Officially he's been down once (Carlos Hernandez). Unofficially he's been down once (Zab Judah)

Yep, deffinitely touched down against Zab.

Re: Floyd Mayweather has never been down!
He is staggeringly difficult to hurt, that much is pretty obvious. Some guys appear to coast to victory and actually take more punishment than Floyd has in almost all of his "tough" fights.
He did touch down against Judah for sure, can't remember the Hernandez one. Shane Mosley and Corley were able to legitimately rock him, and Castillo deserved the win in their first fight, being the only person with that argument imo.

The Hernandez one he went down when he hurt his hand punching Hernandez

Re: Floyd Mayweather has never been down!
And then boxed the rest of the fight as southpaw.

Re: Floyd Mayweather has never been down!
if shane had moved after he landed that shot, floyd wouldve been on the floor

Re: Floyd Mayweather has never been down!
like everyone said, mayweather was knocked down against zab but it was counted as a slipped.
are you saying that no scorecard has ever had him lose a 12th round? that is hard for me to believe.

Did that mean he took a voluntary count on his knee?

Voluntary knee. The one with Zab should have counted, but no one saw it... that one was clearer than when Tarver touched the floor vs. Hopkins.

Re: Floyd Mayweather has never been down!
Ok, even though the title of the post is wrong , Floyd is nonetheless certainly impressive in this category. I mean, Judah's (non) KD, while more significant than the broken hand official one, was still a flash incident that produced little lasting affect on PBF.
But this makes Hagler's feat even more impressive. He was down once...I think. And it could've been called a slip. Does he take the crown for Hardest Boxer to Knock Down?

It was a slip/push watch 2.20 seconds in of the first round.

Re: Floyd Mayweather has never been down!
In a number of fights Floyd spends round twelve on his bike so it makes sense he never lost one. Might have a draw somewhere. I don't know if Maidana can win against Floyd but but I would love to see him put Floyd on his ass at least once, that will make it worth it.

Walrus, are u the same Walrus who posted on the ESPN forum back when they had one?

No my good man, was not me, this is my first and only sports forum of any kind. I hope the other guy named Walrus gave us a good name. Most of us who use such a name are Beatles fans.

Yeah but fortunately (for Floyd in this case) it is one, unless the rules had changed just for that night.

Re: Floyd Mayweather has never been down!
That vid makes you wonder even more what Kostyas power shot and exceptional timing would of done right in the time slot when Floyd left to head for 147 and jumped the 140 hurdle and its gatekeeper :-\

With all due respect, how can you not call that a knock down, there was a punch that threw Floyd off and his glove touched the canvass.. Floyd should have had fingers in front of his face.

Fighting a limited B level fighter like Gatti or a legend with a bomb of a right hand (that beat his friend Judah) like Kostya? :)

I agree, I tried to say fortune smiled on Floyd once again, it should have been one. (unless someone changed the rules that night). Rereading, I think I was talking Spicoli yesterday.;D
For my money not only should Floyd have had fingers held in front of his face this night. I recon he should have had one loss notched up to him once too,but hey that just me.
I think the guy above me was saying it wasnt a proper knockdown as in a "wow hes down moment' it was a timed mishap sort of knockdown.

Yeah you have to come to the conclusion that Kostya (with his skills) wouldnt get flustered by Floyd at that stage of Floyds game and would of caught him a few times which would even things out in the final rounds.

I realized that from the get go @Andre I was actually speaking to the gentleman who said that was not a proper knockdown. I actually wish he would explain a bit his statement as perhaps he is seeing something I am missing.

I believe he wasn't referring to the boxing textbook definition of a knockdown but rather a knockdown the way we are more generally used to seeing them where a guy will take a hit and be layed out on the canvas for a moment. The reason for the destinction is likely because he wanted to emphasize that Floyd has never been hurt that badly (to end up flat on the canvas).
