Friday Night Fights thread

A thread for the Teddy Atlas show and maybe even some boxing. Basketball currently on, but boxing is just around the corner.

Basketball is such a drama show. Not to mention boring as fook.

I used to love basketball as a child, but now it just pisses me off. Who gives a shit about either one of these teams anyway. Put on boxcino!!!!

I still love basketball but the more you learn about how dirty it is it makes me wonder why. The NCAA is inept. With three minutes of research you can find loads of dirt on Kansas and Kentucky but the NCAA doesn't bat an eye when all the best players go there.

Boxing is on!

Woah..Rudd built like a middle in the shoulders. But on paper Amidu is levels above

Good fight, streams a bit choppy though, so struggling to score it.

Rudd sabotages his height badly...but I think hes winning here about 3-2

Edit: Have Chris Rudd by 4-2 ??? Just..cleaner, volume and had him staggered bad. Now if it was a 12'er, an old vet like Amidu might have caught up

Rudd just put on a show that round. No idea what Amidu was thinking knowing he needed a KO

I like the idea of a decider round if its a draw :D

They should do that with 8 rounders and 10. It may be a tournament rule in this case but I kinda like it

Yes, it worked well. Rudd boxed smart that round and thankfully it was a round that didn't freeze. On that basis, I have him the winner too. :p

The draw breaker round is cool but I became very uncomfortable when they mentioned fans deciding it if it was still a draw after 7. That would suggest at least one judge scored the 7th even which suggests it was a very close round since judges are encouraged not to score rounds even. So fans deciding a very close round, no thanks. That's not professional.

It def puts added pressure on judges and fighters. A great step in thinking out of the box but in no way should fans...let alone Facebook fans...decide a fight. Might as well just flip a Buffalo nickle and call it.

I have not scored a round even in about 6 yrs. Just have to find some distinction or advantage. Divide the round if need be

Whoever wins this fight is gonna woop Chris rudds ass in the next round.

Nip and tuck close, they throw hard, take it, and throw on back. Difficult to score.

I tend to call several first rounds even throughout a given year.

Don't know Petrovs stamina but I have him taking control. Guy is good.

Petrov maybe slightly busier and landing more, but close.

Those are usually when I'm trying to get that first even pour of the night and finding the flip flops too ;D

Petrov landing bombs in that round! Momentum seems to be with him, should be fun.

No idea what happened in that final round, too choppy. :(

I thought Petrov was landing cleaner the whole fight. Not that it was ever wide(other than the 5th)

Fair play, good fight, but from what I saw he seemed to be edging it and upping it each round.

Wild change for Petrov going from the stout powerful fireplug Papazov to the extremely tall rangy Rudd.

This is a damn good match with vets, wish it was a 10'er

Be interesting to see if Petrov finds that accuracy once Rudd starts giving up his heights and trading inside. Petrov has nice hand speed

Every win by KO, pretty impressive.

1-1 for me. Mendoza so wild though. I swear that some of those punches missed by about a metre. Fun fight.
