The new Kovalev? Artur Bererbiev 5-0, faces Tavoris Cloud on Saturday

Beterbiev is fighting cloud on Saturday and has a good amateur background. He's 5-0 with 5kos and he holds two amateur wins over Kovalev. He got beat by the Olympic gold medalist twice but he looks like he has been moved on at a quick rate. I have never heard of him but fighting Cloud in your 6th fighting is either very smart or risky. I look forward to seeing it

He is not christian. He is also known for bad character, if faced hard opposition. I do not think he will go far

Stevenson, Hopkins, and Campillo (unofficially) all beat Cloud with lateral movement. Tavoris isn't a bad fighter, if you stay in front of him...like most punchers, movers tend to confuse the shit out of him. Beterbiev, being a big puncher..will likely stay in the pocket and trade with Cloud. If he can beat Cloud at his own game and stop/outpoint him will be highly impressive...especially as a 5 fight novice.

If you look at Stevenson's record...Cloud is probably his 2nd best win after Dawson. To equal that (assuming he wins) in 6 fights is :o

He's very aggressive, his style is better suited to the pros than amateurs.

Beterbiev had a lot of KO wins in the amateurs. He was robbed a couple of times, but his points loss to Usyk in the Olympics was fair.

These Russian is a BEAST to do this to Cloud, who is one dimensional, but very strong.

That was a very solid performance. It was the sheer volume that Cloud had no way of stopping being somewhat crude. Cloud looks pretty done now.

is something else, Cloud is no bum the way he took him apart was impressive.;)

Ismayl Sillakh - IIRC Artur won 2 out of 3 against him. One of which was a devastating knockout.
Igor Mikhalkin - Artur beat him on points. Currently the EBU light heavyweight champ.
Oleksandr Gvozdyk - 2012 Olympic Bronze medalist. Currently 3-0 with 2 knockouts as a pro.
Yunier Dorticos - Artur stopped him in 1. Cuban cruiserweight. Currently 18-0 with 17 knockouts as a pro.
Thabiso Mchunu - Artur stopped him in 3. Top rated Cruiserweight. NABF beltholder.
Oleksandr Usyk - 2012 Gold Medalist. 4-0 with 4 kayos as a pro.
Sergey Kovalev - As you mentioned.

If he fights like this, nobody will fight him, too risky

I read somewhere on facebook that Cloud broke his jaw as well.

Off topic, but I still think Kovalev KOs Stevenson. The Fonfara fight only strengthened my opinion.

I was genuinely impressed. Wasn't expecting much from Cloud after his recent losses but as Steve a Bunce said if any other fighter did that to cloud I'd would be a big statement let alone a 5 fight novice. The number 1 and 2 in the division Hopkins and Stevenson couldn't do that to him.

Good variety when he let his shots go, combinations were controlled and looks massive for 175. If fonfara is next expect another quick win

Fantastic prospect. Five fights and his promoters have the confidence to put him in with Cloud. Impressive.

I want to see him fight Kovalev, Hopkins or Ward. Hopefully the promoters don't go backwards with him.

If Cloud was spent it was after Bererbiev had dismantled him.;)

Fonfara is his next fight? That's a good one. I imagine Haymon will steer Fonfara clear of him.

Seen the fight today, he is very special. Hopkins should retire soon rather than fight these beasts.
