Jeff Lacy - Boxer

Is there any point?
I was going to say he's fighting a guy who's 20-16 so he picked an easy comeback fight, but then I noticed his last fight he dropped a UD to a guy who is 23-19, so I guess the outcome isn't as clear as I first thought.
Money mate. You can be 99.999% certain that's why he's coming back.
Lacy probably hopes for a rematch against Galzaghe as it was quite close.
Ha!! That was a good one. I wonder how Lacy would be thought of, if he had never fought Calzaghe?
Hell, I wonder how Calzaghe's career would have gone if that fight had not happened.
Their careers would have gone in different directions, Lacy's down and Calzaghe's up anyway, but not on the fast track.
Any thoughts.
Calzaghe ducked lacy for the rematch.
Lacy shoulder was not 100%
Lacy showed potential in the fight and if it went 15 rounds who knows what that left hook would have done.
Lacy tore his rotator cuff early in the fight I think, either way he got utterly humiliated.
It's amazing how far Lacy fell off after that fight. I remember when he was very highly regard
Lacy was very open to a boxing match with mma fighter Nick Diaz.
I think he needed the money and truly fancied his chances.
Yes, it was a great fight for Calzaghe, he was all the boxing fans in the USA could talk about for a while.
I didn't mind that Lacy lost the fight, but the way he was totally outclassed made me feel for the guy. It was a real spanking.
Everyone knows he was never the same afterward.
I'm with Kirkland here, this is clear evidence he's mismanaged his money.
I doubt that Lacy was never the same after Calzaghe, the truth is he was never in that class to begin with. He'd gone life or death in several fights leading up to it, Rubin Williams, Omar Sheika and Donnell Wiggins all had him in huge trouble, those were life and death fights and quite entertaining if you actually watch them. I can see how the odds would've been close and why it was such a hyped up fight against Calzaghe, but I'd bet there were a good bunch of people who knew boxing and made serious money on that affair.
This is a 40 min drive up in Baton Rouge! Called them and only tickets left are $20 General admission tickets with crap seating...not sure if I want to spend a night at a clinic Christmas party or shaking hands with a shot fighter and asking him "so why didn't you just kick Joe" ???
3rd round TKO, he's back. Time for a title shot! ;D
Am I the only one that remembers him talking about how he needed to retire if he couldn't beat RJJ in 2009?
Yeah, give the guy a break.
He was once one of the top 10 names in boxing for a short while. Was supposed to be a new mini Tyson.
If the guy he fought can fight without us complaining because of all his losses then jeff Lacy certainly can;)
Here you go!
He fought like he has done since Calzaghe. Lethargic, barely trying to get out of the way of shots. He started putting shots together as the fight went on. The only way I see him progressing above this level of opponent is to use a defence and actually move his fucking head!
Also, watch as the ref holds the two fighters at the end as the result is announced, Verdin looks as though he has gynecomastia!

i think that was lacys first stoppage win since before calzaghe! amazingly enough
Bring on Manfredo
Bullshit stoppage. Worse than the Groves one. ;D
Hahahaha he even picked the towel up and looked over at the corner as if to say "did you throw that in here"
3rd round KO! I have a soft spot for Lacy.. if he can manage to beat someone like oosteizen and Edwin rodriguez, he should be taken seriously ...
Lacy vs Chavez jr!
Problem os he doesnt really look as if he wants to be in there. Sluggish.
I remember when he fought Reid and put together hooks and uppercuts with blistering speed. Thats what most impressed me about him. Not his power but the speed he could put 3 or 4 hooks together!
Hes never had head movement and thats what he needs if hes going to do anything because as it is even Chavez would embarras him now. Its his first fight back, maybe, hopefully there is better to come but I think hes a fighter that needs a busy schedule to improve.
You get fighters like Maywether who can take a few years off and come back to embarrass a top p4p fighter. Fighters like Lacy, Mike Tyson, George Foreman etc, need to fight often as if to be constantly reminded of what works in there.
I hope somebody gave the ref a lift back to the old folks home after the fight.
