... ok, here is my total- 112-114 SUGAR RAY LEONARD.
Contentious rounds: Rd 1 I gave to Leonard; Round 8 was a 10-10 even round; and Round 12 was a 10-8 round for Leonard, because he was pounding Hearns to a crisp and there was little or no comeback for Hearns.

How did you score the rounds? I remember seeing it as it happened without scoring it but I knew Hearns won. He hurt Ray a few times in that fight. Ray admitted back then and I saw an interview in the recent years and Leonard even still to this day admits that Hearns won that fight.Quote:

You are wrong Hearns won that fight with ease. the last round should.d not be 10-8 Hearns was fighting back and was in control. Look again and never utter such nonsence again.

There was no controversy there. None whatsoever. Folks were HOPING Hearns would have won for whatever sentimental reasons. But he didn't.... he lacked the finish.
The crowd booed the decision,, Leonard admitted he lost and Hearns knocked down Sugar Ray plenty of times. How dominate do you want it?

You can't just discard or even gloss over the fact that even Ray admitted he lost. I've never met a fighter who admitted he lost a fight he should have won. I remember an interview where he went into more length about it. This is a clip of one interview I saw. I didn't want to take a lot of time on this one. Really, its not worth the energy. Ray is an egotistical man so for him to admit that is a big thing. Remember he chose Hearns because he had been knocked out by Barclay and struggled badly against Kinchen.

Don't think a draw was that bad of a call i wish the fight was a 15 rounder because Leonard would of put him out. Anyway that fight is a tad pointless because both were way out of prime by the time that fight came along. I don't think Srl won but a draw not totally insane.
Hearns won the fight, everyone, including as mentioned Leonard knew this. But the fight was scored under ten point must, thus it was painfully close. I had it 113/112, but there was two rounds where it could be argued Ray won a 10/8 no knockdown round, thus 112/112 was not totally unfair.
There was no round where Leonard would have won 10 _8 even the 12th.
Exactly, it's just one of those fights. Watching it as a whole you knew Hearns took it and had more big rounds, but I can see how it was extremely close on the cards. It was still a credit to both men considering how long had passed since the first fight, they matched up so well and really had to fight out of sorts against each other.

I would agree Tommy was not hurt quite as bad as it looked. It was them 'Bambi on ice' legs that made things look worse. Also Tommy like Bruno had to be programmed to clinch, and it made things even worse.
Tommy was my favourite fighter of the 80s, and I hated nutra-sweet Leonard, but because of ten point must, I concede the fight was very close.
