How many of the older fucks here remember watching that on TV?
I think Justin Beiber will be as big. Just you wait and see. :D
The show starts in about a hour from now. Can't wait. They change the world and me forever.
I was born after the Beatles broke up but I am a Beatle fanatic. Actually, I am the 3,789 Beatle.
Think I was five when they arrived,by the time Sergent Peppers and flared trousers were into Australia I was in sixth grade heading for high school. My mum and my mates mum made flared school pants for us both,we grew our hair long over the Christmas holidays and walked into high school very popular with the girls there and even more popular with the high school bullies. Should have worn a target instead.
They really were a cover band to start with. Memphis is right off Chucks hook.

Good mix from different times there.
Love how in sync and harmony they are on the song 'Help' live. @16.05
I've got all the albums on vinyl on original pressings :)
If you go left and right on the balance you get drums and guitar on one side and vocals and bass on the other, actually I got loads of 60s stuff holed up...Stones original albums , The Who etc also got shitloads of ticket and programmes from gigs my mum and dad went to back in the day.
100% the reason I started djing , I used to play tunes at their wild house parties when I was about 10 flicking from vinyl to cassette and back after my dad laid out the tunes for me, my dad used to drag me round all the underground record shops in London as a "Day Out" and I used to love it :)
His Vinyl collection was incredible and we had a decent size lounge and back to back you could have made 4-5 wall to wall rows easily with just the LPs.
The Who at the Isle of white festival and Hendrix at the roundhouse in London are 2 gigs they swear blew them away and that Who set is on you tube and awesome still.
For stage presence they both agree that Springsteen at Wembley on July 4th in the 80s was the best thing thet ever saw and funnily enough the were standing just to the right of Frank Bruno in the special enclosure lol.
I like Revolver as an album but dont agree they were the best band ever.
I think the Stones had equally as good tunes maybe better and the Who without doubt had a better drummer, bassist , lead and were miles ahead in terms of stage presence and live shows.
I saw the Who ( the two) at Hyde Park 10-12 years ago after Entwhistle died and that had Ringos son on drums and blew every new band off the stage.
Amazing
Dont get me wrong I love the Beatles and have great memories of watching the yellow submarine cartoon movie after me and my mates had raided my brothers room and taken some trips out of his spliff box :)
Did any of you older members see the Beatles live anywhere?
I know my Dad saw them , dont think my mum did.
She was a huge George Harrison fan and still cant stand McCartney to this day.
I can still remember clearly her and her mate picking me and my best mate up from infants when I was 5 . Both in tears , was just after they heard John Lennon had died, we ran ahead and robbed some flowers from someone's garden to give em to our mums on the way home hahaha
The quality of their song output (especially considering they were only releasing albums for 7 or 8 years) is off the charts. Legendary band, there's nothing you can say about them that hasn't already been said.
You very nearly quoted a line from all you need Is love at the end their ;)
For sure 2 of the best songwriters of all time.
This is cool for me discussing all this because Im at my mums now and I've showed her this thread.
Shes gone into one big time haha... telling me how when her and my dad used to be in the queue at the record shop in Vauxhall Bridge Road near Victoria Underground station in London at 6.30 am on the Monday when a Beatles album was realesed just to reserve a copy as they weren't allowed to be sold until after midday when half of London would sprint over on their lunch break to grab their copy.
Must have been a buzz from clicking a few buttons and nicking tunes for free off soulseek :)
I side with your mom btw, George Harrison is my favorite Beatle. I really enjoyed a lot of his solo albums.
Is there any doubt. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWaEh8ssv5M
