Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Hey, Andrzej Fonfara vs. Doudou Ngumbu light heavyweight belt in Chicago this eve. Fight starts at 9pm East Coast US time being aired on Showtime overhear. Not sure what the undercard lineup is. I'm not familiar with these guys buy I saw I brief documentary about Ngumbu and he seems like an interesting guy. Let's hope for a good fight. I got my beef Jerkey and Coca-Cola, I've done much to placate my wife today so I expect to be able to watch this with little interruption.

I hate to show my ignorance but what is his record. Also, who will you guys outside the state's watch it? Bootleg stream, sky or the like. I'm just curious. The only way I get to watch fights in other countries is usually poor quality streams if they are not on network here

Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
I watched Ngumbo in the loss to Mikhalkin and he looks a bit of a spaz who is all over the place. Fast enough hands but slappy with attitude, herky jerky and leaves his head up eating straight punches. Pace wise it should be good but think the Fonfara who got stronger down the stretch vs Stevenson should have enough to slow and beat him. Be interesting to see which way Fonfara goes after that war and knowing he put in on Adonis in the end. Javier Fortuna should take care of Cotto in some semi devastating fashion..if his head and weight are right!
Great to have a triple header!

Definitely, a whole evening of boxing is a beautiful thing. To top it off if things get slow we can always watch @brocktonblockbust and his recently posted boxing videos. I hear Tam retired after watching them.

That first right hand looked to be on the back of Cotto's head. Yes or no?

Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Cotto hurt early in the first. He just straight fucking sucks. Ref is pretty fucking loud

Evening all. Watching this on Box Nation in England. Was in a restaurant twenty minutes ago and then realised this started at one am our time instead of two. You'd think spending hours a day on the phone to the States I'd know what tim it is over there. :)

Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Cottos head just slammed against the camera. This is a wild fight. This ref is going to win this fight. That was zero kd

The guy can fucking sprint though. Those little fat legs go like fucking pistons. Usain Bolt better watch out.

Punches to the back of the head. Multiple low blows. Cotto is pretty fucking dirty.

Blighty puts the clock back a week before north america does, so the time difference is buggered(well an hour off) untill tomorrow..

I've manages to miss the ring card girls and most of the fight up till now. Here we go. They seem to have settled down a bit now.

This fight is a strange one, should we laugh or cry? It's over!!

Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Cotto earned that KTFO...:angryxo4:

Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Cotto showed what a bitch he is. Fuck him. Fortuna seems to be a fighter caught between styles. Seems to wanna do everything. He has talent. But he is currently not championship material

A memorable fight for several reasons. Lol

Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Good to see the Kameda brothers fighting in the US. Koki won earlier today
-
I like the Kameda ring walk, a lot!! Good mix too.

Great frame, little bit squat and squares in the middle but gets off very fast. Easily see him division up.
-
Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Kameda was in control till he got cut and then Hernandez stopped fighting like a sparring partner. Or maybe Kameda went safety first. Either way good fight. Now I'm going to watch a guy called Doudou fight. Fonfara is the home guy and a Haymon guy so obviously I'm going to go with the house fighter here.
Oooh a split. I didn't see it close.
-
Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
I think they let the ref from 1st fight score this one ??? Had it 117-111 Kameda

Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
I love Farhood and I know why Showtime didn't have the a team tonight but where has Paulie been lately. I haven't seen him for a while even when Goldstein has been at the mike. It seems he and I Jrr have been quiet lately. I did hear Paulie call a fight on a New York spots channel a while ago
-
Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Fonfara is advertising hemp clothing on his arse. I can't emphasise enough the superiority of hemp over cotton.
-
Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Fonfara needs to start ones and twos like pistons down the middle, nothing to stop it. fighting Doudou is like trying to grab a feral cat who jumps on your face in the middle of the night
-
Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
Doudou came to fight, that's for certain. That left hook took a lot out of him though.

He's def eratic awkward but it works in spots. Something tells me Fonfara might be wishing it was a 12 rounder

Fonfara looking dominant in the tenth but to be fair it looked like he was in a different weight division to Doudou. He's going to get the decision.

Re: Showtime Championship boxing tonight Nov 1
I want to see Berbetiev fight the winner of Hopkins Kovalev. Unlikely to happen straight away but imagine if Kovalev wins and they make the Berbetiev fight. :)

Yeh, I still have an itch for Stevenson to be lined up for the winner and have the S removed from his chest ;D Talk about feeling like the odd fighter out. Thank you Mr. Haymon
