Curtis Stevens called out GGG and got annihilated. hahahahahhaha.....
Thomas Tate called out Roy Jones and talked ridiculous smack leading up to the fight and was humiliated n stopped in the second round.
Jorge Luis Gonzalez called out Riddick Bowe for close to a year saying pretty nasty stuff n paid the price by suffering multiple knockdowns.
Edwin Rosario called Julio Ceasar Chavez the worst word to call a Mexican, then insulted his mother, and took a horrible beating before being stopped in the 11th. Chavez ruined him that night by giving him such a comprehensive n extended beating. Especially to the body!
Haugen talked a lot of shit about JCC and famously said that JCC's opponents were mostly Mexican cab drivers, then he got destroyed.
This one is sort of different but Vivian Harris stalking Floyd mayweather only to get knocked out by some door to door vacuum seller in Maussa..
Amir Khan's chase of Floyd for years springs to mind, he always said he was 'one or two fights away from Mayweather' but then lost to Peterson and Garcia :lickish: Beyond that David Haye's little toe still gets mentioned in Britain after his antics calling Wlad out were quite frankly shameful.
Jeff Lacy pursued Calzaghe for a while. He and Gary Shaw both took shots at Calzaghe in post-fight interviews :-X
Lacy crushes Pemberton, calls out Calzaghe
Joey Gamache actually went to the executives running HBO and begged them to make the Gatti fight. Fool almost got decapitated for his stupidity
Vargas had been calling out Oscar for years.
I believe it started from Oscar not acknowledging him at a boxing gym or something. You know how sensitive those cholos are.
Naz got beat on pretty bad after talking a massive amount of sh!t on Barrera. That fly in alone on the trapeze and then getting on the mic pre fight was enough alone but I vividly remember an hbo interview where he basically guaranteed a win as he dedicated it to all Muslims worldwide. I also remember beers being thrown on him as he descended from the rafters. Speaking of Naz, I just saw a YouTube vid ( Froch-groves fight crowd) my God did he blow up. He looked like he was 210 lbs. at least.
On a smaller scale, Israel Cardona was quoted as saying that Spadafora didn't even belong in the same ring with him. He proceeded to get whitewashedfor the IBF title back in 99.
Oh yeah, right. Lmao as I'm typing this.
It just hit me. I got my original post confused with another athlete from a completely sport. It was David Robinson who didn't shake hands with Shaquille O'Neal during some high school event when Shaq was a teen. Shaq held that grudge all the way to the NBA.
Larry Holmes calling out Tyson...
"He ain't goin down in history, I'm the one goin down in the history books. He's goin down as an S.O.B."
I like Vargas he brought the best out of Oscar and Felix.
Remember a fighter calling out James Toney and he was in the crowd. Toney came to the centre of the ring and said lets do it. That was funny.
Karl Willis. He had sparred with Toney and said he could beat him. Toney fought him in a non-title fight and BEAT him. I watched the fight on some late night cable channel and I taped it; I'll try to find it on-line. Toney nearly killed him.

In the video, early, they mention a guy over and over that I have worked many rounds with. Back when I was young.
No that was not the one trying to find it but this is fun.

Brazilian rich boy Michael Oliveira (billionaire grandfather left him millions) who fights at Junior Middleweight decided he wanted to make a name by calling out Brazil's favorite son Acelino Freitas. Ignoring the fact that Freitas had been retired for 5 years and had never fought above Lightweight. After watching film of Oliveria, Freitas requested 3 months to get ready and accepted the fight. Weeks before the fight the Oliveira camp threatened to pull out if the location wasn't changed. Due to Freitas popularity and he being a current state legislator, Oliveira felt the deck was stacked against him. So the fight was moved to Uruguay. Brazilian ref Antonio Soares was rejected by the Oliveira camp cuz he was Brazilian. They felt he would favored the more popular Brazilian in Freitas. American ref Dale Grable was accepted and than rejected by the Oliveira camp. Back in early 2000 Freitas knocked out Lemuel Nelson in 2 rounds. Grable was the ref. For some reason they figured he would favor Freitas. They finally settled on Panamanian ref Hector Afu. Freitas said nothing through out all the changes and demands. He just went out there and beat that boys ass on fight night
Who can forget Michael Katsidis shouting out " What are you looking at" to Robert Guerrero only to get battered , what a prick.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5KKMz6fazQ More insane is he 'questioned' McClellans heart. Trice was off at times. He wasn't the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree :-X
that is the one! Look at the end of that video!!
James Toney is awesome!!!!!! :cool::cool::cool:
