Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
No joke. I had not seen a but whopping like that in quite a while....

Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
Yep just watched it today, not a great fight by any means but quite an impressive performance, Khan looked as good as he ever has perhaps. Collazo either had a lower opinion of Khan's punch resistance than I had, or else he simply had no plan B and got frustrated getting beat to the punch so handily. All that "stalking" Khan with his hands down when he'd already been dropped, hurt, and lost every round was fairly ridiculous for a skilled boxer to be doing I thought, but perhaps Khan was just so much faster he couldn't think of anything else. There was a lot of holding, but Collazo had sort of already lost the plot by the time he was complaining about it. If you want to wade in with your hands down without actually looking to work on the inside, what the hell do you expect a rangy boxer to do but tie up.
-
Yes Khan looked brilliant.
Collazo did exactly what he said he wouldn't do: think he was a puncher.
Stalked him like Randall Bailey but with less than half the punching power.

Khan had to look good the way Collazo fought.
We should all realize now why Collazo never quit gets over the
hump to the big time, he has this built in self destruct circuit. Didn't Haymon just pick him up? That won't last long! Another performance like that and he'll be gone. I'm not saying another word about Collazo.
Khan looked great, fast hands, good combos, excellent positioning, and fast feet. He held when I don't think he needed to, but overall he looked very good.

Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
What fucking fights where you all watching?! Khan held like a bitch the entire fight...and that disgrace of a referee let him get away with it. Collazo had his hands down cause he was beyond frustrated Khan was allowed to hold so much. With all that being said...Khan still had that deer in headlights look in certain moments of the fight.
-
Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
Was it that good? He dropped Collazo. Should he have stopped him, if he was that dominate?

collazo looked out in the 10th, im suprised he carried on after the beating he took
khan did look good, better than ever

Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
Khan looked great. Collazo was coming off of his best victory and Khan took him to school. Paulie was accurate in his announcing. He described how the toughest part about fighting Khan is closing the distance. When Khan is in close, he holds, in many ways he is like Wladimir Klitschko, a great athlete from the outside who doesn't have much of an inside game. I still would like to see Khan against another top welterweight before Floyd.

If that's what you call looking great you better get eyewear.

You Khan fans sure have the bar set low.

Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
I thought it was a case of Collazo being bad rather than Khan looking good. On the rare occasions Collazo landed anthing decent Khan got on his bike and did his normal backpedalling/clinching thing. He spent most of the fight going backwards and looking to counter and he clinched every time he could. Khan would get blasted out by somebody like Porter or Thurman

I don't like holding in boxing but I think if you are gonna do something about it, which incidentally I think something should be done about it, then I wouldn't start with khan
although he did hold there are some fighters who hold to the extreme
id start there

Khan is as good a place to start as any.

Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
It was a solid test for Khan moving up to WW and I think he did as good as could be expected against a very crafty vet like Collazo.
I'd like to see Khan in there with one of the younger WW talents. A match with Porter, Thurman, Brooks, ect would be fantastic.
I think the WW division is very strong right now.

Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
Has Khan improved from his last performance at welterweight? Is he bigger, better and stronger?

He has... he hadn't faded... plus he chose his shots a bit better, didn't go for the ko and decided to be patient- and if the ko came, it came. Which is a vast improvement from the ass-part Khan that left himself open and took shots in the exchanges. Resulting in vicious ko's or knockdowns.

Julio Diaz, where he looked weak and chinny.

Exactly! Collazo was fighting two guys in there...Khan and a ref who refused to enforce the rules. And yet some people are ridiculing Collazo for having his hands down?! Khan will be tasting the canvas again soon. Some of you on this board need to get off his nuts.
-
Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
If Khan doesn’t hold, as he showed in spots during the Collazo fight, he still has near no idea what to do on the inside, outside of trying to smother. People are going to buy into this being a "new" Khan...but watch him get timed and hurt again.
-
Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
Collazo is a fucking idiot. He fought with his hands all night even though he was taking a beating. After every round he was talking shit to Khan. Muthafukka you're getting your ass kicked. Shut the fuck up. And he fucking complained to the ref about everything. Fucking pussy

You were really wasted, watch it again. If you still have the same opinion then you have clearly had an accident whilst wasted. If you really think Khan spent most of the night going backwards you may need to go to a brain injury unit. :-\

If you add up the time Khan spent waiting to counter, going backwards and clinching it's most of the fight.

I have seen the fight and Amir did a professional job and was much improved from his last outing against Diaz.

Re: Khan beat the living S#$T out of Collazo...
I just rewatched the fight. Khan looked good but Collazo looked terrible. It was a get your shit Back back together for a fighter and it happened to take place at a mega event. Even when he was dominating you could tell Khan was in fear of the hook for a number of rounds. I still think he is having issues with his confidence. I like Khan but he should not be Floyd's next opponent. And to think for a while I was pissed when they first announced Mayweather wanted Maidana over Khan.
Keeping it in perspective Khans movement is amazing. You expect to see beautiful combinations
everyround and we usually do unless he gets dropped. Despite this convincing win which Khan pulled off and deserves credit for I still have a big question mark over his head.

I agree, Khan's performance had a lot to do with Collazo being stupid.
To be fair Khan was looking sleek and ready to fight, all the hand speed, combos, and foot speed where there and you could tell he has not been setting around Twittering the days away.
