Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
Evening all,
Tonight's card is just getting under way on Sky Sports, and I reckon this is the best night of boxing we've had in Wales for quite some time. Clev on the comeback trail....finally, Selby working towards a title shot and Rees in his goodbye fight in a rematch against Buckland in what was a really tight affair first time round.
Starting off with the latest of the Smith brothers on the title trail, Callum, v Enzo Maccarinelli's nephew Tobias Webb.

Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
just tuned in in time for the rees buckland rematch, felt as tho rees got shafted if i remember right first time around. was fun to watch hopefully this is as well
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
rees took that i think stunned buckland a few times, better not eat to many flush or itll be an early night i think
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
I guess Im going to stop talkin with myself but its a fun fight thus far and got rees 2-1
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
I'm liking the fight so far, I have it all square through four. Buckland is exactly what his shorts say - a dynamo!

So have I.

Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
commentators are effin stupid one minute buckland is asserting and starting to dominate the next hes losing the fight ...i got rees up after 7, 7th being second clearest round
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
This fight is going back and forth just like the first fight did. Buckland gets into the ascendancy, then in the seventh Rees takes it back again. Little cracker!

Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
rees again, cleaner work and bucklands volume wasnt there for most of the round in the 8th rees up 2 i think
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
BIG BIG round for rees and got him taking the last few now and getting more and more clear, when rees is close in volume to buckland, buckland doesnt have much chance really
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
Buckland had a great little burst there, though the cut seemed to come from a clash of heads. Rees is probably on route to a points win, but then again I thought that last time.
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
not scorring anymore as buckland cant even win it for me, buckland did fifteen seconds of work and commentators jizzing over it...fun fight but rees becoming clear winner for me

Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
Great last round from Rees. Has to have it, surely.
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
i got rees sd in prediction contest but this should be a clear ud i mean he swept it for me from 7 on but nobody had it for buckland either really first time around except the dudes that matter ringside

Superb advert for the game, Gavin's smarter work in the middle rounds saw him stretch away, and at one point in the last round, I'm sure they would have both fallen over if they weren't leaning on each other!

Well, cruiser has notoriously been a stepping stone weight class with all the best heading up to heavy, might be the right place for a second title.
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
and I know its an intercontinental title and not a "real" world title but what the fuck this shouldnt have any freakin title on the line

oh he might well pick up a title there...but i doubt it actually most of the title holders at cruiser are hard punchers or extremely tough and think most of them beat him, if he faces one of em cleverly will have a second loss

Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
Well, that was quick. My internet packed up at the end of the first round, by the time I got the router restarted, it was all over. I guess its just building towards the Bellew rematch... inevitable really.
On to Lee Selby.
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
Bellew....anybody would think he was decent the way he talks! Dear oh dear!
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
rees buckland should have headlined this

Fair play, Bellew does have the ego and the mouth of a multi weight world champion.

Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
It might just be me, but isn't Koasicha's cutman in the Doritos mariachi band?
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
this mexican definitely didn't come to lay down, and hell he might be one of them guys we hear from when hes 30 and has 10 losses due to on the job training

Tidy left hant to rattle Selby too, but Selby came back from it pretty well.
-
Selby has great variety but he needs to focus on making opponents pay, repeatedly not just sporadically.
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
Hard to see anything but Selby cruising well ahead on points, but I do like the ref picking him up for holding the jabbing arm forward as a yardstick. It is one of my real bugbears in the ring.
-
Re: Buckland v Rees / Selby v Koasicha / Cleverly v Corbin
they just showed the punch in the replay that opened the cut and no mention of it since i guess theyre going with headbut...

While spoil a good story? Seriously though never had Sanigar down as a cut man but he seems to have sorted it out.

agreed with this he seems to fight in spurts and lose focus here and there
