Russell Mora should have been handcuffed and taken in for questioning.. I dont know how much dough was in that briefcase but he literally closed his eyes whenever Abner Mares threw nutshots on Joseph Agbeko..
Some of you keep complaining about the low blows in Salido-Loma, well that was soft compared to MAres-Agbeko 1...
I don't think much of Jay Nady or Steve Smoger anymore. Jay Nady becomes a factor in every fight he referees now. The way Steve Smoger let Hopkins, do just about anything he wanted to against Murat, finished me with him.Quote:

I can deal with Nady... aside from that shit with Judah/Tyszu, which Judah was right for being stopped, then I see nothing wrong with the man.
The way Cole allowed Margarito to end up with PERMANENT facial damage as a result of the beating he took against Manny Pacquioa, was unconscionable. The minute he saw Margo's eye socket puff up like that, he should have ended that fight.
Margarito would most likely NEVER heal or be confident on that side of his face. NEVER!!!
An example in how a ref can help end a fighter's career... without it being a legitimate ko in the ring.
Cole really ain't all that bad. His mistakes get over exaggerated. Jay Nady and Pat Russell are terrible referees

Cole's favoritism is why he's such a dreadful ref. And it's well documented that he's got the connections in the state of Texas. So he gets consistently rewarded with more fights, even after doing a shitty job.
So far it's about 99-1 regarding Cole.
But for all intents and purposes................. it's really unanimous.
That guy who reffed the Raheem vs. Rocky Juarez match gets my vote for single worst performance.

joe cortez is pretty bad. is he still reffing?
im just not sure how there are so many bad refs. i feel like its not too hard, yet the refs seem to affect the fights all of the time.

I asked Pac & Tony after the fight Pac said Tony hit him harder than anyone ever had before he almost went down from a body shot. Pac went to hospital too after the fight.
The word quit is not in Tony Margarito's vocabulary

I just remembered something about lawrence Cole.. lol back when Marquez fought Jaca in 06, dude acted as if he put money down on marquez like straight the fuck up haha..
Marquez suffered a bad cut at some point then Cole took him to a neutral corner and let him know that he could quit and still win the fight because he was up on the cards anyways.. like wtf!
I remember that fight lol, didn't realize it was Cole. He was so friendly with Marquez telling him that to:D Smoger acts the same way with fighters sometimes, it makes me laugh.
From all I've heard about Laurence Cole, I think he probably is just a really bad referee who is well connected. I'd hate to be either boxer in one of his jobs though, that's for sure.
That Marquez incident gets over blown. Cole told Marquez he was up on the cards. Who gives a fuck? Everybody watching the fight knew Marquez was winning. It was no surprise.
After last night's Browne-Kalajdzic fight, I'd say Tony Chiarantano is the worst.

But Ian John Lewis stands out as the worst. He's just awful. The man is on huge ego trip. He get's off on the power he has. Always wagging his finger at the Boxers. He especially loves to do that with big heavyweights. He tries to give off this this tough, non nonsense "I'm in charge" ref, but then he'd stop a bout over a nose bleed.
Found a new contender for crooked ref 101 on Friday. One Macolm Bulner aka Malcolm Bulmar of Australia. He makes the ref in the Marcus Brown ghost KD fiasco look honest :-X Randy Petalcorin dropped Omari Kimweri a handful of times and he called 0 of them. Not a one. Oh and....his wife was one of the judges :vd: Cannot find the full fight, it was on FB but has been pulled down! Also this ref isn't listed as officiating since April 9th. And this fight is not on his 'record'. Like it never happened??? He might have a twin? Or maybe not

When does a ref stop the action to ask a fighter are you ok...but not rule a kd or anything?
Laurence Cole is never going to be out of work. He's the guy promoters go for when they want to protect their fighter. Sorry, one of the elite guys promoters go for when they want to protect their fighter.
They all seem to get worse as they get older.
When Abraham dropped Dirrell with a clean shot and Lawrence Cole ruled it a slip, Direll fans even looked perplexed. I've seen a couple of Cole's fight live. Horrible job both times.
Mills lane did a bad job in the Nunn Tate fight.
Once again big shout out for Mercante Jr for his shady dealings. Last night between rounds 11-12 of Andrade v Akavov he walks to corner turning from camera and clearly goes to cover his mic and says "I'm going to call it a night" and then the round starts. Akavov and corner look at him like he's crazy and he leaps in and waves it off half through the round. Same guy who let Hurtado get hammered like a railway spike and refused to accept corner stoppage as Yuri Foreman was hobbling around on busted knees being hammered by Cotto.

Mercante really buggered it yesterday, he was under orders to stop the fight and chose to stop it with around 30 seconds left and after akavov had blocked a jab :S..... Also its not just that he gave akavov a stoppage loss but I think in round nine where the git pulled out a pretty good three punch combo and had hurt showed that he could do something, even though its obviously a very small chance of that occurring :S... Andrade beat a good fighter quite convincingly and Mercante has gone and made him look like a plum when trying to make him look good.....
He's corrupt for surewhich is bad but he's also crap at being corrupt too :S.... He gets my vote.
None worse than the idiotic fossil Isaac Herrera who officiated the Andries v Hearns fight.
He was a total disgrace.

Who's the little bald dude with the giddy up in his step? Kenny Chevlier or something, he actually does a solid job. Who was the ref for Tarver v Harding II. Tarver was practically demanding he wave it while pummeling Harding. NFL refs are the worst.
