Kovalev vs Stevenson being sought by Hbo
Robust Dan reported it first at Espn but its now appearing in the Quebec press. The timing seems right because unless the super mids start to move up both these guys will have ran out of opponents. Hops in there as a spoiler and the winner of his fight with Shumenov leaves a small chance for an undisputed champion. I think the market and lack of major cash fights may be forcing this which is a good thing.

GYM hopes to present the struggle between two powerful hitters at the Bell Centre in Montreal, but other markets such as Las Vegas and Toronto have also shown interest.

The confirmation of this fight will not happen in the coming days , nor in the coming weeks as the discussions are still in the embryonic stage. Certainly Stevenson can count on the support of HBO .
"At the end of the year, Ken Hershman , president of HBO, said it was a priority for the network to put this fight on foot in 2014. It is there, we have preliminary discussions and advance slowly . "
In the words of its promoter , Stevenson has big goals for the year 2014. He was named Newcomer of the Year by the World Boxing Council in 2013 plans to continue its momentum .

I don't know why but I want to see Adonis lose. I liked when he beat Dawson but I dislike him more each time I see him. I guess that will keep me watching his fights. Strange how that happens with some fighters.

Would love to see this fight, I'd back Kovalev personally. Do you think there's any chance of these guys moving up a weight class? The top guys in their division seem to be way out in front of a lot of the challengers

Same here. He has a conviction for pimping, which means he's obviously scum, but I think it's mostly because his name is Adonis. Fuck him and whoever named him:D
I actually think Kovalev is much better than he is anyways and would win that fight in style.

A very good matchup. Something is strange about Kovalev. He literally breathes on his opponent and their legs go a flutter. I am sensing that he is in some way violating the rules of physics.

They both have serious power but I think Kovalev is the better boxer. I think this fight turns into a war and Kovalev sparks him.

Stevenson moves well for a big puncher, but he really has no right hand to speak of, like none at all. I think he's probably flattered himself as far as his skills go against Cloud and Bellew, he wouldn't be able to back peddle and pick his spots like that against Kovalev or Hopkins imo.
Still don't understand why people think Hopkins has a better chance against Kovalev for that matter, a southpaw who looks for single shots is stylistically lunch for him.

I think why I'd favour kovalev is because he can KO you with both hands, if only Stevenson had a mean right hook then it would be a far harder choice for me to pick. I think however Stevenson has a far better defense in terms of not being hit at all vs Kovalev's not being hit cleanly.
Still though, Kovalev is giving me a Tyson vibe.

I think Kovalev should fight either Pascal or the winner of Braehmer-Maccarinelli. A fight against Braehmer would answer some questions about his chin.
