough as nails and really loves to fight. Like how he still goes to the body hard when he smells blood, has a very cerebral approach and some heavy hands. Obviously he can and probably will be outboxed, but he matches up well with all the top 140 guys for now.
Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
Apparently Roach's style is to SWING like a mutha-effer. He WON that Bradley fight. He was robbed. He should rematch Bradley. NOW!!!
Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
He's one of the better 140lb fighters, not the best. I'd enjoy a Matthyse fight but I doubt that happens.
Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
the problem is that at the moment he is with TR and he isnt going to fight any GB fighters. all i was thinking during the fight was that i hope rios beats pac because a prod vs rios fight would be no question FOTY.
the difference with alvarado is that he is tough and has a good punch but isnt a great brawler. he does better brawling for a while then using his jab. thats how he beat rios. when he brawled with rios, he lost. rios wouldnt step back and try to box with prod. they would be in each others face all fight because neither of them know how to do anything else and both would try to prove that they are more of a man than the other.
Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
Provodnikov is a good fighter.
He's a bit of a plodder and he'll struggle against guys like Bradley who move well, although he pushed Bradley close, that was due to Tim fighting the wrong fight, if Tim had fought like he did against Marquez, it would have been lopsided.

provodnikov forced the action and made bradley fight that way!

I dunno mate, they said before the fight that Bradley might go out n have a brawl after his Pac win, a lot of people expected it before the fight.
Even if that was the case, it didnt do him a lot of favours as he lost.
He'll struggle against good movers.

You see? This is the shit I hate- take no offence. People are beginning to BELIEVE, legitimately, that Bradley won that fight. Prov whipped Bradley's ass from the start of the bell in round one right to the end of round 12, LITERALLY.
What next?!?! Trinidad DID beat Oscar DLH? That Bradley DID beat Manny Pacquioa?? Boxing can make me sick to my stomach at times, really!!!

i thought that bradley beat prod. if i remember correctly, prod for sure won rounds 1,2,11, and 12. the rest of the rounds seemed clear that they were bradleys. and this is coming from one of the few people that had marquez beating bradley.
Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
I thought Bradley won the fight, BUT Bradley took the beating. If i'm Bradley, I still two states away from that guy. Had Prov just let everything loose, it could've been stopped ... but one thing about Bradley is, he's always in super shape.

*I had a draw in the Marquez/Bradley fight. I had Marquez winning 3 out of the first 4 rounds. To me, u can't give the round to Braley cuz he flicks his jab out there and hits nothing... in a few rounds, that's what happened...in the last round, which Marquez won, or should've won... the commentator says"that one punch from Bradley wins that round"..no is doesn't...
Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
He's a great TV fighter and HBO are going to want to keep him on their network for as long as he's fun to watch. Top Rank have a co-promotion option for his next fight and I'm guessing TR and HBO will both want to extend that. So that means fights with Bradley, Rios, Manny and Marquez are all possibilities. I'd like to watch any one of those four fights.

I think I had four rounds in that one 10-8 for Provo, including the clearly blown "slip" call. He was in that bad of shape. Provo forced the fight and I honestly believe if Bradley attempted to fight like he did Marquez that Provo would have walked through him and got the stoppage. Bradley was getting hurt regardless of being on the backfoot and he was forced into the exchanges to survive. He wasn't bringing a lot of firepower behind the jabs on Marquez and Provo would not sit in the pocket waiting for counters and matching jabs. Styles, styles. I like Tim, but I think Provo gets him if they rematch. As mentioned a Matthysse, Rios fight would be explosive! Be interesting to see if he stays 140 or goes for mass fight at 147

Re: Ruslan Provodnikov...
Prov is a beast, but he can be outpointed. What a year he's had.
Possible fights that can actually be made in no particular order: Rios, Bradley rematch, Beltran if he moved up?, Alvarado rematch?

Don't get this at all, are you scoring it as a boxing match or just going by the last round or something.. Sick to your stomach? Obviously Provo did more damage and won his rounds huge, but I had Bradley pretty well sweeping all of the middle rounds except 5 or 6, whichever he was hurt again in. A draw would've been fair, I'm pretty sure I had it 114-112 Bradley without actually scoring what I'm pretty sure was a knockdown in the first. Definitely a stretch to have Alvarado winning more than 4 rounds of the fight imo, regardless of how clearly he won those.
