NFL Playoffs are here!
Just watched the Carolina Panthers beat the Arizona Cardinals in the first Wild Card game of the weekend. Now it's my Pittsburgh Steelers doing battle with the Baltimore Ravens. I like to OD on football at this time of the year, 'cause there's a huge void right after the Super Bowl is over. The games are on a little late for my liking, starting at 5:30 pm and then 9:30 pm local time, but what the hell. It's Saturday, and I can sleep late tomorrow. Then there's two more games tomorrow, completing Wild Card weekend.
Gotta figure the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks have to be among the favorites to make it to the Super Bowl.

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
Damn..... looks like Pittsburgh's gonna lose to Baltimore.
Nothing against the Ravens, but they're gonna get their butts kicked next week against the Patriots.

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
I think Dallas and Colts win tomorrow. I'm tryna enjoy this weekend just watching football my team don't play til next weekend.
My Seahawks play next weekend and hopefully get the two wins at home and then onto the Superbowl again. A repeat would be nice :D
I am slightly rooting for Dallas to beat the Packers. Hawks beat Pathers and then Dallas to get to the superbowl. Dallas fans are like the Cardinal fans, they feel like, winning in Seattle is like winning the Superbowl. Now a healthy defending champ on defense and a focus (no more percy) offense in an NFC championship game against Dallas would be fun to watch ;D Slaughterhouse Seattle
On the AFC, I am rooting for Andrew Luck and the Colts.

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
I agree, I think Dallas and Indianapolis win Sunday's games.
Funny... I've been a Cowboy hater for many years. I think it stems from their penchant for calling themselves "America's Team". I also lived in Houston for a couple of years, and there seemed to be more Dallas fans than Houston fans in Houston (back when Houston had a team). For most part, Cowboy fans were snobbish, pretentious fans. My perception has changed over the years, especially given the fact that the Cowboys have had some very tough, humbling seasons. Also, fantasy football has changed a lot of things during the regular season (LOL)..... to where I've seen myself owning a Dallas player here and there and obviously root for them to excel.
Aside from all that, I'm rooting for Dallas in Sunday's game simply because I cannot stand Ndamukong Suh from the Detroit Lions. The guy is a walking time bomb, constantly getting fined and suspended for trashy crap that has no business on a football field. The latest incident... his purposely stepping back and pressing down on Aaron Rodgers' leg while the QB was lying on the ground.... was downright childish. Too bad he was allowed to get away with it. I'll bet more than a few fans from all cities would love nothing more than to see Suh get flattened and humiliated by a bigger, tougher badass.

Steeler loss...those two picks changed the tone of the game
This is a Packer Superbowl year: War Pack War!

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
Well...... I hope the Pack takes care of the Dallas Cowboys, who were gifted a trip to Green Bay courtesy of one of the worst calls in the history of the NFL (the pass interference flag that was picked up when it was in reality a blatant pass interference against the Cowboys!!). Talk about a game changing referee blooper!!! The Lions outplayed the Cowboys and deserved better.

The Lions should of put up more than two field goals in the second half. With all that weapon on Offense, that is unacceptable.
Cowboys didn't look as good as I thought they would. I pick the Packers and Seahawks for the NFC Championship.

Packers and Seahawks sounds about right. Gotta be mindful of Rodgers' strained calf, though. If Rodgers' can't go the whole game, or the calf limits his mobility, the Cowboys might have a chance. I love defense..... so the Seahawks-Panthers game ought to be a tremendous game.

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
bad reffing in every sport.
Just awful to reverse that call.
Hopefully Pack will destroy Dallas.

I want the Cowboys to make it back to Seattle. Don't want their fans to think they would of beat the Champs in the NFC Championship.

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
I don't understand how catching a ball, taking two steps and diving towards the end zone is NOT a football move?
-
Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
Yeah, that was a bad call. Ironic, isn't it... how they got shafted by a blown call, just like they had benefitted from an even worse blown call against the Lions.
On these weekend games.... I'm so happy the Patriots got past the Ravens. Pesky Ravens....
The most surprising result IMO was the Broncos-Colts game. I was rooting for the Broncos, but was shocked at how old Peyton Manning looks all of a sudden. He has absolutely zero zip on the ball.... and the whole offense played listless. Had they miraculously gotten past the Colts, the Patriots would've massacred them next weekend. Hell..... they were even getting booed in Denver!!

Far fetched story, Dez was never in control of that fall. The overturn is correct. And no that is not why Cowboy's couldn't make it back to Seattle.

I suppose those Peyton "Nationwide is on your side" commercials will cease.
Great career, Peyton, made his dad Archie proud.

Can't hate Peyton for anything. The guy is always a class act. Humble in both victories and defeat. If he calls it quits he is already an all time great. Crushing the record breaking OFfense of Broncos last year in the Super Bowl was not about Peyton but about how good our Seahawks Defense is.

I don't see how he wasn't in control, he caught the ball and made a move for the end zone.

No pal, if you see it from a neutral point, you would understand that he had the ball but had no control of the fall. Meaning he had no balance at any point of that fall. Meaning he was not making a football move. He was simply falling forward and he must not allow the ball to move when it hits the ground. Therefor incomplete pass. Keyword INCOMPLETE. In order to complete the pass, Dez needed to tuck it in and not let it move when he goes down with it.
I was rooting for the Cowboys cause the Packers are boring and AR is a chump. Romo is not as arrogant as AR is.

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
It's Colts at the Patriots.... and Packers at the Seahawks on Sunday.
Who ya got?
I favor the Pats and Seahawks to win at home. I don't think the Colts defense has an answer for Brady and his weapons.... whereas I think the Pats defense will be up to the task against the Colts offense. The other game I think hinges pretty much on Rodgers' injury. If he's not mobile enough to move around the pocket back there, he's dogmeat against a strong, fast, young, hungry Seattle defense. So basically I'm predicting a New England-Seattle Super Bowl. Who would win that one? That's a tougher call. But I think Seattle as a whole is pretty formidable. Not that they would rip the Patriots a new one, like they did to Denver in last year's SB..... but I think the hill is a little steep for New England.

Sorry..... some explanation needed for the non-fans or non-believers.
It's only that the Seattle Seahawks just beat the Green Bay Packers for the NFC championship and a berth to the Super Bowl in of the MOST EXCITING GAMES EVER PLAYED!!!!!!!!!!

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
I knew the Seahawks would win, even when they were down16. Pats have to win. If not I will be in a deep depression, I will need Miles to comfort me.

Re: NFL Playoffs are here!
It'll be Pats vs. Seahawks, with the Pats pulling off the upset to win their 4th SB.

Yea Hawks defense will keep giving them a chance to win. They don't give up much points especially in the second half. The Offense kept the fans on the edge of their seats. Russel threw 4 INT and may have been concussed from the helmet to helmet hit from the first quarter. RW is a winner though and winners find ways to win. 15 points in 44 seconds. Down 19-7 in under 4 minutes. Packers thought they had this game but Hawk's wheels just keep turning, like everything was always under control. Lynch with 25 carries had over 150 yards and that is from a team down 16-0 all the way to mid 3rd quarter.
Not sure which NFC Championship Win was better this year or last years. Nah def this one is better ;D
