How do you guys see this fight going?
I'm really on the fence with this fight. I could see Lara boxing him with ease or Canelo getting to Lara with power shots. My gut says Lara just because he's so stubborn. He's completely willing to stink up the joint where as Canelo will feel obliged to entertain. That means Canelo will press the fight. If his power can't effect Lara early Laras superior movement can force Canelo to walk into shots.
This could either be an excellent fight or just a fucking nightmare for fans.
I'm saying TD 5 Canelo due to a cut from a headbutt
Canelo will easily get the decision.. it's a foregone conclusion..
Lara: a boring boxer with low punch output
Canelo: An exciting superstar
It's not that hard to see the outcome..
Both have their issues. Canelo tends to fight in spurts and gasses in latter stages of a fight. Lara is slick...but he sometimes tries to be too slick by leaving his hands down (hence why Angulo dropped him twice). Not sold on either fighter 100%.
Where will this fight be held? If it's in Texas Lara could knock him out and he'd lose a wide decision.

Lara hits hard. If Canelo tried to push the action he could walk onto a punch and be sparked. I think the fight will be close but agree Canelo will get a decision, with one ridiculous scorecardQuote:

I think canelo wins this. I think they both have great boxing skill but eventually canelos power will lead to a late KO or stoppage.
If it wasn't for the Lara vs Angulo fight I would be worried for Canelo. Lara is an awkward fast in and out sharpshooter who is capable of being a problem for anyone but if Angulo can get to him so can Canelo.Quote:

I agree that it's up to Canelo. The Cuban traditional style struggles with constant pressure. Will Canelo look to box(bad idea) or try to make it a fight? And if Canelo looks to make it a fight will his stamina hold up? This is the fight that will show if Canelo is ready/willing to be great.Quote:

I would think Lara will be the better man, more skillfull and faster. Though he was dropped a couple of times by Angulo, which is a bit disappointing but that just adds to the excitement.
I hope Porter vs Brook is on the undercard.

Have gone back and forth on this one but just see Alvarez via tko late. Well, that's my pick this hour ;D. That body work on top of probably pushing 165 at the bell. Lara for all his shifts and feints really isn't all that slick in mobility and gets touched frequently. It'll catch up here.
Canelo and Lara both fighters are ready to catch one another.
Canelo by comfortable decision.. Lara is too mobile and too defensive to get knocked out and Canelo isn't active enough to score a KO..
Canelo fights in spurts and that's not going to be enough to worn Lara out..
Was thinking the same but really think-hope he will step it up and not let a guy linger. Lara can get stationary and has a chip on his shoulder. Alvarez did it a bit, eased, with Trout where he really needed to grasp the role of aggressor with mobile Mayweather on the horizon.Quote:
