Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
Vital Boxing - I’ll Take Him Out in Three Rounds!
“I think it will be three rounds but my trainer is talking five. They say you should never go against your coach but there is always a first time.â€
“It doesn’t really matter how Carl wants to approach this fight. He will as always be forced to perform the way I force him to.â€

"There will be no escape this time"
George Groves predicts THIRD-ROUND knockout for Carl Froch | Mail Online
"There will be no escape this time. We will have neutral officials (the referee remains a matter of dispute) so I won’t be a victim of the myths that I’m chinny and short on stamina."

He couldn't put Froch out last time what makes him think this time would be any different.
Froch will win again.

The likelihood of being put into a headlock by the reff for a second time has fallen exponentially. Froch is not getting any younger, quicker or cleverer and Groves has already beaten the krap out of him for 6 rounds.

Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
i like the confidence. it makes me excited for the fight.
-
People are missing the fact that Groves decked him very late in the round , if that was midway through the round Groves would have had a first round KO.
Froch was all over the place when he got up and that bell came seconds after and gave him time to recover.
-
The way Froch got himself back into the fight just goes to prove what a warrior he is.
I cant pick a winner here as theres so many possible things that can sway it for either man.
I want Groves to win but when it comes down to a tear up only a fool would bet against Froch.
One hard motherfucker Froch.

Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
He wants to pray that he does... If Groves can't get him out of there in 5 then he's in for a painful night, he looked lost after six and as bad as the stoppage was, he didn't look to have the powers of recoperation to last a further 9 minutes.

Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
I've nothing against Froch, who has been great for British boxing, but Groves was screwed in the last fight and so I want him to win and win well. He is too fast and young for Froch who will need to eat 2 to land his 1. I'm not sure if he can stop Froch who is tough as nails, but he should be able to bank rounds and win maybe 10-2 and maybe score a KD.

If Groves makes good on this prediction, he'll be a British superstar.
Carl Froch will be boiling over with murderous rage.
Tyson Fury and David Haye will be foaming at the mouth with envy.
Everyone at Sauerland Promotions will be jumping with joy.
Here in the US, as usual, everyone will be wondering what's the big deal.
Groves has a lot riding on this fight, would hate to see him crash and burn.

Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
He deffinitely has the potential to do it.
Hopefully he has been working on high intesity, short rest type training. That 6th round knackered him last time. He needs to be able to recover quicker and maybe not load up and be so tense with his shots.
-
Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
I hope so as I don't like Froch

He is a good example of professionalism but not of attitude. He also has obvious limitations of fighting people with good movement and output. Tough man but limited against skill.
-
Froch looks in seriously good shape for this and he's gotta come out fast and engage Groves from the off or he's a sitting duck again.
This is gonna be a toe to toe war from the first bell and its gonna suit Groves unless Froch lands a bomb on him.
It's got foty written all over it , add to that 80,000 people at Wembley and we are all in for an amazing night.
If Groves can bang him out in 3 he's an instant Global superstar $$$$$$

Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
Groves has the boxing skills and speed to be beating Froch but he cannot afford to get reckless because Froch will damage him. This is confidence from Groves and I see the fight being same as the last with Groves winning and Froch putting in a late surge and stopping Groves.
-
Problem froch has is what that Gonzales guy had, as soon as you come In you get hit with a right hand from groves.
But frochs movement etc is underated as he moves unconventionally for a slower fighter and I would even say he's slow.
Does anyone think he's slowed since 05?
-
Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
I think Froch had a bad night the first fight. This time I think he jumps on Groves more and is more physical and wins.
-
Truthfully, I don't care for Froch. His tendency to get honestly pissed, when anyone has the nerve to suggest he can be beat, has always grated on my nerves.
I might be giving Groves the kiss of death, considering some of my recent picks, but I'm hoping Groves knocks Froch out.

He is the finest FIGHTER.
You limeys invented the language, the least you can do is learn to read it.

Finest ? as in the most narrow ? or Finest as in the greatest exponent of fighting in British History ? neither is true and you are fast becoming a dick.

He hit Froch with his best punch and Froch got up like a champ.
Froch will win I guarantee it!

Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
I think Groves got done dirty in there first fight. That was one of the worse stoppages I ever seen. The ref must of owed Froch some money and decided to settle up by giving him the fight. With that said, bad stoppage or not there is no denying Groves started gassing. His easy fight wasn't so easy any more. Froch had the momentum and I don't think Groves would of got it back. Groves knows he can't match Froch's experience. So if he's gonna win he's gonna have to end it early. The longer the fight goes on the chances he wins decrease
-
Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
Everyones overlooking the fact that Groves decked Froch very late in the round, Froch was all over the place then had a full minute to recover.
If Froch walks on to a big right hand in the first minute we have a new Champion ;)
-
Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
Groves needs to take him out early unless his stamina has vastly improved since last time. Highly doubt either.
-
Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
I can't see anyone taking Froch out within 3 rounds, even after what happened in first fight
Then again I would have never believed Hatton was a 2 round job for anyone prior to the Pac fight
I see this going muh the same as the first fight and pick Froch in 9-10
-
Froch has said today he's gonna come flying out and set a ferocious pace, bank on this being a Hagler v Hearns type fight!!

He will get his head boxed off if he does that.

Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
Such a hard fight to call.
Groves was screwed over in the first fight but clearly he was gassing badly. I don't think he can improve that stamina that much. I also don't think he will stop Froch early. Which makes it seem like a very hard fight for Groves to win. However I have hope that he can put such a beating on Froch in the first 6 rounds, a worse beating than the first fight, that when he starts to gas he has already taken enough out of Carl to largely nullify him. I can see both men hanging on for grim death at the final bell.
In terms of who I want to win - Groves all day. I can't stand the sight/sound of Froch any longer. Or his hard-by-osmosis brothers.
-
Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
Exactly, Groves fought well but he was gassing and fading, and that's because Froch is a HUGE 168 who is very physically strong and sets a pace that really wears guys down.

I don't reckon Froch is HUGE at 168, he says himself that he could never go to LHW because he walks the street around this weight. And he never set any sort of pace in the 1st fight , Groves controlled the pace all fight. At the end of the fight , Froch was just as knackered as Groves. My worry for Groves is I hope him and his trainer aren't looking for the early KO because of Groves' stamina problems, because that WILL backfire.
I have to trust that Groves has been professional in his preparation and worked on his stamina and if that's the case, Groves will stop Froch in 10 after a brutal beating.
-
Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
Carl Froch is a VERY large 168lber. He's got a big frame and a solid build that most taller fighters just don't have. I think Kessler is the only guy who's comparable at that weight.
-
Re: Groves says he will take out Froch in three rounds
You're wrong bro. Carl has said on a few occasions that he doesn't have to cut much weight.
I have a bit of a silly theory but I think Carl was just very cold/ dry last time around. I'll me much happier if he comes out with a good sweat.

Groves seems very wound up, might have lost the plot
My money is now going on froth by ko
