Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!
Cleverly v Bellew II will be shown live and exclusive on Sky Sports Box Office | Boxing News - Boxing Fights, Fixtures, Results | Sky Sports
That's a bit of a shame really, I don't see this fight being box office. The undercard is looking good though...
Scott Quigg v Joseph Agekbo
WBA world super-bantamweight title
Jamie McDonnell v Walberto Ramos
WBA world bantamweight title
Anthony Joshua v Michael Sprott
Final eliminator for British heavyweight title
Callum Smith v Nikola Sjekloca
Final eliminator for WBC super middleweight title

What a load of bollocks, PPV for that? Taking the piss
-
Re: Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!
Absolute joke.
Will do record low numbers.
-
Re: Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!
I can't believe between Matchroom/SKY they think that card is a winner.
They would have been better off saying we have a stacked undercard featuring
Scott Quigg v TBA
WBA world super-bantamweight title
Jamie McDonnell v TBA
WBA world bantamweight title
Anthony Joshua v TBA
Final eliminator for British heavyweight title
Callum Smith v TBA

Re: Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!
The main event isn't even for a world title or an elimination or anything...Where is the justification in the PPV??
-
Re: Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!
The guy McDonnell is fighting use to be a minimumweight
Walberto Ramos - Boxer
-
Re: Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!
Yeah the main event should be on the UNDERCARD of a serious big PPV fight. Joke.
-
Re: Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!
Heh?
I was hoping they'd pay me to watch it, never mind expecting me to fork out for it.
I won't buy, not a chance.

Hearn: 6,000 Tix Already Sold For Cleverly-Bellew II - Boxing News
Half the allocation of tickets have gone, might only cost a little bit more to be at the event

Re: Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!

" Only in the UK!
Eddie Hearn - You clever Bastard! not only has he managed to build up a rivalry between two very ordinary Cruiserweights, because he has signed Cleverley, he has guaranteed this fight happens! MARK MY WORDS; this fight will get so hyped, that it will be PPV!!! where else in the World would a fight between 2 guys without any current titles (not even an English or British title) who have only fought at this weight twice each get the exposure this is going to get?
and why is Hearn a clever Bastard? because after Saturday's fiasco, he can even chip their purse a little because if either of them were to stall because they weren't happy with the purse , they would be seen to be chickening out!!! he is calling all the shots here and the fighters' enthusiasm to get it on will lead to them getting mugged off!
Master and Bo-Bo24 like this."
This was a thread I started on 14th July! Everybody (some politely, some not so) said they disagreed and that it wouldn't be PPV! I can't help feeling proud of my prediction qualities. I fucking knew it would be PPV ! basically this is the disadvantage of Hearn and SKY's strong relationship. They're royally taking the piss!
Having said all that , I'm pleased that Callum Smith is taking a big step up and I think he's well up to it. Britain's next superstars , Callum Smith and Anthony Joshua. ( can't help myself with my predictions.;D )

I'm pretty sure that's not far off what they had announced a day or two ago. Think Quigg and Smiths opponents were TBA at least :P Don't actually see Agbeko confirmed as the opponent anywhere still, for that matter?
Really really bad card, what do they charge you guys for it anyways? Is sky sports not a subscription channel already?

Fair play, you were right. But it's not the hype that has allowed this to go PPV it's just a random left-field move really.
Funny thing is there isn't much hype so it will do terrible numbers. The hype they start to build won't get this one in the general public's consciousness.

No one should buy this.
Both guys got chased out the divison where one was given the belt!

I hate Eddie and his slimy grin. Sky and Adam smith is his gimp. This is truly disgusting.

This is going to be wall to wall coverage on sky now everyday until the fight to build the hype up and get sufficient subscribers.
Could Warren shoot Hearn?

Would you rather pay £15 for a non-title fight between Nathan Cleverly and Tony Bellew or £12 a month for Sergey Kovalev’s unification bout against Bernard Hopkins, Manny Pacquiao, Chisora v Fury 2 and so much more?
Relive the moment that nearly sent Cleverly into retirement #CleverlyBellew2

Trust me, the hype will start now, there'll be scuffles at press conferences, big names quoted for Quigg etc. that will drop out at a later date. All the usual bullshit.

Box Nation have this right and Sky should be ashamed of themselves making this PPV. As others have commented the only justice will be it'll probably turn out to be their lowest PPV ever. It's a decent card but one viewers should be getting as part of their subscription payment.

Considering he over hyped the first bout and then add in the Saunders - Eubank JR debacle and it seems like he already scored an own goal himself. Don't get me wrong Sky and Matchroom are taking the Michael with charging Sky subscribers extra to watch this, but Frank would have tried to do the same thing if still had a Sky contract.
Gotta love the fact that boxnation is reasonably priced though, no ducking that. I also think that most matchroom cards are very watchable and sometimes far better stacked with quality than Franks nights though, so I watch both.

Re: Cleverly - Bellew 2 on sky sports box office !!
This will mean Khan v Brooks and Quigg v Frampton will also be ppv.

Yep, and Froch v Kessler III ! Fuck me, they'll probably try to make Tommy Coyle v Luke Campbell PPV Next! ;D
To be fair, at least Brook v Khan and Quigg v Frampton would be World Title fights, whereas these 2 Clowns aren't even fighting for a Northern area title!!!

Blimey, you must hate Frank more than me to think my post somehow praised him.
