At super middle?
Even a drained Kessler took everything Froch could dish out and nearly have him out of there late!
Kessler eats Golovkin for breakfast. Too big, too strong and too much skill.

5 years ago maybe, not now, GGG will win, maybe even by KO and at SMW

This fight should not happen.

We will see.....
Kessler will be too strong. Look how Groves faded against Froch compared to how a spent Kessler took everything.
Kessler said he overtrained and was flat a couple of weeks before the last fight. I believe him.
If you look at other middleweight punchers who moved up, they just cant transfer that strength with them. McClellan, Abraham, Pavlik.

im not sure you can say groves really faded against froch
he wasnt as dominant in the 8th and 9th as he was in 1-7 but really the only way groves wouldnt have faded would be if he had won every round
and Kessler lost most rounds against froch so its bhard to compare the two like that, but yes kessler showed to be a true warrior in that fight
you might be right about the power not moving up, i suppose that would be a big question mark
i hope the fight happens anyway, it would definately be one to watch

Re: Team Kessler is interested in Golovkin
The question is how much Kessler has left in the tank. If the time off helped Kessler recuperate after the Froch loss, Kessler might be too big and strong for GGG. If he's worn from the ring battles, GGG might beat him down.

Firstly your a retard for the gay comment
secondly - Kess vs GG - great fight! I hope it happens - pick em for me but hope kess wins!
-
Re: Team Kessler is interested in Golovkin
Its a great fight if it happens, not suprised Kessler has been out for a while because I think all the punches he's taken are starting to take a toll on him late in his career. Would be interesting to see if Kessler's got anything left in the tank and if Golovkin can make in roads into another weight division.
-
Re: Team Kessler is interested in Golovkin
This fight would be exciting to assess how GGG is at super middleweight and how much Kessler has left.
-
Re: Team Kessler is interested in Golovkin
GGG wins by KO. Kesseller is good but GGG is a different level.

Another level?
Look at how many world champions Kessler had faced and beaten. He unified titles.
Who has Golovkin beaten?
Another level alright. A level below.

Kesseler is old and past it. He looked shit against an old Froch. His list of wins is not so impressive listed below for the last 7 years. THere is a reason he contemplated retirement for so long and is only looking for another payday.
Brian Magee - past it and average
Green - KOd by GGG in amateurs, nothing speical
Bouadla - nothing special
Froch - probably his best win and I dont rate Froch
Perdomo - who?
Haussler - who?
Sartison - who?
GGG is younger and freshed. Has no wear and tear from hard battles and is likely the harder hitter.
Id like to see the fight but GGG will get no credit if he beats him. He just beat an old shot fighter is what will be said.

Only Finito would say that but most posters would say it would be a great victory.

I guess we'll have to wait and see Master. Haters are gonna hate. Will be the same if he beats Sergio. Everyone will say he was past it

Brian Magee is a bigger name than anyone Golovkin has faced and thats when you realise how crap his opposition has been.

I'm a big fan of Kessler, but I have to admit Silkeyjoe is pretty spot on in everything he said.
I think Kessler is better judged on the fact that he gave the 2 best fighters in the SMW division in the last 10 years the hardest fights of their careers, but it certainly seems a long time ago. If the fight goes ahead , I hope Kessler wins, but I fear the worst . It was bad enough watching him lose to an inferior fighter in Froch.

Hold on.
Kessler kills himself in training and leaves nothing left for the fight but still makes it very very close. Kessler also holds a convincing win over Froch.
Groves gets stopped in the first attempt and Groves is the new star of the division whereas Kessler is finished?

Re: Team Kessler is interested in Golovkin
I'll be honest, my eyes lit up when I saw Kesslers name cause I thought "yeah, he could do it". Just a feeling.
Plus, I don't like the idea of GGG moving up.

Moving up in weight should only be an option when you have cleaned a division out.
Golovkin wants to test the waters to try and get some big money fights.
Kessler is nt the kind of fighter you move up against to test how you feel at the weight.
Not when you havent beaten anyone better than Brian Magee.

This is rich!
Kesslers last 9 opponents only had a combined 17 losses and included 3 undefeated fighters.
This is the funny bit...
Golovkins last 9 "opponents" had a combined 40 losses and not one undefeated fighter!!

i had froch winning the first

Ross' usual pathetic arguments about number I losses blah blah blah. Macklin and Stevens at middle are as good as any of Kesslers recent wins.
Wlads lost a couple of times so I guess all the unbeaten heavyweights are far better then him and having one of them on ur rec is much better then beating Wlad.
Ross a clown with biased views and can't judge fighters rationally at all.

You have to admit this will be a very good fight and would tell us a lot about both fighters.
Kessler will have eyes on the winner of Froch v Groves
-
Re: Team Kessler is interested in Golovkin
Kessler was a beast when he was younger then he ran in Calzaghe and lost it pretty convincingly was even hurt by Cazlzaghe. Then lost to Ward few years later and is even with Froch GGG has not even really fought a champ yet so he might have his train stopped by Kessler or Froch.

Kesslers opponents are far better than what Golovkin has faced. Kesslers win over Magee is better than Golovkins over Macklin!
Magees losses have all come against world class fighters!
Like I said, when Magee is at least equal to every opponent you have faced, it shows the level you have not yet reached. Kesslers.
-
Re: Team Kessler is interested in Golovkin
GGG is like a prospect still he like a Wilder almost but he has fought some contenders but at champ level what has he done nothing. I mean he is kinda old is he not he could of been fighting champs when he beat that hot prospect but went into hiding after did he not or no just wondering.

I disagree that GGG would be the harder hitter, it's a smaller weight, if he came up I doubt he would carry it up with him.
Look at it this way, look at their natural body types, Kessler looks like he could comfortably move up in weight from super middle, and GGG looks like he'd be more comfy going down in weight, from middle. It's not a naturally fair fight.
Kessler would be too big in my opinion, he wouldn't need all his prime to beat GGG, he has the basic size and a good shot.
-
Re: Team Kessler is interested in Golovkin
I think I'd favor an even slightly past it kess , hed be able to take it and dish it out, might taste the canvas, but chances are ggg would as well. Im thinking though the version thats going to come back is going to be a bit more than slighly past it, but Ill be rooting for kess if it ever comes off. This is not a slight to ggg but he should stay away from super middle, kess could easily fight at light heavy, and dam it ggg someone in the past 3 or 4 years must have been down with facing you.

Yes its possible. But I think at this stage of their careers, GGG coming into prime and Kess on the way out GGG will be the stronger of the two. Also, with Ross' great explanation of Kess killing himself in training for the Froch fight, making weight probably isnt as easy for Kess as it once was and as such wont be as strong as he used to be.

Yes your arguments are pathetic. How good Kess' opponents have been do not change the fact he is coming towards the end of his career while GGG is coming to his prime. The fight isnt going to happen anytime soon with GGG fighting Geale next, its unlikely hes going to move up in weight.

Kesslers.
Yes your arguments are pathetic. How good Kess' opponents have been do not change the fact he is coming towards the end of his career while GGG is coming to his prime. The fight isnt going to happen anytime soon with GGG fighting Geale next, its unlikely hes going to move up in weight.
Put it this way.
Look at Kessler and Golovkins last opponents.
If Kessler fought Golovkins last opponent Adama, would Adama get out of the first? I doubt it. Would Adama trouble Kessler like he did Golovkin, I doubt it.
If Golovkin fought Froch, would Golovkin have heard the final bell? I doubt it.
You have already said that Golovkins best opponents are Macklin and Stevens. Macklinlin had losses to Jamie Moore and Andrew Facey. Both light years away from world class. Stevens had been beaten by Jesse Brinkley and journeyman Marcus Primera. These are the best fighters that Golovkin has faced!? This is what him being able to move up and beat one of the strongest, hardest hitting and most durable supermiddles around is based on?
Golovkin wont even take the fight. Its just talk. If Golovkin moves up it will be with eyes on Abraham.
