Since there was no rematch in the contract with Broner...I think he should push for Mayweather.
Mayweather needs name fighters and people loooove Maidana for destroying Broner.
Now's the time for Maidana to get paid.

Khan rematch after floyd
If Mayweather doesn't fight either Maidana or Khan, I would like this see this rematch. It's a good opportunity for both men IMO, for Maidana to avenge the loss and for Khan to get a title again. Would also be a really good fight as well.
He should go for Floyd, he distorts all logic because he is the best, the quest is to prove you are a real contender who will bring a real fight. Maidana has gone a good way towards doing this, he should aggressively pursue PBF and at least guarantee a good retirement, he deserves it.
I'd like to see that Khan rematch.
i would like to see a khan rematch but most likely he is fighting mayweather next so that isnt going to happen. i also wouldnt mind a fight against mayweather but mayweather would destroy maidana because of styles (although whats new with mayweather fights). i would like to see him fight garcia but im sure that garcia will have an easier fight at welter before maidana. i would love to see a fight against thurman. or lets make a huge fight in argentina against matthysse.
Khan wont care who he fights after he looses to floyd...he will be so riiiich!

i watched their fight and it was almost like watching klitchko, the level of holding was outrageous
Hopefully Lucas Matthysse. If not him I'd love the Broner rematch as Saturday's fight was a good fight to watch. I'd also appreciate a fight between Maidana & Danny Garcia.

On the business side of things, Canelo!!! He could get at least 3 mil. And a win can get him 7 to 10 million against Floyd after.
Maidana view, he should push for Floyd. But Floyd has that big bro status at the same time, trying to build Broner up as the future. So he can't steal that fight away from Broner. He gotta get that fight for Broner.
Broner 2 make sense. Timing wise, could be the co feature for MayDay.

I don't like all of these rematches all the time. With all of the talent between 135 and 147, there really is no need for rematches all the time.
Khan is not a rematching kinda guy either. He should have rematched Peterson and Prescott, but he didn't.
Maidana's manager says there's a rematch clause. Schaefer says there isn't one. Tells you all you need to know about the possibility of a rematch.
Maidana deserves a big payday and he's doing his best to get one. He's apparently threatened to retire unless he gets Mayweather next.
How about Robert Guerrero?
Style wise a Thurman, on a Christmas wish list minus politics is say a near insane Provodnikov v Maidana. I can see the big draw appeal of Khan at his home base but otherwise, where is Khan and where is Maidana after Saturday night? Aim for a Garcia, aim high. Also Maidana is a different fighter than the first time...and so is Khan. The guy pulled off the 'miracle' twice now, destroying two young 'stars' after being looked at as a mere formality for them.

Provodnikov isn't on the list, he is THE list for me. I know both of them deserve bigger money fights but I can not think of a more pleasing fight to give us in the middle of the new year. I thought the dream scenario for the last Mayweather card was Garcia being annihilated by Lucas and then fighting Mayweather. The devastating KO punchers are few and far between and thought it would have made for great intrigue for Mayweather's next bout. There isn't really any intrigue for a Garcia matchup and definitely not for a Khan pairing. Give him Maidana, hes the next best thing and you know he's not going to quit. He won't win either but at least you can trust that he'll be checked in til the last bell.
did you watch the maidana/alexander fight? it was pretty boring with alexander just outboxing him. i think that mayweather would make it boring. maidana wouldnt be able to fight his fight at all.Quote:

Maidana reminded me of Jorge castro in the Broner fight- in fact, the whole fight reminded me of the castro v John david jackson fight. This is why...
Jackson, like Broner, was had some defensive liabilities. Jackson, like Broner, had his feet too far apart to move well, so they were standing in place trying to roll and slip, and counter. Because their feet were wrong, they had to square up to counter, so they ended up getting hit, and the counters were poking and slapping, not jolting.
Maidana did the same thing Castro did against Jackson. Big wide looping right- if it lands, great. If not, you use it as cover to shift your feet into a southpaw stance (ala Bob Fitzsimmons a century ago) and throw your left from that angle. That is how Castro KO'd Jackson- in fact, he hit him off that move throughout the fight, just as Maidana did to Broner.
Just because a guy is stylistically crude doesn't mean that he isn't thinking real sharp.
Good points grey, that makes sense now that you mention it. Maidana used his left hook a lot more than I expected or had seen him do before and he actually had much better feet than Broner. In the first KD as Paulie pointed out on the mic, he had Adrien bite thinking he was jabbing to the body and turned it into a hook, hadn't seen him do that before and it's a move I really like. Morales used to be really good with that as well.
