Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC

Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
What, in a top level professional fight?
I would imagine he would be knocked out very quickly or submitted no matter what the code.
But I reckon there'd be a small chance he might be able to disable a great fighter early by striking a vulnerable point on their body.
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
Yes I often wonder how the film star Bruce Lee would do against a professional fighter.
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
I never bought into the bruce lee myth myself.. Lol @ the 1 inch punch .. more like 1 inch cock of a chinaman..
Bruce Lee I respect as a martial arts philosopher but I dont fancy his chances in a real fight..
He was an actor.. in a real Martial arts competition ( no hugging and other gay shit ) I put more stock into Jet Li who was taught in Shaolin.... U guys know what kind of sacrafice it takes to be in Shaolin?
Tony Jaa would fuck bruce up too..
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
Yeah I mean even going by his movies now, Bruce didn't look all that good. Norris used to be able to beat him anyway I heard. And for sure Jaa and Jet seem far better.
Man I have this Italian friend who is a Wing Chun black belt and he always tries to convince me how boxing punching technique is really bad and how it isn't very powerful and how his wing chun punches through the surface.
I try to tell him he throws push punches and arm punches but he wants to have none of it. According to him it's all in the "chi flow" or some shit like that.
They are all a bit delusional sometimes.

What??? This time I was not even TRYING to put tongue in cheek Bradlee!
What part of that completely inoffensive comment was not well received?
For the record I DO like Bruce Lee's movies from a nostalgic point of view.
His best on screen fight scene in my opinion was with Robert Baker (The Russian Petrov in Fist of Fury). This is his most realistic and action fight scene imo.
It was well done and showcased some snappy fast hitting and combinations but compared with say Tony Jaa's fight scenes in Ong Bak it really wasn't that special you gotta admit!

Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
Van damme has more fight experience than bruce lee.. he used to compete in competitions before acting..
I have more respect for JCVD...
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
I get pissed off that they have abandoned the boxing games to focus on UFC.
FNC is up there with my fav games.

Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
I'll tell you one of those martial artists who I think would definitely be a tough bastard. That Bolo Young bloke from Enter the Dragon and Blood Sport. He looks like he'd be able to bust a few bones for real!!
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
Bruce Lee for sure is the godfather of MMA. As far as how he would do in a fight against a modern UFC fighter, he'd get killed, but that's because a lot of knowledge and training technique has evolved since Bruce's time. Hell a top MMA guy from 10 years ago would get killed by a mid-level MMA guy from today. The game has evolved a lot.
But as far as fighting philosophy, Bruce was the man and a class above all other martial arts stars. Back in Bruce's day, everyone picked a style and trained that same style all their lives, and boasted that their style was best. Bruce Lee said "Fuck your style, stupid. Take the best from every style and make a super style", which is basically what MMA is today.
And not only his fighting philosophies were cutting edge, but also his training was very modern. He believed, like a boxer, you need to be always in SUPER shape because you might get dragged into a long fight against a tough opponent. All those stupid karate and kung fu guys figured they could kill a man with one blow so why bother getting into great shape.
Bruce was interested in developing as a fighter, and just used movies to fund his studies/training and as a vehicle for his philosophies, and for that Bruce deserves respect.
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
Also, in his book The Tao of Jeet Kune Do, Bruce Lee claimed that any man with a year or so of boxing or wrestling training would whip the ass of most traditional martial artists. That was proven 20 years after his death when the UFC started up and these karate guys got exposed by wrestlers and BJJ guys.

Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC

Yes JVCD ruled too, he fought actual kickboxing I think.
The only one who sucked and couldn't fight was Steven Segal. Aikido is for pussies.

Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
Just checked out that Tony Jaa in Ong Bak and its shit!
This is by far the best, most entertaining and plausable fight iv seen in a martial arts ilm.
Its called Ip Man and its based on Bruce Lees Wing Chun teacher in China. This scene is awesome!

If you asked Segul he'd tell you he could waste Lee, JCVD and Norris all at once!
That guy is SOO full of himself!!
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
He'd also claim that he's the reason for Anderson Silva and Lyoto Machida's success in the UFC. At one point he actually claimed that he invented the front kick (which has been around FOREVER) that Anderson KO'd Vitor with.
By all accounts he got choked unconscious by Judo Gene Lebell on the set of one of his movies when he was talking shit.

Say that to his face.
A prime 6,7 steven seagal is no joke.
Yes he cant act and loves himself and taught anderson silva the front kick (lol) but he would do some serious damage in real life.

Wesley snipes would destroy all these guys.
That half vampire strength is no joke.

Lmfao this made me spit out my orange juice earlier.. yea , Segal is a phony and im not sold on that Aikido shit. To me, that's a copout style of fighting and I know he cant toss guys around like that so effortlessly in real life. Real fake lol..
I also heard that he got thrashed on his movie set .. so embarassing
IMP, so what if segal is 6"6 and knows that fake aikido shit.. are you really scared of this guy? Hahaha

I would bet on steven seagal against all of the names mentioned.

Seriously? U would even pick him over Michael Jai White?

Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
LOL@ Seagal, he's just a fat sissy to be honest.
Watch this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fH6HtkySiCQ
What the fuck is this shit? Its just a bunch of guys running at him, and then flipping over when he touches them. It's the lamest martial arts I've ever seen!!
Big sissy with a gay style, and also he bitched out when JCVD challenged him to a fight at a Stallone party back in the 90s!

I never said Segul could not fight.
In fact he probably is one of the toughest of the actors really.
It must be said his acting really does suck! lol
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
The main reason I think maybe Segul would beat JCVD is not because of his Aikido shit, it's because of the size difference. JCVD looks big on screen because of his pumped muscles but correct me if I'm wrong but isn't he just little guy in real life??

:vd: wow words can't describe how lame that is, bro.. They obviously rehearsed that shit with everything choreographed..
I just want to ask Segal myself like what do you take us for, dummies? lol There aint no fuckin way that his soft taps are going to cause a grown ass man to do acrobatic flips and shit, flying all over the god dam place.
Ponytail got so shaken up he locked himself in the house while JCVD waited for him outside..

Yeah I've seen that demonstration before, it's just ridiculously fake. Same as his movies where he joint locks all his opponents just with some flimsy flipping of his wrists without really trying.
There's no way he can fight like that.
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
Thats the way pretty much all those traditional martial arts look: the "sensei" or whatever does stupid movements and the students go flying and act hurt like it's a movie. That's not fighting!
The only arts you can trust are TRUE combat arts: boxing, kickboxing, muay thai, wrestling, judo, BJJ, ect. When you go to a boxing or kickboxing gym and you're sparring, nobody is doing flips and moving with you, they're going against you and trying to knock you out, so you learn how to REALLY fight, because the only way to learn how to fight is to FIGHT, not that play shit that Seagal does.
If you go train wrestling or BJJ do you think they're going to roll over when you move your hands like that? You're gonna get choked unconscious or get your arm broken.
Seagal SUCKS, and JCVD was a kickboxer and was in shape. Seagal was fat and practiced a "fighting" art that looked more like pro wrestling!
-
Re: Bruce Lee steps into the Octagon with EA Sports UFC
And Steven Seagal even runs like a girl LOL. He's not an athlete! Even Sly with his limited boxing experience would have KTFO him.
