Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
My good friend that sparred with Emile griffith for three years says that about every fight since Chavez and Ricardo lopez retired. And james toney.

Although there are many good fighters today, I do agree with your buddy to an extent considering how he fought in the Griffith era.
There are some parts of the game that are missing in today's boxing such as in-fighting or just boxing each other from the midrange , skill for skill without all the BS clinching.
There are things that are " lost art " in the modern Boxing.

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
At least they fought each other. Twice :-X
-
I'm intrigued to see what he said there that anyone will disagree with.
As for the "lost art" part of the conversation on this thread. It will only get worse. The low participation in boxing will adversely effect trainers which will further diminish what is taught. People overlook the major fault in being a niche sport. The viewers are fine. The low participation is going to kill the sport.

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
So mayweather should have no problem fighting either out of them.

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
I've grown to like Pacman over the years but I've always disliked his style. He does fight like an amateur and his style don't do much for me. I tried hard to like him but his style of fighting still doesn't appeal to me. Its sloppy, wreckless, and full of fundamental flaws.
I like him as an inspirational figure but as a purist, I'm not thrilled by his approach.
Floyd is right about Bradley too and I too have been saying this for awhile now. Bradley has amateur tendencies in his offense. Not only does he punch without a tightly clinched fists, but he flails a lot. His punching technique is horrible and that's one of the reasons why he fatigued faster in the last pacman bout. He loops his punches instead of thowing it straight from the shoulder and that gets u tired faster especially when u miss with those kind of shots.
They are amateurs compared to floyd.

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
For a second when I heard him saying amateur I was thinking about guys more worried more about scoring light flurry shots and raking up points. Have to admit, its a tad ironic..but I get what he is saying ;D
He's spot on about Bradley...he looked and fought like he hit his stamina wall very early on. It's not the first time. Interesting he points out Arum, again, as a roadblock and Manny not being what he once was. Sounds like an open door..

There is many a slip...He'd beat Bradley easy. He'll beat Pac but it might take more effort. Not physically so much because Floyd isn't in it to fight and marquez knocked all the fight out of Pac...
It will be a 'startegic' fight.

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
handpicking floyd aint got the right to say shit about either guy. at least they accept great challenges and thrive to fight the best, and not make excuses one after another! floyd knows nothing about honor & the quest to be a true all time great. at least pac and bradley have the balls to go for broke.
-
Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
I agree with pretty much everything he said, but I think he's being a little hard on Pac. Pac fought a smart fight and got the W against a highly ranked/regarded undefeated champion.
But he's 100% right about Bradley, he fought like an amateur and gassed himself early.
And he's right that Pac doesn't have the same pop in his punches anymore.

He should have said that Bradley fought like a bar brawler, which would have been more accurate. ;D

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
...and yet she has not considered fighting any of one them, apparent that she is too scared for her health!

I was thinking the same thing, the trash talking has already started, so one of them might be next on the list.
Who the hell knows with Floyd and now Haymon has his ear, it could be trash talking or his honest opinion.

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
I can see if he made those comments as a fan. As professional it's kind of just more inflammatory smack talk. Definitely not the type of comment you should make when you're lined up against Maidana. Would he make that kind of comment about Maidana? no because he knows if he told the truth about his own fights, less people will buy the ppv and he'd be out some money.
There is truth in what he says about bradley.... bradley looked very Cornelius bundrage in winging those shots. At the same time, i'd like to see how clean Mayweather could look against Bradley and handled the swarm/ and Tim's work rate. I would also say that Bradleys not a natural welter and put on that muscle to compete at 147, as he has 2" in height less than Mayweather and tried to follow the Marquez KO model against Pac.
Theres truth in what he says about pac punches. Then again its easy to talk when you're not in the same boat. Id have to see mayweather knocked cold and then hitting the comeback trail first. I don't think it will happen though. While anyone can get caught, I just think mayweather would quit after that. As far as amateurs go, talking football with the commentators while you disregard the scrub in the ring with you doesn't scream consummate pro. There's still a difference between great and professional...being one doesn't automatically make you the other.

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
Why would Floyd fight Bradley, Bradley is damaged goods now after getting spanked by Pac (just like Pac was damaged goods after getting spanked by JMM lol)
-
Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
Im not a fan of floyd but it's hard to disagree with what he said and he has the right to criticize any fighter..
Pac and bradley would look like worse amateurs if they fought floyd..
Sidenote: the current pacman

Re: " Pac and Bradley fought like amateurs " says Mayweather
Well at least they fought one another in an evenly matched contest and is better than choosing a slow turtle of an opponent who we have no interest in watching.

Pac may not have the same pop but Floyd still does not have the balls.
If he thinks Pac is there for the picking then fight him to shut most of the critics up. Whatever Floyd wants, Floyd gets. And this fight he can get if he wants it. I don't believe Pac will come up with that "afraid of needles" excuse again.

I never thought about it but in watching the fight again I am further convinced Pac has no business talking about fighting Mayweather. He has fought two cupcakes with little to no power since getting KTFO . Bradley's big head is the only thing that stepped into the ring that night. He had no fight plan to go with his paltry AA battery power . Not certain Pac can even handle Maidana, Mathysse, Porter , Garcia or Thurman. How does wins over these last two light hitting opponents catapult him in to the "Money" sweepstakes? He needs to prove himself again not earn a huge payday with a built in fought a naturally bigger guy excuse.

That's true but are you saying that Canelo was a cherrypick?
Bernard hopkins is an obvious cherrypicker. Floyd mayweather has been in many fights on even terms.

No that was a very good victory but I am on about Maidana and Guerrero.

Do you view floyd-guerrero as less of a matchup than Pac-Mosley?

You sure are very objective... I'm certain your views are the yardstick to what makes fit for sensitive and high impact issues...
Nevertheless, the Queen is mistaken and her disciples are led to misinformation!

What is your point ? All people in here are objective ... roll up all that british rhetoric and smoke it or shove it up your arse. Find a worthy Brit fighter to follow. Oh, wait the Queen and all her brethren seem to be unable to breed a real Boxing champion.
