I am sure Mormeck lost to Bell but beat him in a return and therefore was the best cruiserweight at the time?

Haye always chose opponents who would stand in front of him like Maccarinelli, and avoided those who had good lateral movement like Cunningham.

As already stated, Cunningham wasn't ducked; Cunningham held a paper title stripped from the real lineal Champ.
In 2006, O'Neil Bell held the IBF Title while Mormeck held the WBC and WBA Titles.
They unified in early 2006, Bell became undisputed Champion as well as Ring Magazine Champ. (Did anyone take the WBO Title serious?)
Bell was stripped of his IBF belt, so Cunningham fought Wlodarczyk in late 2006 for the vacant IBF belt.
Cunningham lost a split decision, so Wlodarczyk now held the IBF belt that was stripped from O'Neil Bell.
New IBF belt-holder Wlodarczyk rematched Cunningham in May 2007, and Cunningham won the rematch, so Cunningham now held the paper title that was stripped from Bell.
In the meantime, the real Man-Who-Beat-The-Man, O'Neil Bell, lost to Mormeck in the rematch in early 2007, so Mormeck was now the lineal Man-Who-Beat-The-Man, holding the WBC and WBA Titles, and Mormeck was also the recognized Ring Magazine Champ.
In Mormeck's 1st defense, Haye stopped him in 7 rds in Nov 2007.
Haye was The-Man-Who-Beat-The-Man, winning the lineal WBC/WBA Titles, as well as being recognized as the Ring Magazine Champ.
Cunningham, winning a paper title in May 2007, lost it in his 2nd defense which was to Adamek in Dec 2008.
Also in 2008, Haye defended his lineal Title against Enzo Maccarinelli who had held the WBO Title since 2006, and had made 4 defenses.
If they had fought at that time, I think Cunningham would've been comatosed by Haye.
Haye was the "undisputed" cruiserweight champ. How many world class fighters did he beat? 1, maybe 2? He was beaten by one and wanted no part of a rematch.
There was Cunningham with the IBF. Undisputed means there are no disputes you are the best in the division. There is a dispute because he only faced Mormeck and Macaranelli and was beaten by Thompson.
So Wlad is not undisputed because of Stiverne :confused: and Hopkins wasn't undisputed because of who? Krajnc :confused: please, there will always be dispute as long as the sanctioning bodies continue to muddy the waters :mad:Quote:

That makes sense Brad. Haye was the undisputed champion and Steve was the paper trinket champion. It would have been interesting to have had Haye v Adamek than Macarinelli but I guess it was a bigger and domestic fight.Quote:
