Wlad's next 6 fights...
Ok, most likely Wlad will not be around for another 3 years. Odds are he will be out of the sport by 2017, if not before. 2017 seems like a far distance away, but the years go by quickly and at best, one can have 3 top tier fights a year... probably no more than 2, depending on how tough the opposition is. But, his opponents must be quality... and in today's world, it ain't much in the HW division to be totally concerned about.
I think Wlad MUST FACE these 6 guys-
Kubrat Pulev
Deontay Wilder
Tyson Fury
Bryant Jennings
Bermane Stiverne
Chris Arreola
He must fight them. No question about it... all of this other fighting the Wach's, Leapai's and Pianetta's of the world won't cut it.

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
I would love to see him fight in this order:
Pulev
Stiverne-Arreola winner vs Wilder winner
Jennings-Perez winner
Fury
Glazkov
;)

I agree, THOSE are the opponents he should be facing. Fighting the lesser end guys is damaging his legacy!
Thumbs up!

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
well these guys also have to agree to fight wlad... I think if the wbc belt falls into dodgy hands then a fight for that champion v wlad might be near impossible, with all the sanctioning bodies involved it could just turn into a load of nonsense and to be realistic none of these guys are potential legends in the making, it's certainly a list of the best 6 that wlad hasnt faced but how many are going to do anything for wladimirs legacy S:... he beats wilder and fury then they will just be called hyped up oafs, beat pulev then pulev is just a guy with a padded record and no power(and pulev doesnt want the fight v wlad yet either), arreola is someone who has lost 3 times already and once to vitali... stiverne ?? no one really cares about him(harsh but true)... none of these fellows will really do much for wladimirs legacy at all.
I think wlad should just do the mandatory defences untill he gets the chance at the wbc belt(which hopefully will happen soon) luckily the mandatorys include pulev and the winner of chisora and fury.. It's a good list of opponents though and in an ideal world it would be good to see this happen..

Completly agree. I hear Don King is promoting Stiverne too so imagine what would happen if he got his hands on the WBC belt. Luckily the mandatories coming up are decent and want to make an impression rather than get a payday which sure beats him facing guys like Pianeta and Wach.

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Arreola MUST bash Stiverne for that reason. To keep that crook King away from the WBC belt.
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
one scared bum after another. give briggs a shot. now that he's actually in shape, i think it would be lights out for ole glass jaw klit. wlad is no vitali.
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Arreleo
Fury
Wilder
Jennings
Briggs
and if this fails Seth Mitchell

Seth Mitchell?? What?!?!?! lolololol.....
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Briggs has a chance to enter into the discussion, but he has to beat one of the to guys mentioned- he can't run from it. And from the 6 I mentioned, I don't feel Briggs can beat any of them aside from Wilder- who may have a suspect chin and won't be able to go the distance like Briggs can IF his asthma isn't acting up.
I STG- Wilder can NOT go past 8. If the fight is busy, he will begin to fade and get tagged by 6. I have a feeling this is what he is....

Dunno!??! He may as well if he cant' take a solid HW punch. I have never seen a glass jaw in the HW division like I saw in Mitchell. It's a fatal flaw.
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Does anybody see Wlad sticking about for 6 more fights? He is getting married and has money falling out his ass. He can't follow his brothers lead. His wife won't let him. he is the HW champion of the world but pussy is stronger than that.

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Remember when Wlad made a disgraceful defense against Jean Marc-Mormeck? Someone that David Haye destroyed at Cruiser? Why would he decide to face Mormeck?? Why would a sanctioning body allow that as a title defense?
:o

One that knows Wlad sells out arena's in Europe whoever he fights, the guy makes money in Central and Eastern Europe whilst taking very little risk. For that reason there hasn't been too much need for him to leave his comfort zone.

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Great list of opponents YK but some of those bouts are unrealistic... its like expecting floyd mayweather to face good fighters in his last few fights with showtime..
I think wlad will keep defending his titles against the weakest mandatories but then again, its not like anybody right now is capable of beating him so I dont mind who he chooses to fight..
Jennings? Lmfao I dont need to see Wlad face another Joe.. seen it too many times..
Stiverne.. no thank you... dime a dozen
If I must choose two, then it would be Fury and Wilder.. if he fights these two, his mission is complete..
Fury and wilder are the best HWs next to wlad regardless of resumes so if he beats these guys, he's done everything there is in this game..
Why should he fight jennings.. what can that do for his legacy? Absolutely nothing. It woukd just be a waste of space on boxrec..

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Deontay Wilder
Bryant Jennings
Bermane Stiverne
why

Stiverne has proven himself against Arreola.... Jennings is by far the most active, exciting and durable of the lot. Wilder because he is the media darling of the division now.

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Even if we ask why those guys I stated earlier, ask yourself this question: Why would anyone pick Wach, Leapai, Mormeck and/or Pianetta over those guys??

Leapai and mormeck are unnaceptable but is Jennings and arreola really that much better than Wach, if at all?
Apples and oranges bruh.. wlad just needs to face the two undefeated giants in fury and wilder..
If he beats these guys, he can actually brag a bit..

Wach went 12 rds with Wlad and wasnt even hurt.. dude's chin is like concrete and he's pretty hard dude.. not saying he's a good fighter but he's hard regardless..
When arreola fought and old vitali, he got stopped and started crying like an abused mexican hooker.
Jennings might be a tinnie winny better but I seriously dont think Arreola and wach are all that different..

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Wlad will never fight Wilder. Too big a risk for to little money. Wilder doesn't have a name yet.

Wilder has a name... you just don't want to accept it.

His ko's are getting enough attention... trust me...

Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Even with that. I really doubt Wlad will fight him with so many bums out there.
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Wilder is exactly the kind of HW who can appeal to the casual boxing fans due to his freakish size and genuine knockout power.
Hardcore fans wouldn't think much of him though.
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
I dont know what you fellows have been watching to make you think wladimir would not take one wilder... in my opinion since wladimir has become champion he has taken on anyone who was actually willing to fight and even shown great patience in getting these highly rated contendors into the ring(just look at the delays povetkin and haye caused)... wladimir fought them both and with haye they even ended up with some stupid 50/50 split even though haye was a bit of a chancer, wladimir made it happen... Don't be stupid here if wilder has anything to offer the fight v wlad will happen but the truth is wilder is just a bit of a nobody right now and doesn't bring a title or much money at all, he's shown himself to be very good at knocking old 1/4 world titilist and guys that chisora stopped.... if wilder does something worthwhile wladimir will be first in line to offer him a fight but the truth is he has nothing to offer right now :S... so why should wlad bother ? wilder has not even convinced the internet forums he has anything to offer....
wilder has bugger all to offer wlad except being a black american who isnt fat .
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Wilder and Fury I see as good tall opponents for Wlad to be sure, Jennings would be a solid opponent and Pulev is definitely a good opponent too.
But the strongest opponent for Wlad with the highest chance of an upset victory imo is Chris Arreola. He ticks more boxes than any other HW challenger on the current market. Debatable but that's what I'm seeing here!!
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
do we really have to endure it for another 6 nights of hugging
please please please someone put an end to this
-
Re: Wlad's next 6 fights...
Wilder, aside from Pulev, is the best opponent for Wlad. Power and size is what Wilder has.
Wilder has built a name for himself... sorta like how Tyson did before he fought Berbick. If you look at the names on Tyson's resume before he fought Berbick, they weren't a "who's who" of the boxing elite.
Who has Wach fought? Mormeck? Pianetta? Nobodies...
