Which would be the most desirable match to see Wlad fight next???
Tyson fury...the only person who has the size to compete
Most of the guys on the list are big enough to compete.
The smallest is Jennings and he is still 6'2" and a ripped 225lbs, the rest are about equally hefty, Arreola is 6'4" and Pulev 6'4.5 and Wilder out-talls him.
But I agree I think Fury deserves a shot. I have just read negative article on Forum24 trashing Fury's chances as no better than Leapai's hah!
Fury will definitely make a more solid scrap out of it than that! Only his chin can let him down that bad, it will be a real test for it!
Who ever wins the WBC title, then the winner of Chis/Fury, then Wilder. If he does that then we may all retire.
Pulev. It's a no brainer. Wilder isn't going anywhere near Wladimir yet. Trust me.
Kubrat Pulev.
Then either the Stiverne-Arreola winner or the Chisora-Fury winner.
Pulev.
Nobody deserves a shot more than him.
Going by the schedule of all the fighters, it's obvious pulev will be next..
Does Pulev have ANY chance?
Pulev or Fury, fury is booked to fight chisora, so it looks like pulev
Shannon Briggs just for a laugh.
WBC title means nothing, Stiverne is not a exciting fighter, so who ever wins that title does not deserve a title shot.
Piss poor choice of opponents Wlad has faced lately.
I will get half excited when he faces Wilder or Fury..
I guess no one can beat Wlad.
Pulev ;)
wilder
Who is there ? Have you seen the Rings latest top ten HW contenders ? the list is a joke
Fury the guy who struggles with pool cleaners and who ducked Price at 4
Helenius the guy who clearly lost to Chisora and has yet to do anything worthy of making him relevant at 5
Adamek " not really a heavyweight" at 8
Deontay "Look at my amazing CV" Wilder at 9
Pulev at 1 is not despite not being completely krap going to give anyone sleepless nights, particularly not Wlad.
Povetkin at 2 is game but hugely limited and a bit fat
Chris Arreola at 6 is even more rotund and just ain't going to cut the mustard unless it is just prior to spreading it on his hot dog
Stiverne at 3 might last a couple more rounds than the Samoan guy
Jennings at 10 will not
and then their is Wlads compatriot Vyaceslav Glazkov at 7 ?
What a great division @Max Power I am so glad I am here to witness such a prolific and deep display of skill, heart and power. It's bloody brilliant. :-\
That's not such a bad line up really Beanz, to what benchmark are you comparing them unfavourably to? Please tell me!
If it's the 90's or the 00's I'd say you had a decent case but not by the measure you are trying to sell mate.
Fury, struggles with pool cleaners LOL just the ramblings of a complete fool!
I wonder what Fury would think of that.
I think Bryant Jennings would be decent opponent in any of the recent eras and I think many of those guys would have been HW champions in previous eras! Plain and simple.
So what if Arreola and Povetkin are a bit fat? It's the fucking HW division, they are allowed to be. A little fat can sometimes be beneficial at HW you idiot!
If you were to ask me who would come out on top should everyone else in the division fight, I would probably lean toward Pulev. Who is the most difficult match-up for Wlad? It's tough to say really. I like Wilder and Fury because of their size but I have big questions about their chins.
thing is no small fighter is gonna beat him in germany/eastern europe because he is allowed to hold and push so often
so i think the opponent needs to have size, i dont think fury is skilled enough, i think wlad could land when fury is on the way in and i really think as soon as fury gets hit off someone with power he will lose
so i like wilder, im not saying wilder is better skilled than fury, i just think he is more powerful and will be more affective when hes having a go
i dont think pulev has enough power and i think despite pulevs size i think holding will be the dominant part of the fight between the two
I'm going to have to go with this answer, even if their chins may be suspect or unknown.
Wladimir may KO them but at least things will be somewhat interesting until that happens.
Most of the other guys I can sort of picture getting a predictable sort of methodical beat down. That's not much fun to watch for me at least.
Wilder fight has got to be in the USA.
I voted fury because I want to see someone knock the idiot out.
Fury, let him fight somebody in the same class in terms of size (and size only) and then we'll see the gulf in class in every other department.
I agree with you about Wilder, but I think Fury would de easy money for Wlad and like you say exciting for a while. There is no way Fury can out muscle Wald or take his punch.
The only reason I think Wilder might make a fight of it is because he is a complete mystery and I'm talking about his chin. He has some speed and a good punch, but if he can't KO or at least hurt Wad early and doesn't have a CHIN, he is doomed, Wlad will KO him or make him quit.
Like you said every one else is known and would be a predictable and methodical beat down.
That's my guesstimate on the subject.
Wilder was KD's by Haye and Klitschko in sparring and otherwise batted around like a rag doll.
His chin is weak dude. Probably weaker than Fury's. He has a really hard punch and the speed and range to land it, that's his one ticket.
And it is a good ticket because Wlad will not take well to it if it does land. But it's still a long shot.
Wlad will likely just punch the shit out of Wilder and leave him canvassed early.
is this true or just another sparring rumour, like haye being ko'd by wilder? I can definently believe wilder was knocked down by both guys... I read a story saying wladimir said wilder did very well in sparring with him.
I voted pulev, the wbc belt isnt coming wlads way anytime soon so he might aswell get pulev out of the way, who has made some good progress with beating other minor contendors, his win v tony thompson looks alright after thompson disposed of solis.. Wladimir should leave teh other guys to build themselves a bigger reputation, it would make it a bigger fight and they might actually watch it in america for a change :S
That's a good plan actually. And yeah I think it's time to return to America too. I doubt if anything will satisfy some though.
I've never heard of Wilder KOing Haye in sparring, that's a new one. And I know Wladimir said nice things about Wilder. There have been pretty solid articles by onlookers awhile back though that Haye and Wladimir both beat up Wilder pretty easily though. I wasn't there so can't validate the sources info or anything but it's pretty obviously the truth. I've never heard anybody refute those statements that was in the know.
Therefore I think in reality Wilder already has been exposed at the very top level. Although he does stand his chance considering his outstanding qualities still and will still be a potential force against the other contenders.
Obviously I'm alone with Arreola but I think Chris would be able to waste him personally. If Wilder could knock Chris out that would be a major achievement in my book. Something nobody, including Vitali has been able to do.
I think Wlad should fight Max Power and KTFO of him. :)
Wilder vs. Fury would be an exciting fight.
what if max got a lucky punch and won :S jacksonman would have another aussie to make a million posts about too...
Wilder koing haye was a big deal on this forum, it wasmeant to have happened in the preperation to one of the fury fights and was used as the reason(well haye being in terrible shape) haye pulled out.. It was started from some guy posting it on facebook and took off... looking at the sparring videos haye released it seemed he was having no problems with wilder at all.. I can certainly believe both of them giving wilder a very tough time when.. It was also pretty early in wilders career when wladimir sparred him and wilder is a bit of a noob still so you wouldn't expect too much out of him v wladimir, I can believe wilder has improved a lot since then.. I still think wladimir would own him though, tyson fury is the only one from this list who i think could win or make it interesting at least
Back on the topic of Wilder-Fury, if Wilder beats the winner of Stiverne-Arreola II, and Fury beats Chisora in their rematch, a fight between them could be a big deal.
