Floyd is jealous of Manny...
It just dawned on me: Floyd is a little jealous of Manny. Jealous because even in Manny's losses, Manny still commands more attention from the media, world wide, and even on equal footing with casual fans in America, more than Floyd is.
Floyd feels as if he's the champion, he's the man, he's the one that is unbeaten and has proven himself time and time again- but, yet, we still want to talk about some Fillipino, who has been knocked out by a guy he beat to a crisp, and who also has no real ties to boxing in the way the great Mayweather dynasty has ties.
Floyd is jealous.... jealous because he feels, and arguably so, that he is far more superior than Manny. But, yet, we still talk about Manny as a great fighter in Manny's own right. lolololol.....
SMH- even in all of Floyd's accomplishments, he still just can't accept that he is a great fighter and talking about other great fighters doesn't diminish him, but it strengthens him.
:cool:

Re: Floyd is jealous of Manny...
I'm sorry my friend but I disagree. In the p4v numbers it's not even close. Floyd is the biggest name in boxing. Plus Manny has a slave contract with Arum. Floyd is free to do what he wants. If anyone is jealous it's Manny.
-
Re: Floyd is jealous of Manny...
I think Floyd is jealous in some respects, but he also dislikes him first and foremost. Floyd's rivalry with Manny probably acts as a great motivator for him though.

We're not talking about PPV numbers, we're talking about global appeal and likability. Which makes it even worse for Floyd- he sells ppv's, which is all that matters to him. But we still talk about Manny.

Yeah very jealous, that must be it...
Jealous that he's filthy rich, and Manny owes millions in back taxes...
Jealous that he's undefeated and Manny's been put to sleep 2 or 3 times...
Jealous that his PPV's have CONSISTENTLY and thoroughly outdrawn Manny's PPV's...
Jealous that he's his own boss and commands the lion's share of all his purses, while Manny has to hand over a ridiculous % to Bob Arum...
Jealous that, when history looks back on this era in boxing history, he will be viewed as the vastly superior fighter...
Yeah, I'm sure that jealousy is eating Floyd alive.

If you think Mayweather is jealous of Manny's likability, you have been suckered and outsmarted by Floyd himself.
Floyd has created his empire by perpetuating the "Money Mayweather" bad guy character (not saying he really isn't a piece of shit, but he has done nothing but purposely perpetuate and strengthen that stigma). That's what sells tickets. He knew he wasn't going to be Sugar Ray Leonard, so he went the other way and became the villain. If Mayweather and Pacquiao had fought, he would have played up his villain character and played off of Pac's likability. He doesn't give two shits who people like more.
Look at the credits of these All Access 24/7 pieces he has done. You'll see that Floyd is listed as an Executive or Associate Producer. Floyd had complete creative control over them. He could have made them 60 minutes of him passing out turkeys to the poor and kissing babies if he wanted to. Instead, you see him acting like a spoiled prima donna, a rich asshole who can buy whatever he wants, who gets in fights with his dad, ect. That's calculated shit.
Even if you think Floyd is dumb as rocks, he has an army of brilliant businessmen and advisers behind him. He's playing everyone and that's how he's made his millions.

Re: Floyd is jealous of Manny...
Beanflicker is a Floyd friend, or family member... I see it now.
As said: even with all of Floyd's accomplishments, and Manny's flaws, Manny is still exalted- and in some respects, more exalted than Floyd in in some areas- to a point where he is just as known, just as respected and just as much of a crowd pleasing fighter than Floyd is.
In fact, Manny is a more crowd pleasing fight, pre-fight and during the fight, than Floyd is now.
People watch Floyd because it is the Mayweather machine... sorta like everyone watches the Heat of today, or the Bull's of the 90's or the Lakers/Celtics of the 80's. You watch because they are the teams to watch... even if you are not a fan of theirs, you respect greatness.
But, with all that being said, Manny still is as much of a respected fighter and household name than Mayweather is. Mayweather must hate that...
;D

I enjoy the Mayweather showcase... and respect it a great deal.... but I LOVE WATCHING A MANNY PACQIUOA FIGHT!!!

Re: Floyd is jealous of Manny...
I do not like Floyd and I do not like watching him box because he is negative and runs. The only reason I watch his fights is the hope that one day someone will land and knock his stupid smile of his silly face.

Eubanks had the same effect and probably Ali, Floyd is not unique. I would not watch him against Maidana, Guerrero, Ortiz. I had hope with Canelo and stayed up for that fight.

Well I'm English and living in England, I appreciate and respect both fighters, but imo Mayweather is awesome, and on another level to Pac . . I really like Mayweather and what he stands for too . . he turns other fighters into very rich people.
Maybe I'm being a little naive in thinking that win lose or draw, surely any boxer in their right mind would wanna fight and earn the kinda money a bout with Mayweather would bring in???? . . and if anything I believe Mayweather to be a victim of his own success re who, what, when, and where to fight.
I cant see how or why Mayweather would be jealous of Manny (as good as Manny is or has been), I would have thought Mayweather would be far more focused on the serious issues other than to have time for, or to allow jealousy to creep under his skin, I'm thinking he'd be far too professional to either allow or to be bothered about that kinda thing, tho again that's just my humble opinion.
However, I do feel the debate is stronger and stands up better the other way around . . I could see an argument for Manny being a little jealous of Floyd re his achievements and undefeated status alone. :scratchchin: that would make more sense to me.....

Re: Floyd is jealous of Manny...
Real talk by YK.. I will put it like this.. I like the style of floyd more as a boxer but I like pac's mentality and character..
Yea floyd is probably a bit jealous deep down inside because he got passed over with the ' Fighter of the decade ' award which is a pretty big deal...
Remember his racist rant about pac cooking dogs ? Typical nigga style who has never been taught any better at home..

If you "love" Pacquiao so much learn his name. Your armchair psychology is flawed but hate on and you'll come to understand jealousy well.

You see, That's what I'm saying. Manny has no control over his career. His is Arum bitch and does what he is told. What fighter would fight JMM 5 fucking times. It's because they are both own by Arum. A guy who Floyd beat the shit out of. I hear what you guys are saying. I would agree that Manny is loved by more people. On the other hand Floyd knows this is a business and more people will pay to see you lose than win. So I can't see how Floyd is jealous when he's folding the paper like a mofo.

I get that. I would rather watch a Pacquiao fight than a Mayweather fight. And Pacquaio seems like the much nicer guy outside of the ring.
But if you think Mayweather is jealous of Pac, you're nuts. He has a better footing in the sport and a much better financial situation (which came from being hated).
Floyd is exactly where he wants to be in the sport. Manny is the guy playing catch-up.

That's it, man.
The truth is, every professional athlete in sports today would love to be in Mayweather's position. The fact is, pretty much all major athletes are exploited. Even ones that are making multi-millions are really only seeing a small fraction of the money they actually generate.
Floyd has leveraged himself in the sport where he is getting the lion's share of the money he generates.
Floyd is a dick who loves to be hated and loves to be rich. Well, he's plenty hated and plenty rich, so I don't see why he would be jealous of anyone.

Re: Floyd is jealous of Manny...
Bob arum is jealous of oscar and floyd.
Floyd and manny are not jealous of each other in the slightest.
Manny is very likeable but floyd is not.
Manny is always the same but floyd can turn it on for the cameras to make more money thats one of the reasons why he is the highest paid athlete..EVER!
Even if manny left top rank tomorrow he would make so much more than he is making now so can someone please tell me why pac will never leave bob arum once contract is over?!

There is no way that Floyd isnt at least a little bit jealous of Manny.. Even with all that money, he knows that people love Manny and as a prideful guy, that has to get to him deep down inside..
It's human nature..

What a completely stupid topic. Since when does a prize fighter want to be loved? He wants to be remembered , relevant or great. All you PAC Nuthuggers can have a Pac lovefest orgy .. PAC fans are mostly bandwagon fans new to boxing . Definitely not leaders , leaders make sound decisions and speak with wit. PAC fans speak in fantasy terms and deny facts when presented. Like Pac's next opponent: easy look for the guy with a marque name coming off a loss like in 80 % of his cherry picked fights. So it's probably the Kahn / Broner loser. Could be the winner as well as neither has power to deal with.

Petty Shit indeed, but surely neg comments and blandishments etc, etc don't make you a jealous person . . it could also mean your just creating press interest or adding to the build up of a potential fight . .
We all know how it is, re the creating of, and or the building up of hype . . and it's mostly done to generate more interest from the layman and fan alike, and be it positive or negative chat re an opponent it can, and often does generate more money come fight time.
Otherwise Ali would have appeared to have been jealous of countless opponents wouldn't he ??? re backhanded insults and petty little tirades etc...
:headscratch:

Re: Floyd is jealous of Manny...
What is truly amazing is how some people completely miss the point about Floyd. What Floyd understands (as did Oscar before him) is that boxing is as much a business as it is a sport. We may not like this point...but it's the truth. I know how much we love to wax poetic about boxing being only about what happens in the ring, the best taking on the best, etc...but the brutal reality is that 99% of professional boxers come into this sport poor and leave it poor (both financially and physically). It's a sport filled with shady, blood sucking promoters who could care less about a fighter other than how much money they can make off of them. So while some people think the important thing is to be "loved" by the public...for a fighter who makes his living getting his body battered...the important thing should be that they have something to show for it financially at the end (and good health is a bonus). ANY fighter would kill to be in the position that Mayweather is in. You think Pac wouldn't trade being a beloved champion for being the richest athlete in sports?! Dream on. I have NOTHING bad to say about an athlete because he doesn't allow himself to be used by promoters and has nothing to show for it. And lets not forget...some of us boxing fans LOVE to watch Floyd fight. Just as some love all action brawlers...some of us love brilliant technicians. The fact that Floyd has so much success in and out of the ring should be celebrated not derided.

Calm down tight-eyes....All Pactrash had to do was take the tests.
He had a 5050 split and a 14 day cut off right there in front of him in 09.
Even Roach said he'd take the tests if he were Manny...lol.

floyd isnt jealous of manny, he loves him
Both fighters have made more money with their rivalry being there than they ever would if it wasnt around even tho they have never fought
its been huge publicity, theres these two fighters at the pinacle, lb4lbs
if floyd would have fought manny 3 years ago and beaten him easily then what would everyone be talking about now?
floyd probably adds a million or two onto his purse every fight just by talking about manny

They both have climbed through the ladder in complete contrasting styles in and out of the ring. One a slugger one a master of the sweet science. One a hero one a villain . Though both contribute to charities their spendings are documented differently. One is rumored to be nearly broke the other is swimming in money. One has a complete country fan base 98% of them who knew nothing about boxing before Manny came to be & the entire nursing staff in the USA as its' fan base. The other has a fan base of rappers boxing purists (even if they hate him) and people just liking the association to the "0".
Outside of Bradley Floyd has beaten the common foes rather easily and before Pac.
Floyd has:
* more money
* never been KO'd brutally
* no losses
* Stages his own fights with help of GBP
* Has better PPV contract
courtesy of Showtime
* crack addict looking father
Pac has:
* not KO'd an opponent in years
* has delusional fan base. Only Pac fans can brag on how Pac was about to KO JMM in their last fight if not for a lucky punch & negating bullet point above. The only known outcome is the real life end result the rest nothing more than poor sportsmanship.
* has the pressures of letting down an entire country.
* has to fight who Arum schedules which is always another Top Rank fighter
* Is just stupid enough to renew deal
* Has to call a stitched up woman that looks like the character in "Corpse Bride" mom.
* has mom's hex to replace PEDS
* has money to buy good socks now
Common threads:
* Both are ugly
* Both are womanizers
* Both use or have used PEDS
* Both have money
* Both are master cherry pickers
So how in the hell can you claim Floyd has anything to be jealous about Pac?

Re: Floyd is jealous of Manny...
Floyd did this, Manny did that. Who gives a fu*k. They both a couple of cu*ts that ruined boxing for all of us.
