I say this and I'm not even a fan of wilder. Let's be objective here.

Marciano beat a handful of has beens and he would be a midget by today's Hw standards. Wilder has too much range for this guy and shit would get ugly quick.. Wilder knocks out the overrated tough man in 3 rounds or less..

Shavers? Lmfao what is he like 6"1? Wilder would have mirked him..

And don't even get started with gene Tunney the primitive fighter.. I doubt he beats Audrey Harrison..

Well it's no secret that I agree with this whole synopsis.

The main issue I see is how the HELL could anybody really disagree with this?

They would want to come to the ring wearing spandex because if they wanted any hope whatsoever of surviving the first round they'd want to be "on their bikes".

Tunney was a primitive fighter with no relevance to a modern boxer whatsoever.

All that would be relevant if we were considering Wilder vs Stiverne.

I think Stiverne will knock Wilder out personally and I would cite similar reasons.

Except that's not what we were considering.

We were considering Tunney, Marciano and Shavers.

The only one I disagree with is Gene Tunney.

To knock out Tunney, you have to get him in the boxing ring.

And we all know that Gene Tunney did not fight or spar with black fighters.

And those were the black fighters of HIS day. Do we really think he would get in the ring with a 6'8'', 230lb Wilder?

Shavers was a bum so that's no surprise.

The thread was really a bit silly, a 6'8" 225lb greyhound vs 2 guys about 4 divisions below him and 1 total bum about a division below, OF COURSE they wouldn't be such good fights.

I can kind of understand the nutbag community getting stroppy about such a comparison but the way they go about shutting it down is less than admirable. They could have used the "no-brainer boycott" method instead of actually arguing the case.

Marciano fought a few washed up black guys. A 6'8'' black guy who looked like Deontay was something out of those guy's nightmares. I doubt they would have gotten in the ring with him to be honest.

Your logic here makes no sense. I'm telling you the reason obviously that guys like Chisora and Arreola, despite being intrinsically better than past titlists struggle to pick up belts today because the competition at the top is several times more difficult. That makes perfect sense, you just happen to disagree.

Nothing against Wilder, but he's been knocked out by Evgenyi Romanov, a Russian amateur, who is 6'2 and wasn't super successful in the amateurs as far as Russians go, in the amateurs and dropped by Harold Sconiers as a professional. I don't see how a guy who is stopped with headgear on beats an all-time great like Marciano. Unless he's improved dramatically, I really don't see it.

No way does Mansour have world class power.

Amir Mansour doesn't have the 1 punch power of Shavers....Mansour has better combinations and may be a better BOXER he's not got the ability to drop bombs like Shavers. Not saying Mansour can't punch he obviously can but this is like comparing GGG's power and Julian Jackson's power....it's no contest who hit harder.

Mansour has, I will admit, turned out to be a better boxer than I figured he would be. If he was younger, if he had been smarter as a youth maybe he would have held a title....but the clock is ticking on him.


Wouldn't mind seeing Mansour vs Tarver or Mansour vs Briggs I think Amir could take those guys maybe. Maybe Mansour vs Arreola? or Ruiz Jr?
