George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
George Groves and Christopher Rebrasse both make the weight
Londoner Groves comfortably made the 12 stone limit after weighing in at 11st 13lbs 6oz, while Rebrasse will enjoy a slight advantage after tipping the scales at 11st 13lbs 8oz.
Groves is aiming to return to winning ways against the Frenchman at Wembley after suffering back-to-back stoppage defeats to IBF and WBA champion Carl Froch.
Rebrasse, who has a record of 22 wins from 27 fights, with two defeats and three draws, will put his European belt on the line while the vacant WBC silver title will also be up for grabs.
Speaking to Sky Sports News HQ, Groves said: "This is the most important fight of my career, really. It's a fight where you can't have any banana skins.
"On the way up, fights like this feel quite the same. The fight I had in May last year at the O2 was a must-win fight, as if I had lost that it would have been a big step back.
"But this is even different coming off the back of two losses, whether they were controversial or not. I'm back in the picture where if I win this fight I am challenging for a world title."
Watch George Groves take on Christopher Rebrasse live on Fight Night, Sky Sports 2 HD on Saturday evening, with coverage from 8pm.

Yafai the beast is fighting Bellachine
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
Yafai got hurt in the first round with a punch to the hip.
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
This is a durable opponent who has taken a lot of brutal punches.
-

Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
Luke Campbell next, I like the way Sky are selling him as some big PPV prospect. ;D

He is certainly a prospect but the PPV thing will only happen if by the time he is fighting for meaningful titles he has a marketable rival. He has been pretty class so far.

Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
A terrible opponent to look good against, and Campbell is winning virtually every second, but seems like he cannot figure out the puzzle.

LOL, I only switched it on in the fifth, and it really looked like Campbell was just going through the motions. That is a solid win; I think Brizuela fight is an ideal test, and Luke should look good.

I don't know what your specialist subject on Mastermind has to do with anything.

Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
I really like Groves.
But I wanna punch him in the face for these ridiculous entrance antics.
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
He is a walking advertisement with the ring entrance.

Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
If I was George, I would just ask Eddie for the extra £20 in my purse, rather than the 'fireworks'. Now we get Buffer butchering French...

Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
After that first round, Groves just has to make he does not get too overconfident, the Frenchman looks very ordinary.
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
Groves getting hit alot and looks very sluggish.

Yes he looks slow and getting hit unnecessarily.
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
I mossed the first round, has he shot his bolt throwing everything?
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
Groves won the second too. The Frenchman is just big, and tight defensively (in that he has a high guard).
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
Fair play, that Sky commentator (Nick Halling) is a bandwagon jumping cunt! In the 1st Froch fight , he said he was "making a mug out of Froch!" Now Groves is basically according to him an overrated cocky twat who has never proved himself! Him and Jim Watt should ring Mary Chipperfield!!!
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
Groves cant live with this pace. Nothing on his punches. Hes just not tough enough.
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
Groves should go to the body. Groves has picked up the pace in the 3rd round!
-
Re: George Groves v Christopher Rebrasse Thread
Groves is walking it, he just needs to be patient. Groves is three up.

Yeah, the Frenchman drops the guard when Groves does that. Anyway 4-0 Groves.
