Schaefer: Khan-Collazo 'done' for Mayweather Jr.-Maidana card - Ring TV
Interesting matchup but I see Collazo sending Amir packing, Just to slick and to good a counter puncher. Floyds no doubt next for the winner.

collazo gave Ricky Hatton all the trouble he could handle and I think he'll trouble Khan too.
Amir is bigger and a purer, skilled boxer than Ricky, but Collazo is a proper Gatekeeper type fighter
I suspect we will know the truth about Amir's chin after this fight, one way or another
collazo within 6rds by ko!!! people have overlooked this good fighter, and he aint happy bout it. he will be looking to make a statement!!! too bad for khan:)
Collazo I would not call a gate keeper. He's one of these guys that people avoid in many cases and one that is much better then he is given credit for. A Young or Burley type fighter or earlier Winky Wright. He's a great counter puncher and all around steady boxer. I think he would actually be a very tricky fight for Floyd and yet he is rarely mentioned as a possible opponent.
This is not a good fight for Khan to try and book himself a Mayweather payday. Nobody looks good against Collazo. Even if Khan manages to beat him he's not going to do it impressively, can't see him sparking Collazo but I can definitely see Collazo setting traps and Khan walking into something. He's only got average welter power but Willie Limond put Khan on his arse. Khan has also been floored in his last three fights, the last time at 143 which takes away his killing-myself-to-make-140 excuse
Khan has also left camp and is currently at home in Bolton. I suppose that'll be another good excuse for him if he gets beat this time.
Even though khan's style dont float my boat, this is exactly why I have much respect for him..
Look at his resume, and the guy doesnt duck anybody.. khan is a throwback fighter in his own way..
Can you imagine bernard and floyd with that kind of mentality? They are punks compared to khan..
On the streets, khan would be regarded as a true rider..
Yeah but for the Sake of his career, what is he really thinking can come of this. Unless Collazo goes all Judah and doesn't compete which is highly unlikely, I just see Khan's stock plummeting after this fight... One way or another.
Like I said before though, great fight for Collazo
Not one person here thinks Khan is going to win this. I'm with this consensus. Nobody here is sleeping on Collazo, for me this is a stupid fight for Khan to take. I hope he wins but he's been too inactive to take on a fighter like this. Hope I'm wrong as I like seeing Khan in big fights. He brings excitement & drama to every fight and is good for the sport.
This is a decent match up, but I don't know what it proves for either fighter. Clearly the winner gets Floyd and that's what bugs me because whoever wins it doesn't warrant a shot at Floyd on the strength of it.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves .. Collazo only beat a weak minded ortiz who was coming off of a long layoff..
Khan may be alot of things but he's certainly not a punk or a quitter like Ortiz.. He's anything but that.
Im rooting for Khan here..
Khan SHOULD be 2-3 fights away from a floyd fight so lets see if after a year of inactivity will propel him to deliver fighting at weight hes fought at before.
I wish him well but that last fight was really tough..
I'm picking khan to win and look great doing it. Khan by wide UD
This is a good stepping stone for Khan to get better in the division and weight. However if he wins he will think he deserves to fight Floyd which it does not.
I see garcia stepping up to 147 in next fight and hopefully a rematch occurs and winner fights floyd
I can see collazo being tricky and it's a risky fight for khan because on the face of it he is fighting a Ricky Hatton leftover from a decade ago and a guy who hasn't been relevant since a washed up Mosley schooled him etc etc so the expectation is on Amir to win convincingly. However after Amir's speed inevitably fades after the 1st few rounds it becomes a 50-50 fight.
I'm picking Amir in a fight that people will complain about the decision. Collazo is more awkward than a look through his record suggests. I don't put you much emphasis on the ortiz result cuz I never rated ortiz but the fact that nobody has dominated him shows his class. I don't think he's past it either so should be an interesting appetizer
Khan should win but I would love to see Collazo's ride continue
Can easily see Khan feeling the urge-need to revert and go on attack trying to track a very shifty and cagey Collazo down. Chances of Khan into something he doesn't see coming are very high, and then the wheels come off. Don't think this style choice of opponent was too well thought out at all and wouldn't be shocked if by fight night its someone other than Luis touching gloves with Khan.
Does that mean you think the fight won't happen, or you think it will be the ring doctor touching Khans gloves after he gets caught;) Either way, I could see it. Hope it happens though, and whether the winner "deserves" a Mayweather fight or not, it's an even fight neither can afford to lose.
ahh heres the other thread
