Agree with you except for Martinez. Martinez is a small middle and imo opinion only went to middle for more of a challenge as light middle was such a weak division at the time. Floyd hand picks his fight at light middle which is why I dont think you can consider him a legit guy at 154.

Bullshit...
154 was much better than 160 when Sergio moved into it...no need to start lying..;D

Ignore the troll in the clown suit and you are right. Remember Sergio had both belts at the same time and was told by the WBC that he needed to make a choice. 154 was a ghost town and Sergio has always chased the legend of Monzon and decided to go to 160 based on its prestige as much as anything else.
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
Too big for Floyd.
It'd be different if Ward was a slow plodder, but when you have a guy that much bigger with that kind of world class skill, it's a recipe for disaster for Floyd.
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
I think Ward would man handle Floyd.

I cant think of any 154 fighter at the time who was considered as dangerous as the likes of Pavlik. Williams was class but wouldnt consider him dangerous as he was more of a high work rate guy then a killer puncher and Martinez was robbed against him. The only dangerous guy I can think of is Margarito and at this time he was competing at welter.
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
whats next....who wins floyd vs Klitscho....i pic klit....wtf
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
Floyd should take on Sergio or GGG at middleweight never mind Ward or Hopkins.
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
Would be a terrible match, Ward would be completely weight drained whilst Floyd would be even more cautious than normal. It would be hyped up for sure but neither would be close to their best at that weight, and that goes for if Floyd fought Hopkins too.
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
This is an unrealistic wish.
Ward is far too big for Mayweather Jr.
Mayweather can't stretch that far, especially fighting someone as formidable as Ward.
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
This is one of those match ups that is dangerous and obvious. Floyd unless he got TKO'd early would suffer damage because Ward is not clumsy. He is quite dangerous and bigger. Floyd is good but so is Ward and Ward is not a novice. Floyd does not have the power to back up Ward unless there is a Catch weight and Ward has to come down 25 pounds from his walking around weight in a short period of time. Remember Roy Jones? That meal after the weigh would probably hurt Floyd if Ward gets enough time to chow down.
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
Just hypothetically speaking, of course..... but if Ward wasn't a Super Middle, this fight could be made.

And what was going on at 160?
Nothing at all.

Floyd was 148lbs in the ring in his last fight..he's simply too small.
Here's a thought:
Why can't GG take on Ward??
He's 32 y/o with Ouma being the ONLY ex champion he's ever faced.
Seems like the bar is set lower for the foreign guys for some strange reason.
By the time he steps up the sport will have passed him by.

Because hes too small. If a black man can use this excuse surely a fragile white man can too?

The fragile BM has been moving up since he was 22...the fragile WM is 32 and hasn't moved once.
Time for the fragile WM to "challenge himself" and take some risks.;D
Floyd has been outweighed by damn near 20lbs....lets see GG's overrated ass spot somebody(a CHAMPION at that) 20lbs.
Time for you white guys to raise the bar on your old heroes.

What Floyd has been moving up to fight is the equivalent of GGG moving up to fight Stieglitz or Abraham, which no one wants to see. Floyd has never moved up to fight a top P4Pr at a higher weight.

Floyd moved up and fought Oscar in his first fight at 154..
Oscar is better than anybody on GG's meager resume.
Mayweather has won TITLES from 130 clean up to 154.
Floyd has taken more risks than Golem's entire Country.

AHAH HAH, Good god, man, you're a total idiot.
Congratulations, your post is a piece of $#!t...
Re: Ward vs Floyd at 160.
Whole thread's a piece of $#!t actually.
Floyd has mayweathered , Whoops, I mean, avoided many of the top 147 pounders when they were in their prime, and yet all you mooks are seriously discussing him fighting the best 168 pounder in the world? Bollocks to all you meatheads...

Look at this little dickless gook calling people mooks.;D
I don't see Pac's explioted ass fighting any of todays top WWs.
He got put to sleep by Floyd's tuneup and just re-upped with his master to make sure he can keep ducking.
Why can't pac fight Thurman or Porter??
Sergio called Floyd the best..
He called Manny a joke;D

I agree it is unfair for Floyd to take on a middleweight especially when he started out at featherweight. However he is so good that he would beat every welterweight, beaten the best light middle already so there is very little challenge for him to improve his legacy. The only real challenge there is for him is to become a middleweight champion.

Exactly he steps up to fight a loser. Oscar had just lost to Mosely at LMW and Hopkins at MW and got a gift against Sturm. Hardly the most dangerous in the division. So instead of stepping up and fighting a dangerous guy, a younger mosely, winky wright he picks the easiest fight and scrapes through.

The thread is about Floyds legacy. Nothing to do with Mannys. No ones asking Manny to move up and fight these guys at middle because noone thinks hes good enough. Hed get destroyed by GGG. Floyd could beat GGG which makes it interesting and it would certainly improve Floyds legacy. What does beating guys who have lost to ordinary fighters do to his legacy? Nothing. And all floyd seems willing to fight now are below par fighters, Maidana, Khan etc. Porter and Thurman are top of their division. Why isnt he fighting guys top of their division? Is it he knows he isnt good enough? Does he know he cant compete with naturally bigger guys? These are fair questions. Theres no doubt he was the best lightweight and light welter but he hasnt beaten the best at Welter or LMW to be number 1 in those divisions.
