I think a more relevant question would be could Floyd stop Maidana?
Could Floyd take a Maidana punch? He is very certainly the hardest punching Welter-Jr Middle in the business. Can Floyd, like Broner, take a Maidana punch- flush on and come back?Quote:

Either Cotto or Canelo most likely wrecks Maidana and stops him.
Oscar was def a bigger puncher when he fought Floyd than Maidana is.

Maidana can punch. But by no means is he the hardest puncher Mayweather has faced. I wouldn't even put him in the top 5. But aside from Emmanuel Augustus he might be the most unorthodox. He throws punches from anywhere. If I tried hard enough I can maybe see him hurting Mayweather with a punch he doesn't see coming. But it wouldn't matter. Mayweather's defensive instincts would kick in. And that little window Maidana has would quickly close. The mistake Mayweather made would not be repeated. And the one-sided fight would continue it's predictable course.
I hope that a) you're wrong and b) of you are right, it happens early in the fight otherwise we'll be subject to the "OMG Maidana was coming on strong" comments.

A big punch will help but the only time i remember floyd getting hit cleanly was the hatton fight around the 8th round after floyd was on the brink off stopping him and the 2nd round with roid boy.
