De La Hoya Slams Mayweather: He Should Be 43-3! - Boxing News
Oscar is not totally wrong..
Yes he is, totally wrong. The only argument is for Castillo 1. Floyd landed more shots and cleaner shots against both Oscar and Maidana. In scoring there is "a strong emphasis on clean punching". Maidana should be proud and should enjoy the millions his performance will earn him going forward. Oscar on the other hand needs to concentrate on staying out of womens undergarments by staying sober.
Oscar needs to stop snorting the coke.
EXACTLY what I've said:
Castillo.
Judah.
Maidana.
De La Hoya definitely has a case for a win with that split decision that time.
If De La Hoya hadn't forced the action, there'd have been no fight at all as Mayweather refused to engage all night.
kellerman with his "boxing clinic" nonsense, my rosy red rectum !!!
Guess he's already amended his own record on the whole Felix Sturm gift then :hide:
Oscar Delahoya is correct in his ringside belief that Mayweather lost the fight. You could see it in the faces of many of those ringside too who looked very worried that their bets were not going to come off as Maidana rallied in the final two having banked the first half of the fight. The spectacle of Mayweather looking flashy to the see the fight through fell away as Maidana rallied and worked and worked in the 11th and 12th. Look into those faces. They were delighted as Mayweather came on, but looked very distraught as Maidana showed his strength. This is the first convincing Mayweather defeat.
The only argument is for Castillo 1 and a DQ loss against Judah.
Oscar didn't beat Floyd and anyone who thinks he did is nuts.
I watch the fight few times have it 115-113 for Mayweather and so do most people that i seen on sites and the press scoring. I can not see how you can give a win to anyone but Mayweather have you re watched the fight and taken out any hate you have for the man before watching it.
i dont think that de la hoya should have said this but he did say later how the 0 didnt really matter which is true. if you look at anybodys record, you could switch it around for better or for worse depending on what you think. thats why when it comes to judging the legacy of a fighter, you have to just go by their skill level and how you perceived their fights. for example, with de la hoya, you could say that he should have a few more losses against pernell, quartay, and sturm but he could also have more wins against mosley and tito.
De La Hoya talks shit. I've seen plenty of 9-3 Mayweather cards. Most I've seen Maidana winning by is the odd round. Same as the Oscar fight with Floyd. It was close up until about half way and that was it.
You can pick a part anyone record, Oscar sounds bitter and twisted for someone who works with him. Talk about burning bridges and then trying to make friends with Arum.
Sturm was robbed against De La Hoya, but De La Hoya beat Whitaker. De La Hoya was robbed against Trinidad.
Whitaker wasn't landing. The expression is "Make him miss and make him pay", but Whitaker did "Make him miss and walk away" instead. Whitaker wasn't countering.
That fight was De La Hoya's just because he was coming ahead throwing punches at least.
Whitaker would slip shots but not counter-punch; he'd just walk away and act like he was in charge, but he wasn't throwing anything. You gotta throw punches to win a rd. Crap-tastic match anyway.
.
De la hoya talks shit when floyd beat him it wasn't even a close fight, the maidana fight was a lot closer and the Castillo fight well that was really close and the only fight floyd might have lost all others are clear wins.
Oscar is an air head, but he's right about Maidana winning.
Dead wrong about 3 losses for Floyd tho. No one aside from Castillo and Maidana have a case.
