Finally scored mayweather/maidana
Maidana won the first round. Gave floyd the second. Had maidana winning the next 4 rounds in a row so rounds 3,4,5 & 6 maidana. Had mayweather winning the next 5 rounds but there where 2 in there that I wanted to rewatch cuz they were that close but I gave them to mayweather so rounds 7,8,9,10&11 mayweather. The final round I gave to maidana thought he pressed the attack and mayweather was mostly running but still getting in trouble.
114-114 a draw
Will probably do it again soon. This was a tough fight to score.
Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
My score card was:
1-floyd
2-floyd
3-marcos
4-marcos
5-marcos
6-floyd
7-floyd
8-marcos
9-floyd
10-floyd
11-floyd
12-marcos
For all his wild aggression, Maidana wasn't really connecting much. Remember punches to the hips, upper back, lower back and back of the head aren't scoring blows. Neither are dick punches.

Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
I had it a draw. Great plan from Chino and his team. Money didn't have that smirk as he sat in his corner between rounds. I think a draw is quite fair. Anything close goes to Floyd with a lot of judges. It will take a convincing performance from someone to take away his 0. It will be interesting to see what changes occur in a rematch
Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
Pound-for-pound best? Suuuuure, dude has no takedown defense whatsoever...
Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
Maidana won the night but I don't have any problem with 115-113 either way. I would prefer Floyd get the nod because Maidana should of done more in the 2nd half to dethrone Mayweather. No way would Floyd lose a close fight. When he loses it would be by beat down not a close decision. His time is coming. ;)

Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
I fell there is no real way that Maidana won that fight draw is the best he could of done. More i wathc the fight more i see how much he missed his punches. I mean he missed 628 punches and ones he was landing were not all great. I think best choice is 115-155 Mayweather as do most close fight.
Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
I had it 116-112 Pbf.
The victory was clearly Floyd's.

Well shit i meant 115-113 for Mayweather i guess when i was in a rush for work i put in the wrong thing. Sorry about that confusion on that fell that right score is 115-113 I don't count aggression that misses or low blows really. Anyhow thank you for pointing that out need watch the numbers i type.

Your right. A lot of his punches he threw knowing they wouldn't land. He had to be messy this way otherwise to stand in punching range and land good clean, scoring shots would leave himself open to get caught. They were banking on tiring Floyd and hoping that the exertion would fool the judges.
In amateur boxing where only scoring shots are counted Floyd would have won by a comfortable margin.

no worries big dude
Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
I found the fight to be closer than the score that those judges had because I was so close to giving Maidana a draw except that although I am not a fan of PBF you have to give him credit. He is durable and a defensive wizard, a student of his sport because he came through. True Maidana made a great deal of contact but Floyd met up to the challenge and in the end he acted like a gentleman which knocked me for a loop. Floyd won because he turned adversity into victory because he threw straighter punches and made his move when he felt all the power that Maidana had put forth. Floyd won because he fought back, he's proved it over and over, he's not only a boxer but a fighter.

:) I thought you were watching the royal rumble or something
Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
I watched this fight again in high quality yesterday. 1st time I scored it 7-5 for floyd but after seeing it again I had it 9-3 for floyd. There were quite a lot of close rounds but maidana just didn't land very many good clean punches, aggression is great but it has to be affective, how anyone can think maidana won that fight is seriously crazy

Call me crazy then but the reality is Floyd should have easily beat Chino because he is not very good and raw. Floyd allowed the fight to be close because he knew Chino was unlikely to take advantage of it.
Re: Finally scored mayweather/maidana
I actually rewatched the fight with Floyd a few times, and then I went back and watched previous Maidana fights.
Khan had come on very strong in the beginning but was running a bit toward the end. Maidana had adjusted to Khan's speed and started bringing on a non stop onslaught. Khan also was the bigger or at least taller fighter in that match, and Maidana hung in there and made a good showing of it by the time all was done.
Then I watched the fight vs Broner again. Everyone knows Maidana put forth a good performance in this one, although Broner did hang in there (and ran less than Khan ironically).
I think maybe Maidana is just a lot better than he was being given credit for prior to this. That being said, I still feel Mayweather pulled off the win despite being the smaller fighter and not having much firepower to discourage Maidana.
