NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
The fight night gets a midday start with a welcome return of the networks covering fisticuffs! The BAD news is Adamek is a late scratch due to illness and in steps last minute sub Garrett Wilson 13-6-1 (7) taking on Glazkov 15-0-1 (7). I'm in the minority in thinking Glazkov did enough to win the Malik fight and its good getting the exposure. Not sure what to expect from Wilson, looks like he's moving up, two days notice and his lone tko loss came at the hands of a cruiser version of Omar Shieka :-X. Hope for a good one, stranger things have happened!
Karl Dargan 13-0 (7) meets Michael Brooks 10-0-1 (2) in a battle on undefeated Lt weights. Now get out your ear plugs and prepare to ignore B.J Flores on the mic ;D
I show a start time of 1:30 pm.

Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Brooks seems like the kind of southpaw who isn't sure what to do with it. Dargan over playing the set up counter but he is a level or 3 above here so far

Malik won that fight easy!
Sheika always had KO power, but losing to him all the way at cruiser is a bad sign for a heavy.

Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Brooks trying to make a fight of it, touching Dargan more and solid pressure with body shots but he is being outsped and boxed off
Steve Cunningham in action Dec.14th...was offered Glazkov but said "I'm not trying to cash out on 4 days notice, still have things to do"

Again, we disagree ;D. Didn't see that. Yeh Garrett looks like he is built like a bulldozer. He better guard that gut

Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Dargan coming in after excellent instruction from Richardson...your letting him fall back and regroup. Dargan has some lazy spots hanging around on the outside. Not moving or punching
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
7-1 Dargan and thats looking hard to find a round for Brooks. Brooks walking straight in 8th and reduced to yelling at Dargan and taunting him to 'come on come on'
1st time 10 for Dargan...think he can do juuuust a bit more here.
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Scrappy end of ten, Dargan pretty much in control entire way except being caught with some wide right hands. 99-91
Judges read 98-92 99-91 x 2. Good learning bout for both

Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Wilson in at 204 lbs...heres to "have guns will travel" type guys who step in
This can really go either way, brutal and early or suprise
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Very wild and bombs away start from Wilson but slowing late in 1st...he has landed solid though, Glazkov trying to establish punches down the middle which will shut that down. Wilson not just here to cash a check...but its early
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Wilson jabbing hard early 2nd, nice stuff...Glazkov cut on left eye ???
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Glazkov puts power on late 2nd, huge right hand. Wilson slowed to a trickle
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Glazkov reaches to adjust his trunks and Wilson just cracked him and bulls him into the ropes...those body shots are about to fold Wilson in half!!
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
3-0 but Wilson is as rough as they come and explodes at random...Glazkov on track with solid jab and body work but AGAIN..Wilson lands looooong left hook.
This dude isn't a punk or a pug...Glazkov cut from headbutt
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Glazkovs eyes are a mess!. Hard hard 4th...thinking the underdog nicked it there 3-1
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
WTF ;D Wilson circling and showing a bolo punch, Wilson is landing those long wild left hook right on Glazkov from the outside...Wilson has a head like a engine block.....good lil scrap 4-1
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Glazkov pours on the power and cannot miss Wilson but as soon as Wilson stoops and looks effected he bounces up, smiles and throws some huge crazy wide bomb. Glazkov keeping his head, smart. 5-1
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Jesus dude ;D this guys a mad man...huge uppercut sneak on Glazkov but no effect
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Nice having this on standard cable. Wilson never came to lay down.
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Wilsons most tame round in 8th. Glazkov should have stopped worrying about that shock absorber head 5 rounds ago. Glazkov has two cuts over left eye..one over right. Hes in control, but whew
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
8, 9 cleanest rounds for Glazkov...Wilson has a huge ring personality, working the crowd like a pro. But he is looking tired
-
Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Well that was fun, Wilson wins the fans and audience...Glazkov wins the fight.98-92 here. Wilson will get many many calls for his services off this one.
Solid needed rough customer for Glazkov, very early heavyweight career

Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Glazkov is almost a carbon copy of Boytsov. Hell they even look alike. Wilson did a nice job for such short notice. Images of Bert Cooper. Thought I was going to have a Willie Dewitt flashback for a moment.

I agree it was a fun fight for a last minute deal. Nice for a Saturday afternoon. Thing about short notice is that it goes both ways.

Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
Not a bad scrap, Wilson came to fight and made it entertaining, pretty much saved the card on 4 days notice. Sure he's in good graces with the network and promoters etc now, he should really be at cruiserweight and could be in some fun fights there.

Re: NBC Fights: Glazkov vs. Adamek
I watched this fight...Glaskov is running on borrowed time. Can't fight a lick. Preparing for one opponent, then getting another (especially one that has nothing) is no excuse. The guy doesn't know how to fight and, apparently, Don turner has either given up or become so aged that he doesn't bother to tell him...
he should have been out of there in 4-5 rounds. The guy had nothing as an answer to the 1-2 except to put his hands up in front of his face, but glaskov kept throwing the hook over his head, or that slap to the body off his front foot. Dig that hook to the body, just one time, and the other guy will crouch deeper to get his body away from your left hand. then you bring the left hand up, follow with a right hand and go home.
