will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
i think that it would be a great fight for froch and a big money fight for both of them. obviously froch would jump at the chance to make the fight but chavez is a different story. when does his TR contract expire? i know that he has been having disputes with bob. even though he isnt a great fighter, i dont think that he blatantly ducks fighters. he was just brought along slowly. i think without bob in the way, this fight gets made.

Even if it does I see a one sided pounding.
Froch takes him easy.

Im not so sure now. Chavez does have a good chin and does let his hands go. Is he strong enough to push Carl back and hurt him? He will catch him. He has stamina so it will make a good fight at least.
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
Good fight to make. But if I were Froch, I would smartly set some conditions:
1. The fight's made in England (Junior needs to be forcibly removed from the Mexico/Texas/Las Vegas area).
2. The weight limit is strictly enforced, and Junior is closely monitored for any shady business with diuretics or anything else that will allow him to show up 30 pounds heavier than Froch at fight time.
3. Obviously by setting the fight in the UK, Laurence Cole would not be anywhere near the ring action. This is a must.
With all conditions being equal, Froch would beat the living snot out of Baby Chavez. While it lasted, it would be a pretty good fight.
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
A rematch with Ward should happen.
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
Its the most likely option for Froch next. He wants to fight in Vegas, but also win. I doubt he'd beat Ward but a Froch - Chavez fight is both winable and sellable.
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
Why is Chavez even an opponent? His name? What does the fight do for Carl at this point in his career? And how did Chavez get his mandatory ranking in both the WBC and WBO?

I don't know about that, we want to see good fights. Ward is very good at what he does plus layoffs don't seem to hinder him.
I see another boring affair with Froch looking frustrated again.
A possibly boring fight that I would watch for sure.
The best fight out there for Ward is Bika. He has a belt and had Ward hurt. Hes the most likely to go for broke and make it uncomfortable for Ward.
His recent run of fights is impressive for a veteran! Hos last 3 fights have been against unbeaten, world rated 20 somethings. The mans a machine and has done more than any other super middle the past year or so.

1. Huge fan base. Carl wants and deserves a big payday ?
2. Yes his name or rather his fathers
3. Gives him a chance to fight in Vegas and boost his HOF chances as well as his profile in the US via Jr's association with the name Chavez
4. A combination of the marketability of pink underwear and magic. Mostly backhanders and shady dealings though.

I get what youre saying buts its a moot point. The whole point in fighting Chavez in the first place is cos its a Vegas fight. Froch has no interest in fighting Chavez outside of Vegas. Only reason Chavez is even on Frochs radar is cos hes a draw in Vegas. Im sure Froch would much rather fight a more deserving opponent but who else can do a Vegas fight at these weights?
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
Chavez is going to want the lion's share of the proceeds here but I'm not sure Froch would care. Hearn probably will though. Would Froch versus Chavez be a viable PPV fight in America? I don't think so.
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
Honestly, I'm just wondering if this fight gets made. I have no doubt that froch destroys him. Froch would for sure take the fight but I'm not sure about Chavez' side. It makes sense for both parties involved but it seems like it would definitely end the Chavez rise to the top.
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
Chavez is a cashable cow, not to mention a beatable one. Muttin Chops is one fight removed from being out hustled, out bullied and frankly beat by Brian

Vera. Chavez is collecting punches at the rate of a fat man popping shirt buttons at a Vegas buffet and I can see Froch outboxing and or out slugging him on a level he has yet to show he is capable of competing at. Can't see Chavez people taking this as they can muddle along with more advantages under the same limelight for awhile longer and far less risk.

Yes, without a doubt, and a good undercard would guarantee it.
Arum would be promoting it so there's zero chance of a good undercard. Chavez is one fight away from being booed out of the ring against Vera. His fans or potential fans haven't even bothered tuning in to his last two non-PPV fights. Is Froch a name that's going to get them to shell out sixty bucks?
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
Froch wants to fight in Vegas, junior is beatable and it allows De Gale to get a belt. Hearns wins all round.
Re: will a fight between froch and chavez really happen?
its interesting to me that its really even a debate who would win this. i assumed that it was obvious that froch is a world class fighter while chavez has never beaten anybody who is anywhere near froch's level. froch has beaten many fighters better than chavez.

Damn, my friend!! Does Chavez get to pick his trainer? or the cereal he eats? LOL
Ok ok.... maybe they could fight in Vegas... LOL
But at the same time, I don't get where everyone is saying how the fight should be made in Vegas 'cause Baby Chavez is such a big draw there. Isn't Froch just as big a draw in England? I mean... how many fans packed Wembley Stadium to see Froch-Groves II? Why should Baby Chavez get to fight in his backyard all of the time? As someone else already said.... Froch has beaten better fighters than Baby Chavez has (well... for that matter... so have a lot of other people). Someone else said Baby Chavez would want the lion's share of the proceeds. How long is Melon Head going to sponge off his daddy's name?? He hasn't done a damn thing to earn his own legacy, but cheat and be coddled. And yet he gets to call the shots? I say f*ck him.

Froch is at the stage where he wants big money which he will get against Junior, fight in Vegas the pinnacle of boxing and create a legacy for himself.

I'm all for Froch making the big money. He deserves it. And if he can get it while beating the diuretics out of Melon-Head...... so much the better. Personally, I'd rather see Chavez face Golovkin (at the same weights, of course). The beating Junior would suffer would be career-ending.
