Box Nation turning into a joke
This is the schedule for live events on Box Nation :
November 30th Chisora versus some Italian for the Euro title.
7th December Paul Smith versus somebody for the British 168 title.
14th December Juergen Braehmer versus Marcus Oliveira for one of the WBA world light heavyweight belts.
And that's it.
Sky are showing Golovkin versus Stevens next weekend but other than that no British broadcaster has bought any of the upcoming cards from the States or the Manny Rios fight. These fights are the sort of thing BN should be showing if they're serious about remaining in business.
Does anybody know anything about what's going on at BN or if they're planning to actually buy any of these fights?
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
Warren should have found a better opponent for Chisora, and I don't want to see the mediocre Paul Smith.
But Braehmer-Olivera will be good, and Pulev will probably be on the card.
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
Agreed I stopped subscribing after the Mayweather fight. Sky has better shows but cost too much. The fact that no one is showing they Manny Pac v Rios fight is a shame.
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
Boxnation keeps poping up with fights across the states. Wouldnt be supprised to see them get the Donaire card. Ive never understood the hate for boxnation on this forum particularly when people are non sto ppraise for sky. People seem to forget that before boxnation sky showed virtually no fights from the US unless they involved british fights. Further to this they still show fuck all of the undercards while Boxnation get most of them covered. Sky has upped its game since boxnation came along and because of the higher profile domestic fighters on matchroom people seem to think it is better. My pros for boxnation are the pundits are better, the commentators are better (although both are pretty shit), they show more fights per card and its made sky step up their game. Also its only 10 a month versus 40 for sky.

Ok so you pay your £10 per month for boxnation on top of your Sky sports subscription (yearly..monthly .. whatever ) ... even though you claim you can get it all for free :)
I watch all my sport on flatscreen tv as well but i get sky sports ..boxnation ..showtime and hbo.
Digital quality too plus i dont need to record as the fights are available on demand , add to this the fact i can access all of this 24/7 anywhere in the world on my smartphone, my girlfriends smartphone, laptop, tablet or anyones flatscreen with an hdmi input.
Since you mentioned idiots... how do you pay for your PPV fights?
Mine are inclusive of the peanuts i pay :)

Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
Hatton hasn't had a promotion since he signed with BoxNation yet his fighters have been regularly appearing on Matchroom bills.
The longer it goes without Sky announcing the Pac fight the better news it is that BoxNation will buy it.
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
Boxnation got the Pac card in Macau, as expected. It is still a fantastic channel
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
unsubscribed after Broner v Maliganggi. Won't be back
I'm with Smash ;)

I dont like Warren he tried to take the piss out of my camera at the Harrison v Williams press conference in London once calling it a 'Saddo' camera so i refuse to line his dodgy pockets ;-). I took revenge by caining his credit card at a bar when he said "I've got to shoot now so all press people can have a few beers but dont take the piss"
BIG mistake , I dont even remember getting home that afternoon and corrupted about 6 other journalists in the process :D
True story that ;-) lol

Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
They've got Manny Rios but they need to pick up the smaller cards like Garcia/Donaire. I'm going to have to watch that one on a stream.

Ive never bought a PPV fight in my life and never will. Haye - Klit was the last one that was PPV and I picked it up on the satelite from a German channel were it was free to air.
I can get it free on a stream but would have to use a laptop. I could hook this up to the TV but as the picture gets bigger the quality diminishes so prefer subscribing for the 10er a month. How do you get all that for 2 a month?
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
ESPN showed the Carl Frampton fight from Box Nation.
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
They had Hopkins v Murat on too, who needs Box Nation.

and u called him an idiot? lol... He's probably subscribed to a stream pays about 7 bucks a month and gets all the ppv HD and what not.
That's what I have and it shows soccer, football, mma, boxing ppvs, wrestling ppvs. I stream it to my tv and it does not lose any quality picture looks better than my cable sometimes lol.
Why pay? Because 1. you don't have to be like a douche looking for a link and then it gets shut down. 2. It doesn't buffer or stop or the quality degrade because thousands of people are watching that same link. Nope paying has it's perks.
-
I tested mine against satellite tv and theres hardly any difference in quality or sound , sometimes you'd never know.
;-)

Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
Andre Ward vs. Edwin Rodriguez has been added to the BoxNation schedule.
-
And the Judah, Alexander and Broner fights in Dec.

BoxNation are showing Pacman vs. Rios, just announced.

Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
Ha! One post from Kirkland Laing and Warren gets his chequebook out. Frank, I know you're reading this, stump up for the Garcia card next week as well so I don't have to watch it on a stream.

Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
As someone who watches from Australia I can say the Brits Box Nation is a great thing. I've seen nothing else like it in the world. Sure it can be improved but that takes time and more subscribers. the amount of previous fights they have shown and for just 10 a month mean it's an absolute bargain. wait until you have to come here and pay 40 a fight on main event.
For all those unsubscribing, they have no right to complain. You can complain about the bias British commentary but those kind of complaints fall on deaf ears unfortunately. ;)

Australia have some joke PPV fight starring Mudine. I can see why Box Nation can look good in that context.

Mundane is a joke. But as I understand the main point of conversation is international coverage. I just saw you guys are getting Pacquiao-Rios now. If I was a mug I would have to pay $40 alone for that!
I'll leave it there, i know how poms get when you add some positivity during a long whinge.

Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
Boxnation showing the Donaire card this weekend. Very decent card. Still have no idea how boxing fans can complain about Boxnation
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
What's wrong with it? Isnt boxnation like 10 bucks a month. Id definitely have this channel if I lived in England.

Box Nation now showing this card and the Rigondeaux fight on the same night as they show the Malinaggi Judah card.
BoxNation Schedule | Live boxing on BoxNationTV
:)
All I need to do now is to get on to Sky so that they show Stevenson Bellew and that's every major fight this year on the telly.

People dont like the promoter that runs it so dont like the channel even though hes rarely on the channel himself. Petty stuff
-
Boxnation is good , they seem to have all the big fight and sky have big fights too...that's why I watch both ;)

I watch both too. IF I had to go without 1 Id go without sky because Im more interested in world fights then domestic and boxnation is better for that. Skys boxing coverage has improved a lot since boxnation came along so the competition is good
-
Re: Box Nation turning into a joke
I would watch both if I could afford it. Sky have improved their coverage because it was shockingly bad with domestic fighters on one promoter. Box nation need to be thanked for raising the game of sky.
