Kiko Martinez wants to prove he is better than Carl Frampton - Ring TV

Yeah Kiko is a handy fighter, I think he just got caught in their last fight?

He sure did, it was a great fight from start to finish
Kiko maybe confident, but Frampton must be really confident.
Looking forward to this one. Carl gets through this then he can look forward to some big paydays against Quigg and LSC. Kiko is always dangerous though and should make this another cracker.
Q&A: Kiko Martinez - Ring TV
Cant wait for this weekend!
Thank god boxing is back it's a long 2 weeks, and what a cracking fight after the brake, I
was missing my boxing fix it got bad I nearly went on youtube and watched a old Johnny
Nelson fight.:vd:
I watched the first fight again the other day. Kiko was really putting it on him from the 6th until he got chinned. However, Frampton showed a good chin in that fight, and I think he's looked devastating since, albeit against inferior opposition to what Kiko's been facing.
I can see Kiko getting ironed out faster this time.
I think Im gonna back Frampton UD at 4/1. I wont go mad as already have a chunk on him to win a world title but I could see Martinez being more cagey this time. Starting slower and maybe trying to stop him late. If he does I dont think Frampton will hurt him early and mightnt have the power later on to stop him. Very interesting fight this.
Kiko has looked like an improved fighter since the first bout, but part of me thinks that was just careful opposition picking...hmmm
Read Kiko interview on Boxing Weekly and he sounds very interesting. His favourite fighter is Tyson, his best fight is Morales v Barrera, hardest opponents are Frampton and Munroe, best victory is against Dunne.
Alright, Gents. I'm going to do some work until this fight starts. Sit back, have a brew and enjoy it. How many hours do I have?
It is on 10.30pm which is 3 1/2 hours from now. It is on Box Nation.
BBC Sport - Carl Frampton v Kiko Martinez: Northern Irishman vows to win belt
What a shoddy fight this one is Eamonn O’Kane/Virgilijus Stapulionis :boxing:
Dont think i have ever seen such a messy fight
Is the the last fight before the main event?
Thanks, Gent.
Anyone know...? Is this the last fight before the main event?
Really looking forward to this one, I reckon Frampton is going to have the goods to KO Martinez again, Kiko may have had the power to finish Bernard Dunne, and plenty of others along the way, but in these surroundings with such a huge crowd behind him, I reckon Frampton takes it by a KO 6-8.
I Just hope the judges are fair. Hope its not like Martin Murray/Sergio Martinez if it goes the distance. Being in Carl's back yard i could imagine decisions being bias. However i will judge the fight for myself. Good luck to both men.
I think there is always a danger when you are in with a guy like Kiko of him landing the big punches and the boxing stylist in Frampton goes out of the window.
Heck of a welcome for Carl, I doubt the champion gets the same ovation. Must be weird being a Spanish world boxing champ, as he tends to go where the money is rather than fight at home where there is very little boxing tradition.
Carl's fight!!
No intensity from kiko yet. Quiet opener.
Why am I quietly rooting for Kilo???
^^Much more intense 2nd though.
Not a lot between them so far.
Frampton just seems to be a bit of a better athlete so far. He's nicking the rounds although there isn't a huge gap between them. It's like 55-45 every round for Frampton.
It seems like Frampton is winning the distance war. Martinez can't find his range. When he stays outside Frampton uses his speed to pick him off, but when he gets close, he hasn't figured out how to get off.
that didnt look accidental
I've got Frampton doing well so far, and while Martinez is landing a few punches it definitely isn't enough to trouble the judges. He's still got the big shots though, and Frampton should continue to be careful.
