It's the perfect fight for Manny if Manny is Manny after that knockout by Marquez. If he isn't Rios will spark him. Basically, the intrigue is whether Manny is the same Manny after suffering such a devastating knockout.
-
I feel sorry for rios.
That guy is really damaged.
On the 24/7 episodes inbetween rounds saying hes enjoying taking punishment.
Rios needs to find another job as this sport is killing him.
Pac will find this lightweight easy to hit.

Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
If Pacquiao fights smart this should be an easy fight for him. He needs to avoid getting into a fire fight with Rios
-
Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
Manny should come out boxing in & out and see how Brandon reacts to his movement. No need to trade unless Brandon shows to be gun shy!
This IS a big fight for both and Manny has something to prove to himself! He made the mistake against Juan and paid dearly for it!
If Brandon could fight with Manny for 10 rounds and give a good account for himself it will open better doors. If he gets stopped early the "bad doors" will open! Dangerous fight for both men.
Be safe, fight hard and the best will win! Ray.

Agreed, do you remember his post fight tirade after the second Alvarado fight. My cat made more sense. I wonder if he's in touch with a neurologist

Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
I think Rios is not that intelligent anyway, although in his interviews he has come across OK.

He has serious mental issues and is punch drunk at this young age.
Sad to see.

Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
Rios is borderline retarded to begin with, doubt he's a further medical case or anything like that. Manny would have to be an absolute mess to lose this, he'll have a heavy bag in front of him. Brandon is not really a puncher, unless Pacquiao has been physically jolted I don't see why he'd even be gunshy. It should be brutal one way or another, would be sad to see Pacquiao lose to a guy like Rios that's for sure.

I'm absolutely not going to tell either one of these guys how to fight! Would it do any good?
I hope it's a good fight with plenty of action. I hope the refereeing is good and the judging is perfect.

I'm flying to Macau tomorrow to teach Manny how to fight, I expect it will make all the difference.

Oh boy, I better change my bets to Rios.

Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
This has all the makes of a brutal mismatch beating. People are questioning whether Pacquiao will be Pacquiao in this... fair enough, he took a brutal KO from JMM.
But Pac has always came back strong from losses. He got KTFO twice back in the 90s and only got better. After he lost to Morales, his skills went through the roof. So I'm not convinced that this KO from JMM will take the fight out of Manny. I think he'll be more calculated and he's going to tear Rios apart. I'd be amazed if Rios makes it to the final bell.

No Rios has showed some class in this build up. He took no part in the Ariza vs. Roach debacle. Master is right.
However, Rios is a punk still and he's in for a beating. If Pacquaio is merciful then Rios may see a lopsided decision loss. If not.... KO.

Wishful thinking but those KO's were nothing compared to the complete "Explosion to the head " he took by Marquez. Bragging about beating a pedestrian Rios wow.... You must have front row positioning in Pac's jock .
-
Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
I don't know when I look at him there is something missing and his eyes tell the story. I think Pacman will win but its going to be tougher than expected.

Who the fuck is bragging about Pac beating Rios? I'm giving my opinion on what is going to happen. I'm very far from a Pac nuthugger.

He shouldn't have been.

He wasn't merciful. he was cautious and interested in saving himself. Going for the kill almost got him killed vs Marquez. He didn't sit down on any punches tonight and he was real discreet in his movements. I don't suspect pac will ever KO anybody ever again.

I think that's a slight exaggeration to say he'll never stop anyone again.
I'd call it merciful and self preservation. I mean Pac spared Mosley, Margarito and Bradley before he ran into that counter from Marquez.
Good win for Pacquaio tonight, I really wanted him to stop Rios. That would have made more of a statement.

let me ask you this...In the bradley fight there were rounds where Pac coasted, took them off. He did the same tonight. It seems to me like he fights a round, then coasts, tries to steal it. But he doesn't fight a whole fight. I don't think he is sure of his ability to go 12 hard rounds- he is 35-and I think that he is catching on to the wisdom of the Mayweather approach...Win with minimal risk..
-
Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
Pacquiao didn't lose his focus. Excellent discipline.
-
Pac done what he had to do against a human punchbag.
If pac had lost he would have to retire.
Its good he won because now he is back in the mix.
I believe if he stays away from the two Ms and any smart fighter he will keep winning.
He needed this win to propel his confidence back.
Pac comes across as a nice guy and is very open and honest so you cant really wish bad on him.

Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
Great victory for the Philippines.. I know Pinoys were down for a year after their best fighter got KOd but Im glad Pac restored their pride..
Pac is once again the Mexecutioner..

Let me ask you this: if train A leaves the train station at 2 pm traveling 250 Kilometers/hour and train B leaves the train station at 3 15 pm traveling.....lol
I saw Manny take off a lot more rounds in the Bradley fight than last night. I only saw him coast one or two rounds against Rios.
Not everyone is as tough or covers up as well as Rios. I believe Pacquaio would stop Amir Khan, Devon Alexander or Adrien Broner.

Re: Pacquiao looks focused, motivated and ready ...
Clearly he was, haven't seen such a domination in a while. Didn't put him a way though did he? Is the power there to KO a Mayweather?
