He was extremely out of shape prior to the Maidana fight when he was on that rap tour. By the time the fight came around he looked good but the results weren't for him. The loss to Maidana may have set him on a mild depression. I saw the same thing that happen to Prince Naseem, and the same thing to George Foreman when Ali beat him and Jimmy Young finished off what was left of his pride.
Some guys just can't take it... it takes a while to get your mind right.... and if his mind isn't right, then he should not fight. Because, no matter how we feel about him, we do not want to see anyone seriously hurt in the ring.
But, I noticed something more than the weight post-Maidana: HE STOPPED CUTTING AND GROOMING HIS HAIR PROPERLY!!
Sure sign someone is under emotional distress or suffering from some melancholy.
