John Wayne in The Cowboys. I was shell shocked as a kid as never seen him die in a film before, thought that man was indestructable.
The entire crew in Blake's 7
Omar in The Wire (knew it was coming though)
Hank in Breaking Bad
Rita in Dexter
and David Essex at the end of Silver Dream Racer
Muriel Goldman in family guy.
The two hounds at the end of "Where The Red Fern Grows." I read that in 6th grade for the first time and, as I typed that first line, I got choked up.
E.T. the alien, Mufasa in the Lion King, Littlefoots mom in the land before time, and even Bambi's mother. Those were all so cruel to children. Humanized cartoon animals or creatures dying is much more emotionally scarring than real people, it's not even close.
Maud Flanders death was very upsetting.
It sucked when Maximus died. TV wise when they revealed Dan Conner died at the series finale of Roseanne. And Shane Walsh in the Walking Dead.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g450eyrN7Pg I remember sitting in the living room as a kid when this episode aired, you woulda thought mom had lost a family member!
Old Yeller.
Kyle Reese.
Belit.
Debra Campbell.
Sergeant Elias.
When christopher walken shoots himself playing the Russian roulette in The Deer Hunter..
I was a kid when I first watched it but that scene stuck with me for a very long time and turned me into an instant fan of walken...
The toughest fictional death I remember was when Elvis "died". I have to say I'm still "all shook up" about it.
When Bruce Lee died I remember a lot of people saying he faked his death, but I never believed that.
Okay; I don't believe that Elvis is alive, either.
"Where the Red Fern Grows", "Old Yeller" and "The Yearling" were all tough. I guess maybe I'd have to go with "The Yearling" if I could only go with one, but it's been a long time since I've seen them.
Merle Dixon's death in The Walking Dead was pretty sad.
They never actually showed her dying but I hate the fact that Sara had to leave Nelson so she can die of her cancer without him.
To this day that bothers me a lot when I think of it....
Montana in Blood in Blood out
Im not looking forward to Hayleigh dying in Corrie I can tell you that much.
Cant believe no one has mentioned Mighty Mick?
When Cotton got killed in Bless the Beasts and the Children I got a little choked.
Apparently there is some kind of footage of the coyote getting the roadrunner. That would be pretty epic.
Butch cassidy and the Sundance kid hurt me when they died.
Mase windu in star wars3
Mickey in rocky 3
Yes that too was sad! I didn't think The Governor would die this episode, and normally I'd have been disappointed that he didn't make it to at least the last half of the season. But after killing Hershel like that, it was sweet relief when Michonne ran that samurai blade through him.
