Floyd injecting drugs into his hand.. isnt that a form of cheating?
Cuz nigga got some bitch hand ... if numbing your hands werent cheating, then every state would allow it but they dont..
That's why he only fights in Vegas...
Re: Floyd injecting drugs into his hand.. isnt that a form of cheating?
Yeah but if it's legal in the state then it's fair game.
Personally I don't think it should be allowed anywhere, but whatever.
Re: Floyd injecting drugs into his hand.. isnt that a form of cheating?
I can't imagine it could be an advantage for anyone who didn't have some kind of bad hands in the first place, so I've never really thought much about it. No idea whether there are other numbing agents which are close enough and legal across the board though, weird that anything banned in most states is allowed in Vegas of all places.

I would not be surprised if Floyd paid off an official to allow him to do it. Calzaghe admitted to using them for his last couple of fights.
Re: Floyd injecting drugs into his hand.. isnt that a form of cheating?
I think any pain killer should be banned, not because it's an advantage but because it's dangerous to the fighter using it.
Let's say Floyd breaks his hand but because of the injections he doesn't really feel it and keeps punching full force with it, he can do serious lasting damage.
Re: Floyd injecting drugs into his hand.. isnt that a form of cheating?
It's not cheating, IT'S ABSOLUTELY FINE WHAT HE'S DOING.
He's not making himself stronger than his opponent by using steroids, and sure he can hit and not feel some pain but he can only throw what his stamina lets him.
Simple fact, if his opponent doesn't like it..... Don't take the fight.... Or ..... Use the injections himself....
Re: Floyd injecting drugs into his hand.. isnt that a form of cheating?
Nah that's not cheating, that's just like getting a cortisone for a bad shoulder. It's medicinal.
Cemented gloves and PED's are definitely cheating by contrast. And that's coming from a fan of both Pac and the Mexican boxers.
Re: Floyd injecting drugs into his hand.. isnt that a form of cheating?
is elbowing the opponent's throat cheating? because floyd survived many a fight like that.

If you can pay/blackmail a commision to make it legal does that make it ok?

Painkilling injections are used in lots of other sports but are generally damaging over the long term because your still working with an injury which makes it worse. Floyd's been struggling with his hand since the Guerrero fight and I wonder if its the first sign of years in the sport having an effect on his body.

It has been longer than that, Floyd has had hand problems for many years.
Re: Floyd injecting drugs into his hand.. isnt that a form of cheating?
There is a difference between using a localised drug designed to alleviate an injury as is commonly practiced in most other sports too, and using a generalised drug that is designed to enhance metabolic and CNS functions and boost overall athletic and performance beyond what can be achieved naturally as is illegal in most other sports too.
I realise it is a debatable thing where the line is drawn or whether there is a difference in principle at all but I think common sense prevails that one is acceptable and the other is not.
