It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
He just turned 40? What do you guys think? I say no sadly....... But I do think he has a better chance then Tommy because Ike has been clean........

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
If he's 100 pounds overweight, then no... but if he kept it within the 250 range, give or take 10 pounds, he can do it.
Shit: Amir Mansour started boxing after his prison term and he is now OLDER than Ibeabuchi is. Ibeabuchi can do it. He can. Does he want to do it? That remains to be seen.
I feel, most definitely, after about 6 months, he can do a 8 rounder against sensible opposition. Not regular tomato cans, but sensible opposition- guys with over 20/25 fights and won more than half of them.

Of course he should

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
This is for sure? Any idea what kind of shape he's kept in prison, physically or mentally? Or whether he'll even be allowed to stay in America? It's not crazy to think he could shake off some rust and land himself some kind of fight in a year or two, assuming he isn't completely crazy himself:D Definitely don't expect to see it though, who knows if he could even get a licence.

If he can win a couple of comeback fights the drums will start beating ;)

... and the makings of a great story begins. This is bigger than Foreman's comeback. Bigger than Ayala... this is HUGE, if the story goes to fairytale.
;D

Texas will give him a licence. They'd license Charles Manson.

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
I don't think he should due to his criminal past and poor mental state. But money talks especially in boxing so it would never suprise me.

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
No. The guys a time bomb.
-
Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
No because I don't think he has anything left for boxing. Although Mansour is old, at least he was still doing some kind of training. I don't think that was the case for Ibeabuchi. After all that time it's just too late.

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
I wouldn't want to see that.
He would be able to do take a lot of punches, the man had great chin. But it would be sad to see him a punching bag.
It would be funny to see him fight Briggs though LOL 2 old giants slugging it out.

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
He may have kept in great shape and what is out there is awful.

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
We have to see some pictures with his shirt off.... even so, an athelete like him- give him 6 months and he will be back to at least doing 6 rounder's IF he kept up the customary prison shape.
Don't forget- guys come out of prison in shape.

He's to be deported back to Nigeria.

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
Even if he hadnt kept in-shape, I think he can get himself together and make another run.. I mean, why not?
He would be entering a majorly watered down era amongs the shittiest group of HWs of all times.. who knows, ike might have got access to the ring magazine in prison and kept tabs.. he might have laughed his ass off reading about a bunch of wankers in the top 10..
We are living in an era where a guy like Jennings is known as a great talent lol. In the 90s, Bermaine stiverne would have been Don King's drug pusher, not his fighter.. chris arreola would have been living off food stamps while making side money as a sparring partner.
Sure, Ike cant compete amongs these guyd.

@FinitoElDinamita "Living off food stamps" LOL there's nothing wrong with your sense of humour! =P

Should he tempt a Comeback?
Why not? All he has to do is win a couple of tough man contests or beat a couple of what could only be described as meager competition in the top 15 and he will get a title shot.

Re: It's Official, Ike Ibeabuchi is out of Prison.........Should he tempt a Comeback?
This little blurb is at the bottom of his boxrec page. I literally accidentally clicked it, and for some reason it caught my eye. Kind of sad. Spicoli is right, the fight with Tua was the precursor to all that demon talk and him acting batshit crazy. Why subject him to more?
