Storing Brown Sauce upside down?
Hi guys,
Not sure if any of you will have tried this, but as my bottle of sauce was getting close to the empty side, I turned it upside down so it would all be at the bottom for when I wanted some sauce. One of the weird side effects is that the sauce now tastes stronger, and has a thicker texture than when stored normally. It's an asda own brand one.
Any ideas why this would be the case?

Your probably getting some of the spice that settles to the bottom and sides that might be missed without the assist of gravity. By the way, I read that gravity doesn't work the same on a subatomic level which kind of throws a wrench in the whole gravity explanations. It apparently pissed of some scientists as they thought all that had been figured out, go figure.

Your rarebit may have an extra tangyness but your brain is now irretrievably altered and you will find yourself craving white lightning served out of a sweaty trainer whilst dancing involuntarily to old Neil Diamond hits. Serves you right.
Damn, you are brilliant

The worst thing is that he is right. I'm not even sure who Neil Diamond is, but I'm already drinking white lightning from a trainer I found in the park.
Re: Storing Brown Sauce upside down?
My old roomate made HP sauce from scratch once and it was amazing. All sorts of shit in that stuff, you need fresh tamarind, dates, treacle, tomato paste, fresh indian spices, orange zest etc. I don't know Asda at all but I bet Greenbeanz' post was clever.
Mike D from the Beastie Boys is actually Neil Diamonds son.

To get blood out of a stone you just whack it on someone's head really hard and there you have it....blood!

Only with vinegar when I eat chips. :)
Re: Storing Brown Sauce upside down?
inevitably on a purely UK thread, vinegar and sauce will be mentioned, then chips, then right after that some clown will bring up tight-asses :) Just watch, next Guernsey butter and then pudding.

I bet you're one of those heathen foreigners who think that pudding is purely a sweet dessert type dish. I doubt you even know they joys of dripping on toast!
Re: Storing Brown Sauce upside down?
at least it's not as bad as the Italians calling sauce gravy.

I had to zoom out so far that I couldn't see the text in order to figure out what that was! Looks rather nice.

Does THE Uk have beer batter on their chips from the fish and chip shop?
Re: Storing Brown Sauce upside down?
I have heard US beef is much better than that found in the UK Any truth to this. I have yet to get to England

It varies I think. While you're unlikely to find a beer batter in your average chippy, there are plenty of more upmarket ones where you can find a good beer batter.
Re: Storing Brown Sauce upside down?
I love battered chips, they are beautiful.
