He should go down to 140. Or quit. Perosnally I think he will bitch out, never be the same.
Broner was more impressive at the lower weights he should try and go down if he can, otherwise he needs to be far more active at welterweight in terms of throwing punches and moving his big fat arse.
I will agree with you he could punch at light weight, but at Welter I don't think so Broner could
have dominated at light weight, but when your full of yourself as he is, people just loved it when
he lost. I don't think Broner puts fear into opponents, after his defeat more so at welter, a drop
down in weight maybe. If not he's going to get sparked, there are bigger punchers out there than
Midana, at welter.
His problem isn't punch power, it's punch delivery. He is arrogant and it manifested itself in laziness. He got fat and he didn't iron out technical difficulties. When he fought up the middle he did well. But he's stupid. If he knuckles down and works on his his craft he will have a better delivery systems and because his power then gets there people will think it arrived when it was always there. It doesn't matter if you hit like Gerald McClellan if you don't deliver the punches
The analogy is the a young actor wanting to be Robert De Niro, but not learning the fundamentals of acting and practising the range of his skills to become a better actor. So when he gets the big audition he blows it.
I'll say it again....."hubris" is his problem. I hope that changes to was. Nothing like a dose of reality.

I agree in theory but in practice I just don't think he has good footwork in him. I think he needs to get that left shoulder up a bit. Work on upper body movement, he's always seemed stiff. And have his trainer work over and over and over again on reflexive punch selection. He throws the wrong punches. You can get away with that when you physically overwhelm opponents but when things are more equal physically the guy that does the right things at the right times wins.Quote:

Broner is accustomed to bullying and walking guys down at the lower weights where he had the size advantage.. if he is going to remain at 147, he's going to have to change his approach.. he has to box more and use his skills.. his power at 147 is a non factor.
Its his delivery and not a case of 'learning from mistakes' but them being a part of his approach all this time and getting away with them. You fix those and make adjustments in your early learning fights in an ideal scenario...a PDL fight, the Escobedo fiasco and what it nearly and should have cost him...Maligianni living with him inside and putting a light on his holes...instead he changed nothing and said he meant to get hit cause it didn't hurt or some dumb shate...now he is already on the premier stage and they still exist at a massive price. No way can I see him getting a "do over" in weight class or a step back in level of opposition with high visibility. He will and must now learn on the job and play catch up..cram session...or he'll be a trivia question very shortly. We've seen this play out before.

His big problem is that he just doesn't throw punches.
Guys who use that defense shell (Toney, Floyd, Bhop, Locche, ect) used it as a way to counter and set up offense. Maidana found out pretty quick that he could fire away without consequence because Broner wasn't looking to counter, so he did. He came in and smashed Broner to the body and head, and Broner let him do it like an idiot and gave away round after round.
I can't figure Broner out. He's supposed to be "virtuoso", a guy with incredible speed and skill who can dominate his opponent. But in the last several fights, his gameplan seems to be to give away rounds until he makes it that he may need a KO to win.
I've never seen real virtuosos like Floyd, Roy Jones, Ray Leonard, ect do that. Why does he think that's a smart way to fight? It's unreal.
I've never seen Toney or Floyd sit there and let a guy smash them in the belly. If a guy tried to do that to them he'd end up eating leather to the point where he would be scared to do it again.
Broner's punches lacked any pop to them. He couldnt get out of the way of shots., too.
I never seen a guy get hit repeatedly all night long with that wild chopping right that Maidana threw. Broner is trying so hard to copy Mayweather, it is so obvious. Shit Broner better fight again!!! Maybe @140 but this guy had a ametuer career of 300 wins and 19th losses, so the way I see it is that he's taken more than a couple of losses. Broner cannot walk the street right now!!! All that shit he was talking I don't know what he should do next but quitting lol he better not he'll better a big flop like Prince Nazeem!!!

All I know is all the people that say this kid is done this kid was exposed should take a bow. Every time HBO or Showtime lines up yet another complete mismatch take a bow. Every time we're stuck waiting for a guy to step up his competition take a bow. Every time the fans miss out on a good fight take a bow.
It's a 23 year old kid who lost a fight. Big whoop, learn from it and move on. Or don't and crash, whatever. But losing a fight is no big deal. Tie the boots a little tighter and work a little harder.
