when was the last time you were excited about a HW title fight and who was in it?

when was the last time you and your mates got together with some beers for a world title fight in the HW division?

and when was the last time after the fight you thought, fuck me that was good? :)

reckon mine was klit haye last time, should of know better really

Same as and before that pretty much any of Hayes HW fights...Ruiz..valuev etc.

Haye was Box Office and always generated a buzz.

TBH before that it was Lennox v Vitali.

Miss those Masive meaningful HW clashes :mad:

Lewis-Vitali.. given the circumstances, I just knew that this was going to be a special fight.

The fact that lewis had trained for a totally different opponent in Kirk johnson before accepting vitali as a last minute replacement was a shocker because lewis was usually a hard negiotiator..

Before this fight was probably lewis-Tyson

Yeah Haye got me hook line and sinker with his trash talk and hype. I actually thought that he'd try to decapitate Wlad, and I figured that Wlad would be pissed about the trash talk and we'd get to see an actual fight. So much for that.

getting excited about haye klit was daft really, klit is always in shit fights so hes always gonna be in shit fights

Hey, piss on all you guys, I was more than a little interested in the Stiverne vs Arreola II fight.
I was hoping Arreola would get the win. The man has a ton of heart, never stops coming, and always things he can win.
My opinion of the fight is that it was predictable, with some exciting exchanges plus any boxing fan's ending.
Not the greatest but certainly not a stinker, in my opinion.

Some people hate the idea that a Ukrainian is heavyweight champion, and continually whine and complain about the HW division.

But I have nothing against Ukrainians. I have just as much respect for Wladimir Klitschko as I would have for an African-American like Evander Holyfield or an Irish-American like Jack Dempsey.

Good question really. For a trinket had to be Lewis v Vitali going in. Really Stiverne v Arreola lead in was good, trinket or not. Compared to previous Wlad affair on 'free' tv. I called my buddy in PA. cause he's a casual fan with no premiere networks etc. Said eh man check ESPN and see a heavyweight title go. Only took introduction and round one he's telling me what the fuck is this fat M&M doing in a championship on and on. Felt like I had to apologize after ha.

Well Wald vs Haye was funny to me and i enjoyed it because Wald domnated so bad. I mean all Haye did is stay on the outside and get jabbed or try to suck Walds dick and i said to myself this guy was talking all this shit for years how funny. Also his best win was a man fucking 48 year Holyfeild beat was funny that this guy was the guy that going to beat Wald. I really never thought it but i was expecting him to back it up a tad at least fucking maybe landed 10 punches on Wlad though others have done better against him.

Wladimir v haye was the last one I was really looking forward to, it wasnt totally awful both guys did what they had to do I guess(2 good and smart fighters) and the better guy won but it certainly didnt live up to the hype..

was also looking forward to vitali v arreola, arreola was undefeated then and vitali was starting to age a bit ... but old vitali just gave him a pounding

I like watching the heavyweights(not just the champs ) so I have eagerly anticipated many fights, usually chagaev, povetkin solis and others but the above two fights were the only really big ones I can remember right now ..

Also I was looking forward to takam v perez and it turned out pretty good.. Szpilka v jennings and it was pretty good although jennings won a bit too easily for it to be a classic. Aha and povetkin v huck I didnt expect much from it but it was a highly entertaining brawl!
