Re: Eddie Chambers signs with Team Fury
Not very well, he can't have many places to go though. He's occasionally been a solid fighter, but he can't hang with decent big HW's anymore and wont help Tyson with that either. Is this more of a training/sparring partner arrangement, does Team Fury have any other notable guys?

Watch the videos.
Out of all the people Wlad has fought over the last few years Chambers gave him the most problems with his speed and willingness to actually punch. I think his fitness more than anything slowed him down. If he kept up that movement for the whole fight he could have beaten Wlad.

Re: Eddie Chambers signs with Team Fury
Can't watch the video right now, will later. As I said Chambers was a good fighter despite always having fitness problems, but I thought that was one of Wlads lesser performances as well, he was so timid for most it. He probably could have gotten Chambers out of there a lot earlier if he was actually putting things together. Got the KO as soon as Emanuel Steward got on his ass about it though.

Fury getting good quality sparring will help him.

That has everything to do with Eddie not being afraid to get in range and actually throw punches. He has quick hands and nice combinations and he wasn't scared to get close. Even lifted Wlad up in the air like a rag doll and slammed him in the deck;D

Re: Eddie Chambers signs with Team Fury
Tyson said his little brother Hughie Fury is going to make his pro debut soon and hes 18. Its going to be confusing having two Hughie Furys...I wonder what he will be like

Team Fury don't have any notable fighters apart from Tyson and Hughie so its an interesting move. I think Peter Fury's getting quite a good rep, it will be interesting to see if they all do the same shows / training camps and whether Peter Fury will train Chambers. I think for both the Fury's and Chambers the move makes sense in terms of preparation for fights, following the Haye camp I seem to remember Eddie saying how he wished he's sparred more with big heavyweights of good ability whilst the Fury's seemed to like honing their skills against a smaller, faster type fighter.

Re: Eddie Chambers signs with Team Fury
Eddies a nice guy but after seeing him schooled at his own game by a relative unknown I don't see him doing much. Its one thing to swap divisions while up & coming or after big success but on a losing run and nearing 33 yrs old with the punch of a Nerf gun it seems a bit desperate or scrambled grabbing. Glad he got a contract though and it'll def result in a decent oppurtunity.

Cool thanks. I tend to wonder how much it really helps to spar with guys who are nowhere near your size, or the size of the guy you'll be fighting next. If Fury seriously wants to prepare himself for a chance to be great he should be sparring huge guys who can really punch, not someone who lacks power at 200 pounds. He's never going to be as fast and mobile as a Chambers or Cunningham, and it's not as simple as saying if he can avoid their punches he'll have better defence against bigger slower men, all the mechanics are different.

Re: Eddie Chambers signs with Team Fury
After joining the Fury camp out of shape and a weak, sub 200lb's. Peter Fury has upped his workrate in training and got him back to a healthy over 220lb. Not sure what his actual weight was but looks far healthier than he did.
In the second comparison pic Chambers says he joined the camp at 195lbs and after 3 weeks was 225lb just from eating a more healthy diet rather than the shit veggy diet he concocted himself to drop down to cruiser.

They were too fast for him. He actually started at CW... he was a blown up HW. But, he has been at HW for too long- and he can't just go down in weight to face guys that are faster, more comfortable at the weight in addition to the pace of the fight.

Exactly!
Peter Fury is trying to keep him busy.
It was supposed to be Ian Lewinson but he pulled out and so did 14 others!
At least Moses is regarded as durable. Eddie is a real handfull now hes with a proper team.

Yeah Lewinson was suffered an injury and about 14 / 15 opponents turned down the chance. I heard Team Fury are trying to get David Price or Chagev as Eddie's next opponent.
